TO BE CONTINUED, WATCH OUT FOR PART 3 |
@esko: i have great news for you. i will be in Benin & Warri around middle of August for this purpose. There's going to be a seminar to this effect, and i will be there with an official from the International Office here to answer any questions you may have PLUS "INSTANT ADMISSION". As the plans become more solid, i will keep posting news on this thread. What part of the country do you live in? There aren't african restaurants in lefke, but in other cities, i hear there's one, but never saw it. but over here in lefke, there used to be at least 5people cooking weekly, fried rice, jollof rice, nwkobi, pepper soup and other delicacies. unfortunately, most of them just graduated, someone else would have to pick up the business, i guess :-) the lady that was doing nkwobi was charging 10lira (equivalent to 1k naira) and 5lira for pepper soup. those with rice, and semo and amala and co were charging like 10, 15 lira, depending on the meal. then they have like 35bucks for a pot of soup, things like that. but typically here, a plate of food here ranges from 4lira to 12 or 15 lira in most cafes. restaurants outside might go up too 27 (2k7 naira), depending on the meal you order. I don't know if i would be going back with students, but you guys shouldn't worry, there would be a welcoming committee when you get to Cyprus, and i will put you through everything else from after admission until you finally arrive Cyprus, up until you settle for good. PS: I'm sorry i didn't get your email, i have no idea what happened. either i didn't see it, was too busy or it was lost in Junk mail or something, i don't know. but i've been responding to all the people asking questions, especially on messenger. you can email again with your questions, or find me on messenger. i'd rather messenger, NOT facebook. |
okay, anyone interested in schooling in Northern Cyprus, admission for Fall Semester (September) is open now. Also thanks to this thread, i'm now an agent for the European University of Lefke and can now assist students in coming to study here. I'm available online for the most parts of everyday. Yahoo! ID: okiemute2002 Live Messenger ID: kheme@msn.com will be launching a website pretty soon, onto which i'd transfer all the info i've provided on this thread and more, but in a more organized manner. |
lol those are my friends words, not mine. fact is, i started with joomla, and when i need a module or extension and i can't find one with the exact features i need, i just write mine or customize the one with the closest available features to what i need. but in wordpress, most of the extensions available most probably already do what the users want, and there's less need for more specific features. still, wordpress is for blog-type websites, so to speak. while joomla is more of general purpose, can be used as a regular website, or as a blog site, or more. joomla seems to offer more customizations than wordpress (i've not used wordpress as extensively as i've used joomla) have i answered this question?? |
@Poster: dude, you have a few options. Try out the different CMS out there and decide which one you are most comfortable with. The most common ones are Wordpress & Joomla. I use both, but i prefer Joomla for WEBSITES and i prefer wordpress for BLOG (or blog-like) websites. But if i had to choose just one, i'd choose joomla cos you can customize the most part of it easily. As my friend once said, joomla is for coders, wordpress is for designers. I also use a CMS i wrote myself, which replaces joomla where it's too complicated for the client and wordpress where the site needs less stereotype. The choices are yours. My advice, try all of em out one at a time, and find the one you're most comfortable with. my 2cents :-) |
yea, and i commended you on that. i know what's involved in customizing em templates, still doesn't make em "your" designs. unfortunately, i've not made any Nigerian websites lately. my last Nigeria website (2009) is www.godscovenantministries.org designed from scratch, 100% my design! rest of ma older designs include www .htmlonline .co .cc and www .khemeonline .co .cc , all 100% MY DESIGNS. |
@Webrrie: i was hoping it wouldn't get to this! DUDE, please stop claiming that they're your designs. you didn't design those things, and don't let me post links to the templates online! post something you designed yourself. Thanks |
@Webrrie: nice joomla templates, but dude, you didn't design those, so don't claim you did. but kudos on the little customization you made on the templates bro :-) |
ok, i was really really interested from page on, but on getting this far, i've totally lost interest! |
my mind mehn, my mind! cos it's the most important resource available to me. |
got it, and unfortunately threads cannot be deleted in this forum, and that sucks some times ![]() SOLUTION Set the following parameters in your php.ini file: register_globals = on register_long_arrays = on expose_php = off variables_order = "EGPCS" |

dude, my computer isn't infected with spyware, i also have an active antispyware and an active antivirus. it just so happens that i was a little misinformed if i paid attention to the little details, would have seen the solution. problem remains RAM, and some heavy application i'm using ![]() |
ok, don't tell me it's my RAM or processor speed. or what could i be missing? so check this out, * I have 3GB RAM (upgraded from 2GB) * processor speed is 2.00mMHz now, i've opened task manager to observe the CPU usage and RAM usage at the times when my computer is slowest, my ram never went above 50% of usage (meaning i had clean 1.5GB RAM to utilize) my CPU usage (for both processors) never went above 50% to 80% for more than a few seconds (CPU was never 100% busy for more than 1 or 2 seconds) PLUS i have like 500MB virtual memory each allocated from 3 partitions of my hard driver (extra 1.5GB memory). so the question again, why is my computer still slow, even with so much free RAM and less busy CPU what could be the reason it just suddenly reduces performance after some time. it could be 5mins after i put it on, sometimes 30mins, sometimes an hour, sometimes i doesn't get slow.i defragment often. i repair my registry often, my antivirus us up to date, my drivers are up to date, my updates are installed, i delete temporary files often, i do everything right and still, my computer gets slow!!! when the computer overheats, it just does off but never reduces in performance. so does anyone know the REAL reason why the computer is slow ![]() |
well, unless there are individuals willing to trade for you, forex brokers that do managed accounts (their professionals will trade for you) require a minimum deposit of like between $5000 to $10,000 i know there are individuals that do trade forex with peoples' money and return a per cent monthly. i'm going into that pretty soon too :-) |
that's won't hinder crawlers. also, on the index page (both mobile and PC) place a link to a site map page with links to all pages you want indexed so that way, the crawlers can index your site. once the site map is setup, you can submit it to search engines and leave the rest of the crawling to them (i won't matter much if the home page redirects after this). |
@Number_One: there are scripts (PHP, ASP, Javascript, whichever you're comfortable with) that can determine if a user is browsing your site with PC or Mobile, why not make use of one those?! it makes your site (www.greenspek.com) seem smart or intelligent. |
my question is, WHY on earth is ASP still out there ASP (ASs Paper) my ass!I code in both languages. In all areas, support, compartibility, free scripts, easy coding. . . .same question i asked when i saw PHP after i started with ASP. why bother?!? I mean, i consider the time i spent learning ASP a waste of my life, lol I picked PHP in ONE day and it became just as easy for me. i'd say it again "Bleep ASP!" brother, go for PHP. i've used ASP and i've used PHP. i started with ASP before i met PHP and i will say it (again and again), screw ASP, settle for PHP and you will NEVER regret it! |
This is a hilarious thread!dude, seriously?!?! i can't stop laughing! LOLI started programming with ASP initially, then i was introduced to PHP and believe me you, i learned the shit in ONE DAY (i was good in javascript already). Since then, i dropped abandoned ASP, i dropped it like it was damn hot! PHP is so freaking flexible, damn! these days, when i see ASP codes, it gives me this feeling like i'm in a stray jacket AND under water AND inside and undersized coffin , no freedom at all! with PHP, i feel like a bird, i feel free, i feel like i can fly, do whatever i want ![]() mehn seriously, PHP is the Jesus Christ of web programming languages but you know, even Jesus had his enemies. They tried to kill him, didn't they? lol ![]() |
where do i sign up? as long as money making is involved, count me in! |
can you list your favorite songs from the 90's? I liked alex o and ras kimono, lol |
talents? hmm, explain Also, bear in mind that couples and singles will be present, so ideas should be something to involve EVERYONE, whether singles or couples.
|
I need a few more ideas for games and fun activities to spice up a valentine's dinner party, any ideas, people? |
lol you'd survive, don't worry. i've been here almost 5yrs now and i'm doing well without much nigerian meals and much "turkish" meals. What to bring:
[li]red oil[/li] [li]garri[/li] [li]pepper[/li] [li]spices[/li] [li]clothes[/li] [li]dried fish[/li] [li]stock fish[/li] [li]crayfish[/li] [li]bitter leaf[/li] [li]dried melon (egusi)[/li] [li]dried ogbono. they have to be dried so they don't spoil[/li]
that's about it. if i remember anything else, i'd add it on here |

if i paid attention to the little details, would have seen the solution. problem remains RAM, and some heavy application i'm using
what could be the reason
