When I see comments that people make about things like this I laugh because it shows how naive they are about international economics.

Foreign airlines have been exploiting Nigerians for years until Air Peace came to break their monopoly. These airlines operate in cliques, and you cannot survive if you’re not in their circle.

Airlines like KLM, Airfrance, and Lufthansa are in the same clique while Emirates and Qatar are in another. Asky Airlines, Egypt Air, and Ethiopian Airlines are in the Star Alliance.

Funny thing is, the shareholders for these airlines are often the same people/conglomerates who offer the illusion of choice. Opting against Airfrance to fly KLM is like choosing not to drink Star but opting for Gulder not knowing they are all Nigerian Breweries.

What am I trying to say? This business move of slashing prices below what the new entrant is offering is something a business-savvy individual can see from a mile away. Big companies like McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, and Standard Oil have made such moves before.

The plan is to reduce prices to frustrate AirPeace out of that route and once they succeed, they will jack the prices back again.
