Boss, truth be told, it is a valid call. And for the fact that he even had the courage to speak the truth, the senator must be applauded.

We actually don't like saying the truth the way it is in this country. How sad.

Or are you saying the Government of the day has done well?

I am not saying the government has done fantastically well, but resignation should not be the first thing to say.
What they should do is demand more from the executive using different means.
.Truthfully, me sef taya for how things dey go, but we need to demand for more strategic actions by all and sundry ;after all, the SW governors are taking the initiative with Amotekun.

We shouldn't all rely on government all the time before we do something.

donogaga:
I think this is the most foolish response from a Presidential spokesman ever in the history of Nigeria, rather than address the element of Sen. Abaribe call for Buhari's resignation, he went ahead with calumny to blackmail the persona of Sen. Abaribe.

The primary responsibility of every responsible Govt is to protect the lives and properties of its citizen which Buhari has failed to do in all ramification. The spate of killings and attacks under Buhari is unprecedented. Sen. Abaribe's call is valid and it represents the opinion of all sensible Nigerians.

It is such a watery response coming from the presidential spokesman. And again, Abaribe's shortcomings wouldn't validate President Buhari's failures or incapacities if there are. It's quite appalling how Garba Shehu and Femi have left the real job of image management to stoop for the hatchet job of attacking perceived critics. What a shame.

As much as I want proper scrutiny the call for resignation shouldn't be coming from the likes of Sen Abaribe knowing his antecedent.
Like they say, who he comes to equity, must come with clean hands.

Death is just a visitor.

Don't be deceived, death can happen to any of us at any age, death does not mind your age, whether( old or young or even a infant) ,your social status(rich or poor), your race (Caucasian, black or Aryan or Asian) nor your weight (fat, slim, weightless) or even your health status (healthy, sick or a terminally diseased).

If We have many individuals with Dangote's mentality/mindset as it concerns domestic investment, the Nigerian economy will definitely feel the positive impact.

But all we have are greedy politicians who will loot and loot and instead of investing thier looting at home they choose to take it abroad or stuff it in a silo somewhere .

Many people already praising him when we've not seen all he said in action.
This is why people still get scammed these days despite the seeming abundance of exposure.

I weep for my eastern folks.

I am not saying we have not hope in Hope Uzodima, but we need to be critical of anything they say and claim.

Until I start seeing these high pitch promises in real action then and only then I will believe anything these people say.

I like Fashola, El Rufau,Oshiomole and Baba Buhari, but I won't be blinded by the promises by any of them.
I like them, but I won't allow my likeness for them cloud my objectivity.

Kante is a Machine in DMF, an absolute beast!

That's why it is difficult to separate your fanship from your citizenship these days.
I don't doubt Nkante's ability, but currently speaking, Ithink Ndidi tick all the boxes for me
and he is more complete DMF.

This is the kind of religious naïvety many of us exhibit and we think it is healthy.

It has nothing to do with the house, but how to look at his modus operandi for his business in view of his current location, and in business, everything goes up and down, it's all about tweaking it and working hard at making it.

Can This Lead To The Downfall Of Someone?

I just moved in to a bigger city and a better and bigger apartment. I co-rented a flat with a middle aged man.

Now here is the problem, in my business at least in a week, I attend to nothing less than 20 clients but since one month I moved to this apartment I have not seen a single client.

Any day I do my digital marketing I am sure to see at least 10 to 20 enquires but since a month I moved to the apartment no body ever chatted me up for business.

Today I had to withdraw the last 5k in my account. The least amount I ever had in my account was 20k now I only have 500. I am someone that always enjoy the grace of God in my business but now its as if heaven has turned it's back against me. I am seriously thinking of leaving the apartment.

Any Advice?

I think it has more to do with your business startegy than your current location.

I think you need re-strategize that's all.

This foul cry from MUMURIC and the North about AMOTEKUN is a ploy by the NORTH to so the seed of religious intolerance in the peaceful south west and move in to cause problems.

South West watch carefully, the North is after you systematically

Don't even bring that dumb argument here.

Hisbah is not in very northern state unlike Amotekun which is regional.

If you talk about population, the number of Muslims in only one southwestern state far out number the Christians in those states your mentioned above.

In fact, the number of Muslims in some south western state are above or slightly equal or slightly below the Christian population compared to any northerner state.

Politics / Re: Sorry To Say, The Nigerian Government Is Better Than The Nigerian People by Khaleell001(m): 11:27pm On Jan 21, 2020
AceRoyal:
I understand you points and perspective BUT
Are you saying the government is different from the people?
Are you trying to subtly exonerate the government?

A fish gets rotten from the head downwards and not the other way round.
The masses have a share in the blame but the government has the greater share.

While you drive home your point in castigating the people, be fair and do same to the government.

Most people act the way they do because they see how power drunk government officials are and tend to follow their example unconsciously in their everyday lives once given a bit of power or when they find themselves in positions of power because they feel it's the right thing to do based on glaring examples.

Most of the things you wrote up there can be attributed to one major factor.... POVERTY!

Is the government not directly and indirectly responsible for the prosperity or poverty of a nation?

The government is by no means better than the people, they're worse because their actions and inactions reflect in the lives of the people and gives credibility to the points you have raised.

Nice piece though.

Poverty is not just an idea or mental state, but an attitude.
Our general attitude towards productivity and our usage of time is very poor and that is what has reflected in virtually everything we do in our lives.
I am not exonerating myself.

The point is, the leader is a reflection of the people.
If people are cheats, liars, oppressors and moral lepers you don't expect a saint to do weave any magic and change their land to Disney World when the people are hell bent in their ways.

If you are a Christian read the story of Moses (peace be upon him) and the children of Israel or the Israelites as the Bible calls them ;and how Moses tried hard to liberate their minds from the mental attitude they got from their years of slavery, but he never really succeeded because they was someone somewhere frustrating his efforts to reform them.
This is our state.
It's our attitude.

This is it;when a people are unwilling to change you don't blame the leader.

Buhari may not be the "alpha" and "omega" to solve Nigerians problems, but I feel parents and religious leaders are the ones to instill this moral and social attitude of change into their congregants to bear the fruits of progress otherwise, we are just wasting time we don't have.

I totally disagree with you Op. Nigeria government are not trying at all. Many Nigerians are struggling and hustling day to day to make a living but our government policy are not helping the masses. It only favour tthemself.

Even if government produces such policy how many of us are willing to abide by it without cutting corners?. how many?

It's very easy to pass the buck when majority of us: parents and religious leaders have very strong key roles to play in reforming the society.
But the question remains; who wants to get their fingers burnt?
