A reputable Microfinance Bank with head office in Lagos mainland, Lagos is recruiting for the role of Financial Controller.


Applicants must possess relevant qualifications and at least Minimum of 8 years cognate experience in core finance, accounting and audit functions in the Financial Services Industry or FINTECH space with at least 3 years’ experience as Financial Controller or Head, Financial Reporting and Performance Management.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
Responsible for financials reports to shareholders, the Board of Directors and regulators.
Manage the Financial Control, Treasury, Business Reporting, Investor Relations, Budget and Tax departments of the Bank.
Oversee the capital structure of the Bank, determining the best mix of debt, equity, and internal financing for optimal operations.
Identifying and managing financial risks of the Bank.
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
Research technical accounting issues for compliance
Support month-end and year-end close process
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Additional controller duties as necessary




Qualifications

Advanced Degree in Accounting
Minimum of 8 years cognate experience in core finance, accounting and audit functions in the Financial Services Industry or FINTECH space with at least 3 years’ experience as Financial Controller or Head, Financial Reporting and Performance Management.
Membership or Fellowship of ICAN and/or ACCA.
CFA Institute Chartership (optional).
Experience and exposure in digitizing the finance function.
Very strong experience and exposure in financial modelling.

Log and monitor service requests from both internal and external Customers until resolved
Provide IT support to internal staff to include hardware, software, and application support
Maintain and ensure up-to-date disaster recovery plan
Ensure support and maintenance of systems.
Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners and monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
Onboarding and off-boarding Employees as requested and ensuring new staff has access to the right applications for their job.


Qualifications

Interested candidates should possess HND or a Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields with at least 1 year cognate work experience.
