So Mukina and co decided to remove that thread afterall, I hope your legal advisers have a good reason, because from where I stand and all I've read about this issue, it is totally unnecessary.

I doubt any constitution anywhere prevents us from shaming those who deserve the shame. What do I know undecided

I believe issues like these present good teachable moments. Nairaland is arguably a microcosm of our society, and should be invested in ensuring that this kind of dialogue and exchange is open and fair. Just saying.(I'm sure plat does not think it's fair but she ain't coming here to say so)

Hey, Bia, Wo, Look here bros, Shittu go and read my earlier post or that of Kilode and you will leave the Almajiris alone for starters. Your problem is not fundamentally the Almajiris or homeless. It is the Scholars who distort your message, the ones who brain wash the Almajiris during prayers (or after in any order), the ones who generalise personal hurts, the Politician who has something against you but takes it out on your kinsmen living up north or the innocent, the ones who make sweeping statements to the press and sell sensational headlines, the one who read a certain portion of the quaran to the innoncent, brainwash and arm thm with some cash and some swords, etc. I can go on but I dey for work now but please leave those Almajiris first and face the real culprits.

Let's deal with the root then we can sort out the feeble and visible branches later o.k.
I can only hope he/they will listen.

Why is the violence only erupting from the north all the time.? There about the same numbers of muslims on the South West as there are in the north, why dont we see the same kinds of violence erupting there?
#Javalove. . .unless otherwise stated. . .!
Good point! That is the Question!

Although I will argue that it is not education per se, I believe it is cultural.

I think the unique acculturation of my brothas and sistas in the North through their unfortunate contact with Arab Muslims centuries ago led to their alignment with this violent, "winner takes all" Arab interpretation of Islam and religion in general.

Arabs corrupted my northern brothas/sistas mind centuries ago. But I see hope though.

Javalove, Good Muslims like you have a lot of work to do, I think you have a responsibility to teach those in the middle-east(Xtians, Jews, Muslims). They all need to come to the South-West and learn how to be religious without being murderers) cool

(forget those our yeye politicians o, I'm speaking distinctively about culture and religion) grin

The South-West is about equally divided between Muslims and Christians.

They(South west folks, Yorubas and other transplated people grin) grew up in communities where Muslims and Christians celebrate and worship together in peace, Yeah, sometimes they fight, but I blame those rare occurrences on those who bought into the Arab, mid-east, warlike interpretation of religion.

Our culture is the secret. Javalove, tell them that when you see them.

Kai, I go write thesis o. shocked cool

That makes a lot of sense. Since these sect have displayed a dangerous proclivity for violence and extremism, it would have been logical to jail them in states where there is no sympathy for either their behaviour or their sect.

They should have taken those Boko-Haram prisoners away from Northern Nigeria Prisons or at least away from the Borno-Bauchi area.

The proximity to their comrades could be too tempting for the miscreants.

Did the courts try them before jailing them?

Yes, he is indeed and he has always been. However, there is one definite truth:
. . .This man is the only lawmaker that is intelligent, genuine, honest and truly representative of the people. In Obahiagbon, Edo state has rare gold dust.
You are right.

If folks can labour to push aside the big words and the eccentric acts of Obahiagbon, They may not find a more focused, more sensible legislator from Edo state(prob Nigeria).

However, Jakumo will have a very difficult time convincing me he is not Obahiagbon hiding behind a NL username. grin shocked cool

cap28:
well if the hausa fulani are so stu.pi.d as to think that the arabs of north africa and the arabian peninsula regard them as equals then let them keep dreaming, Omar al bashir is not a full blooded arab - him and his genocidal cabinet are mainly half arab half african but in order to please their masters in saudi arabia, syria, jordan etc they murder, r.ape and destroy whole african communities inspite of this their masters in the arab world do not regard them as their equals. Here are some quotations about black africans from some great arab minds such as Ibn Khaldun, Ibn Sena and Osama Bin Laden:

Ibn Khaldun sees the blacks as “characterized by levity and excitability and great emotionalism” and [says] that “they are everywhere described as s.tu.pid” . . .

al-Dimashqi had the following to say: “The Equator is inhabited by communities of blacks who may be numbered among the savage beasts. Their complexion and hair are burnt and they are physically and morally abnormal. Their brains almost boil from the sun's heat.”

Ibn al-Faqih al-Hamadhani follows the same line of reasoning. To him . . . the zanj [black Africans]. . .are “overdone until they are burned so that the child comes out between black, murky, malodorous, stinking, and crinkly-haired, with uneven limbs, deficient minds, and depraved passions” . . .”

Ibn Khaldun (d. 1406CE) added that blacks are “only humans who are closer to dumb animals than to rational beings.” . . .

Even such luminaries as Ibn Sina considered blacks to be “people who are by their very nature slaves.”

“All African women are p.rostitute.s, and the whole race of African men are abeed [slave] stock. Your people are like rats plaguing the earth” –Osama Bin Laden

Darfur should be a lesson to all so called african muslims - when the chips are down the arabs do not regard them as their equals let alone their brothers. A word is enough for the wise.

One day Black Africans will understand the intentions of Qaddafi and his Imperialist Arab Brothers. I just hope it won't be too late.

Qaddafi cares about black Africans about as much as a diarrhea patient cares for toilet paper.

We (Black Africans)are sandwiched between two liars with an agenda (Europe/Arabia).

They nearly annihilated our religion, culture and dignity. Now they want to complete the destruction with a masterstroke.

Believe what you want, Neither Qaddafi nor the West care about you.

maybe you did not watch the late Night Show where George Bush was yabbed for pronoucing Irag, I raq! when making comparisons be sure you know what youare talking about, why have you not seen people with bad accent  present and no knowledge about what they are presenting on cnn, bbc, sky?
wake up man, DSTV out of trying to satisfy Nigerians have ended up disgracing Nigeria with those presenters, Neo-colonialism ko, matrix colonialism ni!
I have no problem with you disagreeing with his analyses. I believe my post said "his football analysis is another issue" read it again( just to be sure you know what you are talking about). I have no problem with condemning his analyses. BUT dissing your Nigerian brother's Nigerian accent that way is self-hate in my books.

Don't confuse the issue, if you think his analyses are not up to par, speak about that, leave accent and pronunciation out. A Nigerian shouldn't have to borrow a foreign accent to appear on a TV program broad-casted to millions of Nigerians just because some of his people hate listening to their own Nigerian accent.

He speaks English like a lot of Nigerians, probably like most Nigerians, and there is nothing wrong with that, even Americans don't speak English or pronounce English words like Britons. Don't give me that George Bush "I raq" example, Americans are proud of their American accent, pronunciation and intonation, obviously you are not happy with yours.
