Recency bias would make most folks choose Osimhen

or one could say History bias is my own problem lol
Osimhen can't be rated yet but if he continues like this then he's on the right track. He has all the potential to be one of Nigerias greats.

Your problem is you are kid who thinks football started when you began watching football.

See the mumu comparing Odegbami to Martins.

A guy who thinks an African must ''make his name in Europe'' to be considered great, even though Nigerian players had zero need to go to Europe in the days of Mathematical Segun Odegbami, when Naira was worth more than the dollar.

Clubs in Europe and even Palmeiras of Brazil wanted Odegbami after the 1980 Cup of Nations we won, and he said NO, because there was NO REASON to leave Nigeria. The Eagles had been showered with money, houses, cars, everything, and were celebrated across the nation. Odegbami came 3rd in APOY rankings 1978. ZERO reason to play abroad. All the Eagles played in Nigerian clubs, and happily so.

You grew up in an era when economic decline led to players flocking Europe.

That's why you now equate a good player with one who has ''made his name in Europe''.

I don't blame you.

Indomie generation!

Don't go and ask your elders about stuff you don't know!

Ask them about Adokiye Amaesimaka. Master dribbler on the left.

In his hey day, this guy was probably the most skilful No 11 in world football.

Small pikin.
Here you go again saying Adokiye Amaesimaka was the most skillfull number 11 in the world during his time grin. This boy ehn. Your case is irredeemable. You know nothing . Someone that only played local football playing with jalisco and secondary school boys nahim you say was the most skillfull number 11 in the world. grin. They suppose hang you.

Oga keep quiet. Nobody is your mate here. Go and look for something else to do and stop watching football. He even made his name more with the green eagles and not the super eagles in case you don't know kid. No wonder you're just using a single incidence in a match to make your judgment. Anybody who knows the history of Nigerian football will even rate osaze above him. You're mentioning nigerian great strikers you're mentioning odegbami even rating him above yekini. You need to be hanged. Na small pikin dey worry you.

I saw the whole video and honestly I can say everything is rubbish. For starter, the Nigeria army is so unskilled, from this video.

They're all bunched up, loads of disorganised and baffled soldiers. Also, why are there no fighter jets doing the strikes, so the soldiers can go in to sort out the whole place instead of risking these soldiers' lives, they're not even clued up on their surroundings.

I can see the anger of the bloke who looks like their leader telling the other team not to fire. Dodgy communication. They're all lurking, no logistics. Zilch cooperation. So tragic!
I swear from the video, they lack coordination. It looked more like a militia group. A militia group would do better self. Communication too was also poor. If this is how nigerian soldiers have been fighting in the north east then no wonder they've been battling them for more than a decade.

You must be crazy.

I blame NTA for not having old Eagles matches to show us.

Segun Odegbami was more than deadly. A striker who could dribble 8 players in a row and still tear the net.

NONE of the strikers we’ve had has been remotely as talented as Mathematical Segun Odegbami.

Yekini scored more goals because he was a centre forward.

Mathematical was an attacking winger on the right.

He was Samuel Chukwueze 2.0

I vividly remember a game we played against Tunisia when Odegbami had the ball on the right, near the touch line. In front of him was a Tunisian defender. As they stood facing each other, a Tunisian player was running fast from behind Odegbami to tackle him from the back. As he approached in speed, Odegbami stuck out his left foot, and the guy continued running, and running! They had to call him back to say “no…he’s still standing there!”

The commentator said “And this is why we call him Mathematical Odegbami”.

He was like a Kanu with speed and energy.
Simple argument you're already bringing insult. Did I call you crazy?

You're just been nostalgic here. Same reason people will keep arguing that Maradona was better than messi. Its just nostalgia, a taste for things of old. You even had to use just one football match to cement your claim. Let's be honest, odegbami was no where near yakubu. He was no where near obafemi Martins. These two guys made a name in Europe and on national level. After yak and obagoal, yekini comes next.

Mathematical Segun Odegbami for me.

I don’t blame you kids of yesterday naming all these akamu players than can’t even trap ball, and ignoring the greatest of all time, the legendary Mathematical Segun Odegbami, the man who almost single-handedly won us our first Nations Cup title in 1980.
You allowed nostalgia to cloud your judgement. Segun odegbami ko. He doesn't come close to at least 5 of those strikers listed up there.

Lol that hype about nigerian soldiers is what many of those kids grew up with. Soldiers wey small boys dey beat anyhow for oshodi. You know say barracks plenty for oshodi environs well. From 9 brigade to about two other barracks around. So most of them who don't live in the barracks and always resume on foot and bikes always collect confirm mending from area boys. Na everyday we dey see scores. Once they receive confirm mending they go con go recruit in large numbers for retaliation. grin. Very lazy people who only make noise in numbers.
