For other non cultist reading this thread. It’s important to note that this is not a debate between good or bad cults, graduate, undergraduate or street members. Cultism is evil in all ramifications and by every standard

There’s nothing to benefit as a cultist that can’t be obtained as a non cultist. Infact I can say without any fear of contradictions that whatever you think you can benefit will not surfice to pay for what you’ll loose in freedom and the potential risks to loosing your life... let me rephrase and say ’potential risk of dying shamefully’!

The cults did go after a few but a lot of people renounced. They couldnt possibly kill everyone of them.

Also the ones who had renounced were providing info to the school/police on the others who didnt.

Unilag has never really been a hotbed for cult violence. In the 90s, they had alot of cultists but much of the fracas then was mainly SUG related.

I would say 'Yele was able to create peace between all the parties, he didnt really eradicate them. Even 'Yele is suspected in some quarters. Remember Prof. was at his trial & also if you google the photos, you'd notice 'Yele dressed abit funny on that day & the photographs caught some spooky handshakes. All that could still be wrong tho.

The eradication of cultism in Unilag was in '99 after it was established boys in Unilag organised the OAU incident. The then VC initiated a fierce & vigorous anti-cultism exercise. The heat became too much for cultists & alot of them renounced at events organised by the school. The cult groups tried to fight back but the school won. Final nail in the coffin for cultism in Unilag was the abolishment of SUG.

This is my opinion based on experience & the little info at my disposal.

But really, why are Aiye members so loud most of the time. I just remembered something that happened 2017 to me and one of my friends. My friend was a Benin guy he just moved to Yenagoa that year with his auntie who was a tailor. This my guy always bragged to me that he was Aiye.

My cousin then told me that he was lucky that they haven't been no single beef between Aiye and Icelanders, whether in Amassoma or PH. If not he would have been a goner. Since then my man no de brag again. E don cool down pass water wen dem put for for fridge. Now I don find out say e no be Aiye sef. Na just cruise.

I doubt if all Eiyes can recite this creed. I know a lot of them that can't string 2 words together in English language not to talk of a sentence and now this creed. Unless they are allowed to recite it in their local languages. I repeat, I know a lot of Eiye guys that even if you shoot them everytime they miss a line, you'll rather kill them than they saying that creed correctly. They just can't learn it @Kingfish542

I think I pointed this out somewhere, monicar came to tell his tales here but got the creed wrong. Also, he mis-matched some nests which someone corrected here. A true SEC member and an officer at that (as he claimed) wouldn't make those two mistakes.
