Comparing a luxury sports with a midsized mid class family hauler is a new lowest level. Compare your shitty bmw with a Benz, Audi, Lexus, Acura, Infiniti Cadillac etc.

Fun fact, I was in 3 BMW WhatsApp group, and most comments were about how their cars broke down and always asking for prices of parts and also mechanics. It got to a stage where even the admin had to start using a toyota, I later discovered over 80% of the members of these group had toyota cars as daily drivers. Bmw fan my foot!

I just changed my Sienna 2005 MODEL GEAR...

THE MECHANIC Said it's 13 0in he changed it to 10 pin... Now gear won't go to reverse unless I first pull to drive then reverse.

I told him Oyinbo that made 13 pin for the car are not stupid...


Please what do you advice.. This guy is frustrating me.. Car was with him for a whole month before this crazy work... I can't even drive it around as I am afraid of further damage.. I just parked in my office. I have spent over 300,000 naira fixing.

Is this idea really worth it?

This is my first time trying to own an SUV. Now, my interest is going towards 2010 Volvo XC90. I know there are other options like highlander and Lexus 2005-2008, Venza, or Honda CR-V 2008-2011.

But I'm not the type of person that follow trends or has bandwagon effect. I must not buy because some people are buying. But reality must come to play about maintenance, resell value and other factors.

What I like about the Volvo products are their sturdy outlook and build, security, the quality of the interior and exterior and their off-road purpose. And from research, their parts don't get spoilt easily like the other japanese cars.

Like I earlier stated, it's my first time trying to own an SUV. I'm not a money bag. Just an average young Man financially.

Wrong assumption. The owner owns a Range Rover and he is fixing it because of Lagos traffic robbers so that they will not focus on him in traffic. The car is full options except for AC. It is going to cost over 200k to put back on the road. As for the BMW, it is a good car. My first ownership was 25 years ago, a 320 series and it was a gift but bringing it to Nigeria was not advisable then and still is. I had the privilege to service the BMW 5 series of the top echelon of the Nigerian Customs in Abuja years ago and it was not funny. Unfortunately for the brand, they have been forced out of the roads, no matter the performance. I only know Dr Ben of Automedics and the late Madmike who knows the car in and out. BMW, Audi, VW, Acura are building permanent structures in Mechanic workshops and Owode, Mercedes is following suit. Just move to Range Rovers. Nice too says lejeun is fixing the brand quietly without looking for tees garage on Nairaland, Instagram and Facebook. Fuel is the major problem of the BMW and nothing else

My Hyundai Accent 2010 cylinder 4 keeps blackening the spark plug.
Also when my engine is fired on idle, there's this clunking sound from the engine.
Mechanic told me the engine block will need to be opened, that my cylinder 4 isn't compressing. That there's current flowing through the coil to the wire.
So please I'll need an insight so as not to get undone by a greedy mechanic.
He also talked about the crankshaft possibly needing cutting or something else which I can't recall.

Please I need advise and a possible cost of the different items he might want to use.

Hello bro.

So I got a gear master to check the wiring on the transmission.

According to him, the brain box had been changed and the wiring wasn't done well. That was the cause of the P0717 error code.

So he fixed it and the error code has disappeared.

But the only problem I have is the gear not still entering 4.

When I'm on 100 km/hr, the RPM gets at high as 4000 and doesn't shift to the last gear which makes the revving sound so high.

What do you think the problem could be?

If it can start the car, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to put your trans in drive and move.

It's akin to having push to start installed.

It was probably installed by previous owner to enable him warm the vehicle interior or cool it down before getting in the vehicle.
