what theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ![]() ![]() ![]() ??what is this nonsense ![]() ![]() ? mods pls do something |
poster with all due respect this idea is a ridiculous fallacy. The problem of our police force goes beyond pockets. it is a question of "organizational culture" i might say. in management it is believed that the head of an organization-the manager- is responsible for setting behavorial trends. if he comes late to work, in time so will junior staff, if he dresses shoddily so will junior staff,if he is never on seat then neither will junior staff . as long as corruption is present in high places there is no arm of government with the moral authority to stop the police. the solution is simply that the root of corruption in nigeria must be tackled expediently. then the nigerian police force must be revolutionalized. a certain level of education(polytechnic) should be made mandatory for all levels and the salary drastically increased. the police should be made to go through ethics training and various relevant courses. that should be the first step. to say that police should go without pockets as someone earlier said is to dehumanize an already sub human existence. are we trying to accept as fact the lie that every single officer of the police force is guilty? are we trying to say that the police force are incorrigible thieves? if that is the case then instead of removing their pockets they should all be sacked. however this is not true so as a rational society we must find more rational solutions. |
highly impressive work there bro |
such silly comments as this post make me furious. representing your fatherland is an honour my friend not a right. as far as im concerned it is a matter of national pride. what kind of nonsense is this? so because he chose nigeria instead of England we should be eternally grateful to him and offer him a first team berth automatically? do you think that the England that dropped Walcott and Darren Bent will ever have even glanced at Anichebe? |
of course this is a PR disaster for Israel so they are trying to save face and the condemnation is coming so roundly from certain governments simply because these governments had citizens on board and would risk the wrath of their domestic citizenry if it appeared that they endorsed the Israeli action. the statement of the UN secretary general does not condemn the boarding of the ship but rather reiterates his message of ending the blockade. |
Beaf:please be logical. to you is there no difference between environmental activism and a military operation of national security? the objective was to search the boat and for that reason, military personnel were sent in. of course they were not boarded for for singing anti jew songs, there is no law against that but it does prove that to a very large extent the inhabitants of those ships were representative of a hostile and aggressively anti israeli force whose presence or proximity to israeli waters represented a threat to national security. |
so the israelis came down shooting and only ten are dead? how is this possible? we all saw the videos so this lie does not merit any credibility. the crowd were waiting for the first commando. pls use ur brains! do people stand still while someone fires into their midst? it is possible that the second or third commandos may have fired after seeing their colleagues being ambushed but this is unlikely judging from the videos we have seen. ask yourself, if the activists were peaceful and the violence started only when israeli troops fired on them, how come they were already gathered en masse on deck with iron clubs? in light of the revelation that y international law the Israeli action was legal, the anti jew case simply collapses |
fine Israel should not have boarded the boat in international waters. what as the other crime they committed? shooting civilians? no that as as clear a case of self defense as any i have seen. so you mean all the uproar is about israel boarding a ship? Sagamite:so you decide to prove that you are a strong man by attempting to beat soldiers up? what benefit did that do them i ask? ten of them are dead! sagamite lets not view those ten lives as statistics but as real actual lives, ten lives here lost simply because they were wise enough to attack commandos with iron clubs , of course this situation presented Israel with a threat to national security. who knows what the exact contents of the boat where? lets get one thing straight, are you saying that it was justifiable to beat the Israeli soldiers to death? |
the truth of the matter is that some people watch way too much press tv. israel acted illegaly but this is a matter of national security where it is a rule that the end justifies the means. why did the activists attack the soldiers? why? you can say they had the right to but that does not explain why they had to. its one thing to repel thieves from entering your property but when you know you are faced by a force way more potentially deadly than you and without having anything to hide and knowing full well that your attack means the voyage is over which means that the people in Gaza will not get the aid, why would you attack them? what was the point they were trying to prove? that iron bars are stronger than bullets? or perhaps they were never really interested in getting any aid to Gaza but were on a mission to provoke israel into doing something rash? |
peace activists indeed. these were pure rable rousers. i have seen footage of law enforcement boarding a criminal ship before where they were ridiculously outnumbered and unarmed yet they were not attacked so y r "peace activists" attempting to beat commandos to death? even when a thief is caught are you not aware that it is a crime to cause him actual bodily harm except where it is necessary to restrain him? self defense in this case is total hogwash, its more like resisting arrest with deadly force. even if they were waving white flags what does that mean?? if an armed robber waves a white flag does it mean police will let him go? |
wat side of the story do you want to hear? how lagerback does not like Anichebe because he did not prostrate and greet "good monin sah"? or how NFF came and threatened to beat up Lars's swedish assistant if they did not drop Ike Uche? there is no story to be told |
man angel:a solid round of applause for your simply yet explicit summation. |
Sagamite:the point is, nice guys finish last. you seem to be inclined towards analogies so here is a rather simplistic one for you. you share a compound with someone who passionately hates you but is not strong enough to harm you. however they keep throwing stones at your home and so you took a stick and went and beat them to make them stop. now you hear that someone might be bringing them bigger stones that could harm your children. you have the capability to stop this person before he gets to your compound and if you wait till he gets to you it might be too late, what do you do? |
nonsense! someone should ask the UN whether Iraq was in in American waters when Bush invaded it? was Afghanistan in American waters? in the so called war on terror has the battle been limited to american, brittish and australian waters? the western world should cut out this Obama inspired hypocrisy. A ship is warned to change course, captain refuses and then lightly armed commandos board the boat obviously to search it and perhaps lead it into an israeli port where the ships captain and mission could be investigated. nothing wrong with this whatsoever but then as the commandos land on the ship they are immediately attacked with iron bars, knives and guns. what where the inhabitants of the ship defending themselves from? from being investigated ? or just trying to create an international incident? those so called peace activists knew what they were doing. if the commandos hand boarded that ship with the intention of doing damage i can assure you that more than ten would be dead. all they would have done would be to fire at them from the helicopter. in what part of the world do you attack soldiers and expect to be unharmed? i guess in international waters arrant nonsense. they should have killed more of them |
semid4lyfe:as for Anichebe, if you have ever played football at any level even backyard you will know that it does not take 90 minutes to get injured. all it takes is one second, one bad tackle, going up for one header and landing badly, an injury can occur at any time, even during the warm up. Ike Uche was injured for 7 months and played 15 minutes for his club, 7 months is a very long time for a footballer and they say he is still going through the rehabilitation process. tough luck |
you have got to be shitting me!!! dude this has been done to death already, just hit the search button |
i've seen this before but its still mad funny |
u r clutching at straws. all day you Amodu's cohorts been using Anichebe's injury as a weapon against Lagerback and now that a reasonable reason has been proffered you dont want to accept it just so that you will still have something to use against lars. mikel suffered a relatively mild injury which he has recovered from. Anichebe just got injured presumably during the camp. Mikel was certified fit before he left chelsea for camp and had been certified fit upon arrival in camp. |
he is still recovering from injury as are Apam and Anichebe |
people are just shoutin ideye brown, peter utaka bla bla bla but i can guarantee that 90% of you have never watched either player play. apparently Anichebe is injured. if you cant see the difference between Shuabu Amodu's team and Las Lagebacks team then something is wrong with you. honeric01:so you honestly have not seen any difference between Amodu's team and Lagerbacks team? pls tell the truth and shame the devil |
well apparently Anichebe is injured |
^ well he can play on the right flank which martins cannot. i think the strikers are going to be martins, yakubu and nsofor and martins with odemwingie, obasi and utaka being played out wide as wingers. Ogbuke is definitely a useless winger and even a retrogressed utaka is still far better for me. |

semid4lyfe:i have been advocating for mikel to be Nigeria's deep lying play maker for quite a while but i believe he can play DM with a measue of success as proven by his role in the chelsea squad |
Sagamite:see this is the mistake people are making, although i am upset to see Anichebe leave such comparisons as the highlighted are wrong. who says Utaka and Anichebe are similar players? they are extremely diffeent and as such Utaka was not picked over Anichebe. thats like saying Ayila was picked over ideye brown. though both players are attackers one is primarily a centre forward and the other is primarily a winger. tbh i was thinkin along the samelines till i calmed down enough to reason it out.it is unfortunate that we do not have any good wingers and some wemust make do with Ogbuke and Utaka while we have good centre forwards and thus cannot accomodate Anchebe |
guy obasi is better dan anichebe! He is useful on d flanks and in attack!
please this is a bad joke! what exactly does ogbuke contribute? back passes? from a winger in his sixty minutes of play Anichebe created three chances, in his 90 minutes Ogbuke did not create a single one |
utaka did not start any of the games so he has not really been given a chance to prove himself during the friendlies but perhaps he impressed in training. peter utaka looks too heavy and the coach already said he wants only one power striker which might also be why Anichebe has been cut out as well. presumably both are deemed inferior to Yakubu which is probably right. im hoping that lagerback will use Utaka on the right flank because Ogbuke is hopeless there and Utaka has proven he can play well there. |
i am quite disappointed that Anichebe did not make it and that useless goat called Obasi made it. Apart from that, no big surprises. injuries to Apam and Uche are really bad news but such is life. |
the criticism of Etuhu shows that most on here have only a barely minimal ability to read the game. if Nigeria played anything reasonable today it is because of Etuhu and Haruna together. Etuhu was doing an incredible amount of ball winning and mopping up and his passes were great. you think we were stringin passes together by magic? Etuhu played a huge part in Nigeria's retention of the ball. Kaita has also impressed me. i know he has a good work rate but i never used to be a fan of his till yesterday when i saw another side of him. he actually has some technique but i still believe that Etuhu is the bette player. as someone said Etuhu is actually quite similar to Mikel except for the fact that he is much more aggressive and Mikel is probably a better passer. i think the defensive midfield role/s should be fought out between Etuhu, Mikel and Kaita while in attacking midfield it should be between K.Uche and Haruna. Kanu and Ayila should be axed. |
it was not only 4-4-2 that was tried out and for a 4-4-2 the players that were used would be very unothordox particularly in the Saudi game. in the first game we played something more simlilar to Ayila Haruna Obasi Kanu k.Uche Anichebe and today it looked to me like Kaita Etuhu Ayila Nsofor Yakubu Odemwingie |
im impressed by the improvement. just imagine jamming mikel, osaze, martins, haruna, etuhu and the uche bros at the same time, gonna be something good fo us. Dele Adeleye is the best defender Nigeria has at the moment. you know how we nigerians say when someone wants to block your destiny God will eliminate him on your behalf. Amodu did not allow adeleye to play at the afcon but now Dele is going to the world cup and amodu is left at home to mourn what could have been. Afolabi was solid but im not convinced that he is better than Apam. any one who can still open their niash and tell me echiejile is better than taiwo needs to quit watching football. Etuhu was great, good hustling and good passes, playin kaita out on the flank was kinda a surprise for me, either the guy is being groomed as a back up full back or lags is tryin out some formation.either way i was impressed with him. i think we still need to sort things out in the final third though. we had a lot of attacking promise but no clear cut chances. thinks can only get better from here. judging fom the shape of the two friendlies im of the opinion that we are going to see either 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 with: Odiah Adeleye Afolabi Taiwo Mikel Etuhu K.Uche/L.Haruna Odemwingie Nsofor Anichebe/Yakubu |
so what time is the match going to be played at? |
