magoo10:Problem is immunity. According to Nigerian laws, you can't be arrested while in power (as a Governor and President ) |
NaijaRoyalty:Ode ni e. Who's your father ? After elections, you'll go back to your suffering and smiling. Just because bubu is not the way, you think recycling this corrupt old man is the way. When would people your age become leaders of tomorrow with this attitude ? |
ikechizoba:Do you have scanned copies of your certificates ? |
HigherEd:All you have said is correct. But how about we look at it from another angle. The USA system works but it is not perfect because it is fully capitalist in nature. Most families cannot afford to send their children to college making people opt for student loans that they will most likely pay till they die. However, In countries where the government is more involved in the education sector, they will be able to regulate the excesses of a fully profit driven educational enterprise. This would help the masses more than the USA system. And for a developing country like Nigeria, it is easy to exclude a majority of the masses from getting quality education. As it is already, university education is too expensive for a lot of people. State governments are owing salaries not to talk of providing sponsorship for enough of their indigenes to afford such exorbitant fees. There is a high unemployment rate, so sorry, banks won't be loaning you money to go to school. The rich and influential would most likely use any financial aid opportunities for their own children and families (due to our corrupt system). We already have the highest number of out of school children in Africa. Even if you manage to finish secondary school, you'll probably never be able to afford university education. Which keeps you poor and economically challenged and favors the already rich. Same poor person will not be able to afford university for his/her children. And the cycle of poverty continues. |
Mgbadike80:I think the fine is good. Some of these companies do not favour us in any way because they have businesses here and its the government business to ensure we benefit. They probably move all their profit back to their country, pay bogus salary to a few to reduce tax they pay to the government and still employ lots of expatriates that they don't even pay in naira. Add that to normal bribery in Nigeria where we teach them how to evade taxes. They won't run anywhere, they make mad money here and exploit us. Same with the UK coming here. Trust me, its not for your own good but for their own interests. They are leaving the EU and they need new places to trade their products. This would affect our local manufacturers when they flood the market. The government is responsible to make sure the deal favors us by making them setup companies here, employing our people and selling in our currency and other policies. |
dukie25:But what disregard of the rule of law? Has Duara been sacked against the rule of law ? Or was he not guilty of all that he has done? Even if you do not look at his current offense and disbelieve it, what about his past antecedents? Or even Dasuki that embezzled money meant for arms leading to deaths of thousands of soldiers (families of people like you and me )? I am not saying you should like Buhari. But please stop supporting these other criminals, because that's what they are. And the earlier they land in prison, the better for all of us. Or do you think if people like this continue in another regime, things will change for our people ? |
GSA01:Thank you very much. I wonder what if the government can do anything right with Nigerians because it will be twisted. Saraki is not a saint by any means, yet you will see uneducated Nigerians supporting these thieves. These guys are power drunk and they don't care about the masses. We are in a Democratic government and there is little the presidency can do alone. Even if you make a case and arrest them, they already have laws in place to protect them and they can hire the best lawyers. The presidency cannot just jail them, its not military. That's why very few of these guys ever get jailed for their actions, yet you'll see members of the masses supporting these bastards that have sold your future generation. Bad schools, bad roads, healthcare, electricity......corruption every where. Yes, there are cabals in these country even if the presidency is not composed of saints. They are deliberately keeping you stupid so you can support them when they give you small food just like dogs. The presidency has a right to sack this daura bastard because what he did against government orders is reputation damaging and the same people like you would have blamed the government for it making saraki looking like a victim. Think Nigerians! People are behind these fulani herdmens and other killings going on in Nigeria. Don't waste your vote in 2019 to recycle the same set of people keeping you underdeveloped. |
zibe:Check the TLS Nigeria website for the cost. It may have changed. I applied in TLS Ikeja branch (Lagos). |
Hardlife:May God help you sir. I would not claim to be a therapist or anything but I'm sure there are good resources online on stopping gambling as an addiction. First, I thank God for you that you're able to recognise this addiction and that you want to stop it. Its going to be hard, you're going to find yourself slipping sometimes, but don't give up. Even when you fall back to it, once you remember your goal, just stop. Also, 1. I think you should get yourself really busy with either school or business and surround yourself with good people, people you want to be like. 2. You should work in close collaboration with your family too and let someone be responsible for checking up on you. Don't hold lots of money. Tell your family to pay school fees for you by themselves. 3. Buy a non smart phone. Keep the smart phone with a friend who knows of your addiction. You can come use it under his supervision. 4. Block all betting websites from the smart phone. 5. Get closer to God (I don't know what religion you follow) 6. Reward yourself. If you're able to go two weeks without betting for example, treat yourself out to a nice meal. 7. Whenever you feel the urge, have friends of standby who you can talk to. I pray God makes it easy for you. I wish you the best |
Paperwhite:Well, EFCC cannot do anything now because we have laws to protect criminals. You might want to learn more about immunity (while in power) to protect people like him. Youths have to start getting involved more, to know the law and the lawmakers. |
It's better you love and accept your body as it is. It'll get bigger as you gain more weight though. I used be a little conscious of my breast size before marriage. But it turns out my husband loves it just that way. In fact, he adores it. Dear, try to learn to love it like that and be confident. |
Visa Type - Tier 2 (Work visa - 2 years) Visa application center - TLS Ikeja First Visa Timeline (Priority): 16th April: Submitted online 19th April: Went for biometrics (prime-time) 19th April: Application received in Sheffield Email 20th April: Application with ECO for a decision 28th April: Decision made 30th April: Passport ready for pickup (Refusal) Reason for refusal : English language proof not accepted. I had put my degree certificate and transcripts but it was rejected. I needed to obtain UK NARIC statement of comparability and English language assessment for that degree certificate and a document from my university stating that my degree was taught in English. My degree was obtained in one of the federal universities here in Nigeria. Second Visa Timeline (Super priority -24 hours) : Obtained all the necessary documents to meet English language requirements as stated above. 13th May: Submitted Application Online 14th May: Went for bio-metrics (walk-in appointment) 15th May: Passport ready for pick up mail from TLS (I got the visa) I noticed nobody has posted about super priority here before so I decided to share my experience. You could say it did take 24 hours even though I had been refused before. Good luck to you all. |
Prognose:Funny thing is, it has now been seen that women also cheat as much as men. They also get tired of sleeping with one man but societal expectations, love and maturity (its not good for the family unit ) stops them from exploring. In societies where they are sexually progressive these days, we can infer that women sleep around as much as men and fight not to be called whores because of that. I'm not advocating for both parties to be adulterous, I'm just saying it takes God, upbringing and self control to be faithful in marriage. |
STRETCH22:The questions are based on what is in the homestudy curriculum. Just study it well and you should be able to answer most of the questions. Goodluck |
Atom57:Thanks. So if one has to leave the fellowship before four years due to unforseen circumstances, what will be the penalty ? |
tosyne2much:. While I have no problem with your first paragraph, you may need to tone it down a bit in the second one. First, its not only men who are richer than their wives that abuse them. We have such men across all classes of race, religion and financial class. Because you are broke does not make you a good man nor does it mean you will appreciate your wife more. And while I don't support gold digging or marrying a man just for money without considering other things like his character and upbringing, a woman does not have to be insulted because er husband is richer than her or she's financially dependent on him. You cannot copy the west in the parts that suit you alone. How many of you Nigerian men can share house chores with your wife? Since she's bringing in the same as you. In some families where both spouses are working, one sometimes stops due to the demanding nature of their work to have more time for the kids, could be the father or mother. Even some couples abroad make this decision and decide to live on a single income while bringing up children in a good manner. Also, a woman can decide to be a full time housewife, part time housewife or a full career woman, she doesn't deserve to be insulted as long as this decision is made with her partner. At the end of the day, what works for family A is different from what works for family B. I agree with your suggestion to the OP though, one has to be really careful, so you don't rush out of the marriage later. |
Ifymma:When she dies, this person will not be there to serve jail time with you ![]() |
Op, do not commit murder by abortion. If she does not want to marry you, its fine. But she should keep the baby. Tell her you'll support her every step of the way. If she insists she's aborting, I hope you know abortion is against the Nigerian law. If she dies, you are in trouble, no one will remember/hear that you offered to marry her. Nobody in her family probably knows she's pregnant now and if they eventually find out, you are in trouble. To be on he safe side, inform her family members (maybe sisters ) and let them know you are taking responsibility for the baby but their sister wants to abort. Don't give her money for it. Leave them to make their decision. |
Babadee30:Thanks I'll do just that. |
Good morning guys, I got invited into bootcamp but I fell sick on Saturday and was hospitalized. Got discharged this morning though but I cant make it today. |
dammieco:You may be right. But do you think universities just get funding for research just like that? I believe only an institution where promising research has been going on gets such funds in order to produce more results. Nobody just gives out $2m dollars like that, its an intervention for further research and I think its more than "some" masters student. Cancer is quite a serious disease that other scientists all over the world are trying to find effective cures. |
Me four , looking forward to seeing you guys there. Anyway, there are some things i want to confirm. From my understanding of the mail, campus-based self-learning clinic starts Monday 8th, followed by 3 days home-based self-learning (9-11th) and then one full day (Friday 12th) on campus focused on building software products in teams and selection of participants into week two (15th-19th) of boot-camp. Any contrary opinions? |
nachan:It would be better to ask from trustworthy neighbours or people around you in Ketu for the fastest route. Show them the address. I can only give directions from oshodi but I'm not sure that's the fastest route. Take a bus going to oshodi from Ketu. From oshodi, ask sellers or people in the motor park where to get bike to ilupeju. Tell the bike man you are going to mutual benefits assurance building, the one with sterling bank signage, ikorodu road or town planning. Its just 100 naira from oshodi. Good luck |
Hi guys, I got an invite for the interview today . I'm so excited!!! Anyone else? Lets pray we make it to the very end |
