i got the bmw. Very impressed with its performance, it is no doubt a beast but unfortunately the car has proven to be not durable, it fails to handle the harshness of nigeria, things ranging from average grade fuel which caused me multiple jackings all the way down to portholes. I've had problems with fuel pump, struts, bushings, low arms, cracked rims, and once overheated on my way to kaduna with no apparent reason, the car functioned normally after i let it cool down and it never overheated again. I've replaced the above mentioned parts multiple times. I am soon going to sell the car together with my C230 and go back with my beloved benz, E350 2011. Benz handles nigeria better.

I'd pick the E350 simply because it is faster.

I dont have too much knowledge on transmissions and especially an acura tranny. But two things i can tell here is that mileage is very high so this kind of problem isnt a surprise. I think you should stop driving the car to prevent more damages, you might save some cash.

The airmatic suspension was a nightmare on the w211 V8, on the w212 though, it seems to be more durable, but it also fails and when the so called 'balloon' breaks, you are looking for about almost 200k each. So to be on the safe side i think you should trade power for ur peace of mind. as you've stated the w204 suffers from EIS failure but i havent seen or heard any horror stories about the transmission. Note that the airmatic suspension only comes with the v8 engines, that is E500 and E550. In my opinion i think those engines are too much for nigerian roads. I advice you to go with the E350 which comes with normal shocks and also enjoy that comfort and luxury. I'm planning on going that same route too.

Ive seen this issue on a w211 E500. Is it hard to remove the gear from park and into drive?
