Education / Re: Nigerian Universities With Most Employable Graduates - Stutern by kibo: 4:18pm On May 04, 2017
While i have my reservations about the report.

I have read some comments on this thread by certain "Nigerian Graduates" claiming to counter the report but cannot come out with solid intelligent arguments on why they disagree.

It only validates some of the sections in the report. This is like a white paper report and it is subject to discussions.

It bothers me a lot when graduates cannot pass across their points in a clear and concise manner. Sometimes you read through threads, and you feel you wasted a lot of time because you really cant identify logical discussions.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Certification Vs Masters: Which Is Hotter In Nigerian Labour Market? by kibo: 1:28pm On Apr 24, 2017
Your question is straight and direct, as we are not considering experience, network and favour.

Its really a question of the type of field and company involved.

For the IT and Accounting field, certifications in ICAN, ACCA, Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle generally will come in handy.

For Oil and Gas companies, Public sector and Multinationals, an Msc generally will give you an upper hand as the structure there requires academic achievements for promotion and recruitment.

If we take an IT Administrator that works in Shell, he might be promoted based on his academic portfolio. However, indigenous (local) companies that work on IT Solutions might require an IT Administrator to have certain certifications because the job role requires implementation as compared to the case of an IT Administrator in an Oil and Gas firm where most implementations are usually out sourced to third party companies and the job role typically entails administration and management.

In Conclusion, there is no one size fits all, it all depends on the field and company we are talking about.

One should research carefully on the target market of choice and plan towards acquiring the required qualifications (Certifications/Msc) needed to succeed in that space. However, note that there a lot more factors that affect a potential job opportunity than just Certs/Degree (which i mentioned earlier).

Hello everyone, has anyone been able to get refunds for their admissiom deposit in a case where visa was denied ?

The school claims they will send it through international bank draft but the banks here say you cannot clear international bank drafts in Canadian dollars.

Guys please anyone ?

Yes it doesn't make sense because what I replied to didn't make any sense too. When your school of thought is flawed I won't accept it and I will call you out!

A person was asked his/her own definition of a good man and the reply was "a man with the fear of God".

And you say that school of thought is flawed ?? Where is the power of choice and opinion.

Its like asking me for my best meal, and i say rice and plantain and you say its wrong, that i should choose only rice because you've never seen plantain or tasted it.

Dont you think that is rather absurd !!!

And who told you one has to have the "fear " of God to be a good man ? What does fear of God even mean ? I stopped reading after this post of yours....you religious folks always use this line like only Christians get married or live a just life. Some of you "God fearing " men are worst than Amadioha. Even with the number of so called God fearing men, the country is full of shameless women beaters and pedophiles who are waiting for whose life to devour. One doesn't need to be God fearing to be a good man. It tells me about your level of intelligence anyway. Have a nice day.

Why is it so hard to respond in a civil manner and respect an opinion?

The bolded doesnt make sense.

Not accepting someones opinion as a different school of thought tells a lot about your own intelligence too.

I did not pay part/full tuition. Although some schools require that you pay. But if they didn't state that, I dont see any resson why you should pay.

I dont believe paying tuition guarantees TRV.
I hope this helps you better.

Yeah, Thanks.. This helps a lot. Pardon me, this is my last question. I was also curious to know how you were able to prove home ties ??

Hi Guys, i know we get a lot of questions repeating themselves on this forum. Can anyone advise on this

How does paying for tuition before TRV application affect one's chances of getting study permit, i.e does it increase your chances ?? Can you actually apply without paying for tuition ??

Cheers.

Hi Yetunde, thanks for the wonderful explanation.

Just a little question, did you have to pay part/full tuition before applying for TRV

hope is not

I personally think it is unethical for you to post someone's result online with "HIS NAME" because you want to amuse people.

You are tarnishing his personal image. You cannot conclude why he obtained that kind of result or the circumstances he was faced with during the examination period.

You could have at least greyed out his name before posting this, if at all, you wanted to do such. Posting someone's result with "HIS NAME" is highly unprofessional.

I dont see the joy you folks get from laughing at someone's failure !!!

Rarely do I see such display of insight as you have done on Nairaland nowaday . The earlier people realise that fighting for the good of this country should overshadow party affiliations, the better.

Exactly my point !! Nigerians need to reflect on the performances of their leaders on a personal basis, not covering up because they are wielding brooms or umbrellas

Mr House of Rep, Charity begins at home.

There is no point beating around the bush, show a good example by cutting down your allowances first.

Others will follow suit. Buhari will handle his DSS Operatives, EFCC,ICPC,and co. will fish out corrupt individuals.

We know you might not sponsor any bill, all we are saying is CUT DOWN YOUR ALLOWANCES !! Oil prices are dwindling, you and your colleagues should be patriotic and make amendments.

N.B: I can see a man with a broom happy because the Rep is from PDP, another opportunity to bash pointlessly, this is an issue that cuts across all party lines.

If you had nothing to hide, why did you run away after getting impeached. Opposition cannot intimidate you if your hands were clean.

You returned because your party is in charge.

Your days of impunity are over. Even if you escape the judgement of man, you will surely answer the Creator.

Career / Re: Are MBAs Becoming Less Important? by kibo: 10:59pm On Jun 15, 2015
Three things will determine the potency of your MBA !!!

- The Kind of Industry ( For small scale industries, an MBA might not be very useful, especially skill based industries where preference is given to technical acumen/qualifications rather than educational ones, for Multinationals (OEMS), an MBA will always play a crucial role, especially during promotion exercises).

- Years of Experience (This is a constant, your experience would always play a major part. A proper blend of experience and an MBA can give your career the necessary boost required. Infact, some schools make work experience a compulsory requirement before you can even get admitted to do an MBA).

- The School (Yes, you can deny this but its certainly a passive factor in the background, An MBA from Harvard Business School !!! That can solve a lot of problems).

MODS you can do the needful !!! @CrazyMan @1forall

Tinubu is a freedom fighter because he was a major actor whose actively participation in liberating and emancipating the nigeria masses from the stranggle hold and fetters of pdp cannot be under emphasised.

The people of Osun must be enjoying this freedom, especially the civil servants.
