Terrorists are either killed or incarcerated in jail. By the time Sokoto Caliphate and Kanem Borno empire of Islamic Sharia criminal justice system finish with converting Nigeria to a country run with Islamic Sharia criminal justice system, the people of the south and Middle belt of Nigeria shall remain with mouth agape.

Abagworo:If Okwudor, Ahiara, Akokwa, Nkwerre, Amaigbo etc in Imo state that have no common water supply system, no urban infrastructures, are branded urban centres by you, a sincere person should know that you are the mad person here. Your overthrown crew did not even understand that Owerri without a public water supply system is not fit to be described as modern urban center. Anuohia who eats only by doing mercenary job for public office holders. |
Aru n’eme n’Imo state since 1999, worse, since 2007: with development infrastructures, every Imo governor first appeases most vocal and most aggressive Owerri people; thereafter, the governor takes home the bulk of the wealth of the state. Owerri people pleased by the governor will not ask questions. The system has been institutionalized in Imo state. |
TEDHorsePower:You show Imo people Awka, show them Onitsha, show them Nnewi, all modern cities. But all some of Imo folks here now charmed, married and enslaved by Owerri people want to see here is Owerri. Since 2007, governors emerged for Imo state, each builds boulevards and other structures in Owerri, build one or two markets and few rural roads outside Owerri. Owerri folks sing Alleluia to the governor, sell a plot of land in Owerri for million upon million Naira. Some sheepish folks that are not from Owerri also join in the Alleluia. Since 2007, Imo state had received more than N5 trillion for infrastructural development of the state, where is the money? No good road outside Owerri, no water supply, infrastructures in rest of Imo state outside Owerri remain like civil war era. |
sanctity454:More than 90% of Imo state, except Owerri, have no common public water supply system, that’s why people don’t build commercial houses outside Owerri, but you ask IMSG to map out layout for quasi skyscrapers, unarguably, in your Owerri. Going maniac over urban sprawl in Owerri? Look beyond Imo state and see how neighboring states are developing their many urban centres. Every Imo governor gets tied up on urban development of Owerri. Blind folks sing Hallelujah. |
sanctity454:Let Uzodinma open a new University in Omuma, Oru East, but leave Imopoly in Umuagwo. This his arrangements can never last. All universities in Imo state can’t be made to be at the doorsteps and benefit of Owerri and its people. Tell the usual story:Umuagwo is in Orlu zone. But majority of people in Orlu zone know better. Umuagwo is next door to Owerri. The majority of people in Orlu zone deserve a closer and full government university. Next governor after Uzodinma shall upturn this his arrangement. |
Abagworo:Commendable. Ha ha ha. This is like what an average person from Owerri zone will like to hear: people from rest of Imo state outside Owerri zone, contribute to build roads in your areas, while IMSG builds boulevards all over Owerri area; contribute to build your water supply and dig private boreholes for water, while IMSG builds or maintains existing water supply projects in Owerri zone. Governors from Orlu and Okigwe zones, dualize or reconstruct road leading to your respective villages, return to build Owerri to Tokyo or to London status first and foremost. It’s like a generational curse on some people and some political leadership in Imo state since Mbakwe left. |
Who cares to know that the security system in a quasi unitary governance system is behind the insecurity in Nigeria? Who cares to know so long as crude oil proceeds from the Niger Delta flow in to Abuja for the political class to enjoy? |
A bold step in the right direction. |
sosospence:Ha ha ha. Okorocha beautified Owerri truly, but after that, he was refused 3rd term by Owerri, followed by a huge crowd of Owerri people led by Onyeagocha declaring Okorocha a ‘persona non grata’ in Owerri - enemy of Owerri. Okorocha took Orlu people as inconsequential. |
sirp9898:That’s all. Let gov Uzodinma perform more than his predecessors. |
CanadaOrBust:Not people of Imo state call him Supreme Court governor. We know those who do. There has been the fraudulent practice to paint Imo state as Owerri zone. It started since 2015 when nearly alll federal allocations to Imo state and its 27 local government areas started to be put into development of only Owerri capital territory. The governor who did that thought that if more people see how his government developed Owerri, they will usher him in to become president of Nigeria to succeed Buhari. |
Before 2007, Imo state university teaching hospital Orlu was classed among the best 10 teaching hospitals in Nigeria. It was a beehive of activities then. Udenwa who established it left office in 2007. Today, Imo state “prides” itself as the only state in Nigeria which established a university teaching hospital about 18 years ago, but has no university teaching hospital today. The teaching hospital was sabotaged by a clan which believes that every important government institution of a state must be in the state capital. Why was main IMSU at Owerri developing, whereas its teaching hospital was grounded? If we have learned that not all government institutions must be in the state capital, let’s now complete and equip the teaching hospital. |
Rich people escorted by Nigeria Police, at war. This one no be war between poor men of two communities. |
COMPAQ:One former governor of Imo state could have been pressured to buy, and he would buy, this machine to paint Owerri streets, while workers and pensioners in the state are owed months of arrears of salaries and pensions, as people live by dilapidated urban roads in Orlu and other areas of the state. |
Dedetwo:Gigantic cities like Miami and Jacksonville are in the state of Florida in the USA. Little town Tallahassee is the capital of the state of Florida. Google “many US state capitals are less developed than other cities in the same state.” Get some education. No law says that a state capital must be the benchmark for development in the state. Your Owerri benchmark falsehood was manufactured in Owerri and imposed upon the lesser endowed persons like you who swallowed it hook, line and sinker. Rest of Imo state deteriorate. Come home to Nigeria: nearly every government development infrastructure you see, for example, in Asaba, is in Warri, all in Delta state. People of Anambra state talk about Onitsha, Nnewi, Awka etc in modern development infrastructures. In Imo state, primitive and local men like you with poor education and poor worldview, daily tell us that Owerri is capital of Imo state, therefore must be developed first by government before any other place in Imo state. People like you are content with Owerri hosting all government institutions in Imo state, thus cause stagnation of Orlu and other places in Imo state. You frequently talk backwater Orlu, but without knowing that you are insulting yourself. |
Wiseandtrue:Words on marble. Nothing I have to add. |
Imo state is notorious for huge wages on pensions and salaries but no government development facilities outside the state capital. Any measures to drastically cut down the wage bill are welcome. How can Imo state exist for more than forty years with federal allocations but no common amenities like drinking water and good roads outside the state capital? |
InvertedHammer:Roads in Orlu as Mechanics’ friends. Apt. Gov Uzodinma noticed that early and mentioned it in a speech shortly after he became governor. Scores of these urban roads in Orlu were carefully planned and built in the 1970s. Former governor Okorocha once said that Orlu will never experience the type of traffic jam of Owerri because of the many well laid urban roads of Orlu. Hopefully, gov Uzodinma shall soon come to the rescue here. |
Dedetwo:You remind me of those Yoruba e-rats who take delight in telling Igbos: “go back to your Erosion ravaged Igbo land.” These people are so stupid that they don’t understand that when one part of one’s country is sick, rest of the country is affected one way or the other by the sickness. You are like them. Why do you want only Owerri to be the only modern city in Imo state? Every time you write “backwater Orlu” as you insult because one asked for development projects in Orlu, you demonstrate that you are terribly sick. |
Dedetwo:If not that you are totally against development of any other place in Imo state except Owerri, what is wrong with the request for asphalt of Orlu and Okigwe urban roads? Look yourself in the mirror, you are abnormal. |
Gov Uzodinma oooo... More grease to your elbows. Remember, we are waiting for your action on what you earlier promised to do: asphalt for the urban roads in Orlu and Okigwe. There are more than twenty urban roads without asphalt in Orlu but with houses fully built on both sides of the roads. Imo needs a second modern town, or more, for its people to build houses and settle. Success is yours. |
GOFRONT:Why couldn’t late Mohammed acquire more wives like others like him and keep them in a Harem? Poverty? |
sanctity454:Good job. There have been many suggestions for gov Uzodinma to dualize this road from Oru East through Orlu to Nkwerre to make for one bigger metropolis after providing pipe borne water here. People of Imo state need a new modern town to build and settle in. |
I sanctity454:During the last 20 years or so, all types of intervention constructions had taken place to stop flooding and destruction of roads around this St Joseph Church area in Umuna, but because the flood control tunnel started by Ikwechegh government to channel floods into the Orashi valley was not completed, floods continue to destroy many areas around the Church. Hopefully, gov Uzodinma shall complete the tunnel so that the floods problem is solved completely. |
festacman:Sure. Ngige quickly took to work on most of Anambra state and gained popularity. But Gov Uzodinma so far seems to be repeating the mistakes of Rochas - please the stronghold of the opposition. Rochas literally governed Owerri area to please the base of his opposition. At last, he lost out. |
wingmanIII:Ignorance is a bliss for some people. Hope Uzodinma is now the governor of Imo state. Calling him Supreme Court governor is like insulting yourself also. You wait till 2023 to sack him. |
B2mario:We are talking about the universities and polytechnics declared by former governor Okorocha during the last 3 or 4 months of his administration. There was none declared then at Okporo. Instead, a sign board reading: Imo state university Orlu, was placed during that period by Okorocha government at the site of the school of Hygiene at Okporo. |
But are they not going home since oil no longer fetches money? BBC says of alarming new born baby death rates in oil producing areas of Nigeria. Unless abokii from northern Nigeria, who else in Nigeria still believes in Niger Delta crude oil as source of sustenance for Nigeria? |
James4bright:I shall get unhappy if Mbaise roads are filled with potholes while governors of Imo state, one after the other, concentrate on maintaining and expanding roads on the state capital Owerri. But bear in mind that Orlu and Owerri were not very far different in levels of urban development when Imo state was created. If normalcy existed in Imo state, Owerri and Orlu would have developed on near same speed. But successive governors of Imo state denied Orlu the stimulant development infrastructures like public water supply, tertiary education institution, asphalted urban roads and drainage system. Before Imo state was created, there was public water supply system in Orlu. After the present Imo state was created, public water supply stopped in Orlu, but continued in Owerri. |
Great people of Ebonyi state with great governor Umahi. Great job. In 18 years after Imo state established a university teaching hospital at Orlu, there is hardly any building befitting a university teaching hospital. It’s nearly all shanty houses converted from an old general hospital. Why? Owerri sabotages the teaching hospital because Owerri believes that every government institution must be in the state capital, Owerri. |
