I cannot believe that a rational person will defend Ogun State government.

Alagbole-Akute road construction has been on for the past 7 years after they pulled down people's houses without compensation.

It's even painful that Agbara that generates a significant fraction of Ogun State revenue has bad roads littered all over the place.

Sincerely, I don't know what Ogun State government is doing with her huge internally generated revenue
Talk about your East. You no fit talk. You insult person who draws attention to the problems of the east. Why drag Ogun state into this?

I'm a South-Westerner living in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State and I can attest to the infrastructural development and transformation of the state by Governor Dave Umahi.
Gov Umahi is not only brilliant but also a good manager of scarce funds.
He arranges his projects in order of priority.

He has just completed an ultra modern water supply project in EBONYI state.
In one oil producing state in the east, there is no modern system for public water supply except for the state capital. Private water boreholes reign all over the state.

He is also building a massive modern hospital called the ebonyi state teaching hospital look at the scale of the development.
One Oil producing state in the east could not build its university teaching hospital it established about 17 years ago. Its teaching hospital exists only in name. Parochial clan things are behind it.

Up up gov Umahi. Up up Enonyi State.

One state in the east has been scraping, rebuilding, scraping and rebuilding its Douglas, Wethrel, Ekeonunwa, etc Roads in the state capital every few years, no infrastructures. Other towns outside the state capital are like no-go areas .

A second modern city after Enugu fast emerging in Enugu state.
In my Imo state, we still scrap and rebuild Douglas Road, Wethrel roads in state capital every few years. The small stadiums other governors built outside capital city are crumbling because they are not in capital city.

Evil and wickedness is in your DNA.
Only Igbo people who were able to show evidence that they had bank account with Nigeria bank before the war were given £20, not every Igbo.

Of course, Awo knew then that only a few Igbos would produce such evidence, the Igbos having been displaced frequently from one town to another as refugees during the war.

Falae who is gunning for Yoruba President of Nigeria knows that OBJ as president was not able to change the skewed political structure and governance system established by northern military dictators.

Give Falae a Northern stooge from Yoruba as next week, south of Nigeria still remains onlookers toward northern politicians moves.

Nigeria’s skewed political structure and unitary governance system are reasons for the struggle over which tribe produces president at every turn.

If Yoruba wants to secede from Nigeria, Middle belt will fight us.

See old man Falae, lying to himself and to his children and grand children, as he blackmails North to make Yoruba man succeed Buhari as president of Nigeria.

Truth is that if many groups in the Middle belt are given a chance, they shall secede from Nigeria.

The Orient Garden City
The Orient is designed as City on land 100 hectares of table land, to guarantee the optimal ambience of its dream.

This size of land when completed its site and services, would represent the visionary cardinal points, intentioned to complete the city and maintain a long-term benefit for the promoters and her subscribers.

Orient garden would be zoned in three (3) arms. These arms would confidently and comfortably represent the CARDINALS, (WORK, PLAY AND LIVE).

Zone 1 – THE CRAFT
In this zone, we intend to subdivide it in two(2) established standard as A and B.

A) Would consist of commercial center. This would house the iconic structure where you would find the MORDEN OFFICES, partitioned to suit every intention of wide variety of subscribers, both formal and informal businesses.

This same area would house THE CINEMA, THE POLICE POST, CRECH NURSERY, SHOPPING MART, PHARMACY, SPAR, LOUNGE AND SHORT STAY APARTMENTS, managed by a world class facility management company.

B) This area would be clearly delineated from the commercial center to house the recreation centers, strictly for residence and their visitors. In this facility, you find the swimming pool area, sporting areas including gym and fitness center, long tennis, football pitch and golf course.

Zone 2- THE BOURGEOIS
The severe gap for the emerging middle class to have a quality and secured environment for their housing needs has necessitated the creation of this environment in THE ORIENT. This community would house the middle class.

The plots on this area is between 500sqm to 900sqm, designed to either house a single unit dwelling homes on 500sqm or 2 units homes (single units detached or semi detached homes) on 900sqm.

Green areas, gardens and parks, play pen would be a common symbol associated in this environment with a massive green belt.

The streets on this zone would be named after some prominent Imo daughters, mothers or wives.

Zone 3 – THE GRANDEUR
This community would be the flagship, the cynosure of the projects. The plots on this community are from 1350sqm to 1800sqm, spread to accommodate individual luxury, including gym, tennis courts, swimming pool and gardens.

Apart from the common garden, parks and walkways, there would also be an OBI (a common assembly) that consist of private Lounge, meeting rooms, pool area and gym. There would be a mini golf course and long tennis court.

The street here would be named after imo prominent sons and fathers.

Nice concept for urban expansion of Owerri, but hopefully, must be done by PRIVATE DEVELOPERS SO THAT IMSG SHALL PUT SCARCE FUNDS INTO PROVIDING LIFE SAVING INFRASTRUCTURES LIKE PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY SYSTEMS, URBAN DRAINAGE AND ROADS TO REST OF IMO STATE NOW UNDER DECADENCE.

They didn’t create Imo state to make Orlu and Okigwe to go into extinction for Owerri state capital.

Many state capital cities in the US and other countries are less developed than other cities in the same state.

Turn by turn development policy in Imo state, beginning with state capital, hatched and sold to successive state governors of Imo state, is a most deceptive development policy which is sending Orlu and Okigwe to near extinction. It’s not different from Apartheid development policy abolished in South Africa.

If Imo is a state steered by true humans between 2007 and 2019, people of Imo state should have coerced the two governors to reconstruct this road to IMSUTH in Orlu Imo state. The animals asking IMSG for flyovers and skyscrapers in Owerri would not raise dust against IMSG because of this road.
But after a bout of illness and they die in the skyscrapers, due to absence of a good hospital in Imo state, their bodies get thrown into a rickety downstairs morgue.

Do you verify your facts? IMSU was established in 1981. Chief Evens Enwerem was governor of Imo State for less than 6 months from 1992 to 1993.
Chief Evan Enwerem was Governor of Imo state for 20 months between 1991 to 1993.

Chief Evan Enwerem established IMSU in Owerri temporarily, he saw FUTO, AICE and Imopoly in Owerri then.

Since then, selfish or lily livered politicians from Orlu zone have not been able to remove IMSU from Owerri. Ohakim who called IMSU a pigsty could have removed IMSU from Owerri if he had 2nd term.

Yes, Brother. Although I have reservations about your constant clamour for water project, but we are now seeing the clear picture. We now understand what you've been saying all these while.

Unfortunately, Hope is looking hopeless in that regards and seems to be following the footsteps of his predecessors.

We only HOPE he retraced his steps back and do the right thing.

Imo state is even too small both in landmass and population size to be lacking development. We should be setting a standard in road construction, academic achievements, health and hospitality.

Anambra has the highest number of tarred rural roads in Southeast, I'll argue this anywhere. Ebonyi state government is already building "for the future" with long lasting construction works, what can we hold on to as government achievements in Imo state?
In bold:[ Imo state is too small to lack social infrastructures]. Apt.

Greedy govs and their accomplices in civil service have fleeced Imo state - dry, especially since 2007.

As for water supply you say you have your reserve on:
have you seen any town in Europe, SE Asia, North Africa or America without public water supply system? I have not seen.
Why must black Africans in Nigeria continue to sink their own private water boreholes, consume untreated deadly water from water boreholes?

Glad. Many people from Imo state on this thread are beginning to understand the tricks Imo governors play on us especially since 2007 when Obasanjo stopped
Ifeanyi Ararume from succeeding Achike Udenwa as governor.

Since then, governors started to do a few roads and bridges in the state capital. Some of us clapped: Imo state is developing, as sycophants of the governors, mostly the last governor of eight years posted roads and bridges in Owerri online.
It’s organized gang.

But rest of Imo state outside the state capital rot, as funds that should be for infrastructures for rest of the state disappeared.

Any one who watches the recent video on government development projects in the three senatorial zones of of Ebonyi state must weep for Imo state.

Can you imagine the insincerity. He couldn't do it throughout 8years until it was about one month to the end of his tenure. If this isn't to create problem for the next governor, I wonder what is. Such selfishness and wickedness.

I've always wondered if Eastern Palm University is a private university or a public university. From your answer, now I know it is a public university.

I have never entered IMSU before, but I've heard news of them lacking structures and all. Rather than converting the Eastern Palm University into a new university, what stops the Imo state government from using it as a campus of IMSU, then open another campus in Okigwe.

That way, IMSU will reduce the pressure on its structures in Owerri while expanding its frontiers to other zones in the state. Also, other zones will feel the presence of government in the name of a university. The presence of these campuses in those zones will also bring about positive ripple effect to the communities around it.

Schools even in developed countries have campuses in various states, so it won't be a new thing. Those different campuses will run different courses and anyone applying will know where he/she will be based of given admission. iMSUTH can retain its presence in Orlu for medical students. O gu go

#Imo Must Be Better#
Online, I have read many learned people from Owerri write that IMSU still remains in Owerri because most of the politicians from Orlu zone lack vision, only politik for their private interests and immediate family.

Rochas program was to build and own a private university while serving as governor. Where has such a thing ever happened?
PoliticsRe: Few Pics From Imo State by kikake: 12:29am On Jul 04, 2020
Lol. After 8 years as governor, about one month to leave office, Rochas pronounced many sites as university and polytechnic; unarguably to make Nd’Imo remove eyes from the multi billion Naira Eastern Palm University in his hometown built with IMSG funds while he was governor.

If Rochas had earlier converted Eastern Palm University to become campus of Imo state university, or a new state university, he would have been a Johnny-do-good for Imo state university which has had no real university structures more than 20 years after it was established on a very wrong site by former governor Evan Enwerem .

Enwerem met FUTO, AICE and Polytechnics Nekede all in Owerri, saw better developed university premises in Orlu, yet he established IMSU in Owerri.
Rochas wanted to build and own a private university while serving as state governor. E don happen, what is the condition of Eastern Palm University today?

To lessen the volume of street traders on Douglas road, your mentor who saw Owerri as only place to develop in Imo state should have created new layouts with urban facilities like running water, electricity and paved urban roads in the outskirts of Owerri.

Instead, he went to demolish inner city relics in Owerri town centre to build multi lane boulevards with roofs on roads.

APC national were fighting against Okorocha because of 2023 election so he was doing federal projects with State money to attract federal presence.
... and APC national was not made up of foolish people.

Who in his right mindset could justify the acts of a state governor using scarce funds of a state to build federal projects without prior agreement with federal government for reimbursement?

Who in his right mindset would not fight off a state governor who deliberately destroyed his state’s university teaching hospital as the teaching hospital lost accreditation; a governor who watched floods ravage a whole portion of his state in the same area the teaching hospital was located without urban drainage system, even scrapped and abandoned many roads in the same area.

Leaders in Orlu zone swore earlier that Okorocha’s son-in-law would not be allowed to succeed Okorocha as governor of Imo state. The rest is history.

Gulak and Oshiomwole did not come without reason to ensure that Okorocha was denied quasi 3rd term he sought through his son-in-law.

Chino someone wrote this and it's quite insightful. Sincerely I was looking for the changes and found it mostly in Abakiliki, Nsukka and Orlu.
Rochas actually destroyed nearly all the existing development projects of government in Orlu.

The university teaching hospital at Orlu was brought to its knees by Rochas who deliberately abandoned the only road to the hospital, deliberately owed doctors in order to make them leave the hospital.
The teaching hospital lost accreditation under Rochas.
Rochas excavated many roads in Orlu, abandoned them after he dualized three small roads leading to his Ideato from Orlu. Those three roads are what you see as Rochas opened up Orlu. Was Orlu closed before Rochas as governor?

Mostly Hand works of Peter Obi, Chris Ngige, Chinwoke Mbadinuju.
They decentralized development and development institutions to many parts of Anambra state.

Imo state politicians live in the state capital with their families.

For their enjoyment and enjoyment of their family members they bring to Owerri, Imo political leaders concentrate all development institutions, including six universities and polytechnics on the souls of Owerri state capital, water supply project only in the state capital, all three federal housing estates in Owerri, market after market in Owerri.

Outside Imo state capital Owerri, it’s more or less like after the civil war.

If it were during military rule era, governors of Imo state must have been summoned to CGS office in Abuja for question regarding how they underdeveloped the larger section of Imo state.

Neighboring Imo state has been building Owerri state capital since 1976.

Worse, the once urban Okigwe and Orlu have been abandoned, both carefully relegated to rural areas status.

Owerri people clap for the governors.
