Good evening Gazzuz, kingreign and all the car Gurus. My 2011 Honda Accord could not start again after it stopped on the road it self. I then called an electrician close by to check, after which I saw him direct a wire from the battery to a wire somewhere around the coil, that made the car to start... I guess inorder to delay the work , something then went wrong and the car refuse to start again even with the direct connection. It was getting late I had to towed the car. I invited a different electrician the following morning which he said my ecu is fried. We then got another ECU, the car couldnt read the ECU, the electrician had to check through wires , fuse etc that was touched by the initial technician luckily the ECU is seen and programed to start the car. Now as we started moving, the car the transmission was not smooth and will eventually free it self. I parked and put the shift on neutral and then back to D and it picked and selects well. But it still free it self after a long drive. I took back the car to the electrician which he went to the sensor area and he changed the sensor fuse head or so. The car will now not even select again...I told him why won't the car be the way i brought it so I can at least drive back home but as it is now I can't drive with just gear1. The electrician said its the ECU.. We have now change 5 different ECU and still not selecting gear. Now the the programmer said its the gear box ... I said How. Nothing was wrong with my gear before. The ECU programmer said no transmission error code showing , which means it's from inside the gear. Now am confused... Please I need you help. Thank you

use a camry 2004. Whenever I start it early in the morning or after leaving it for some hours, I hear this rattling noise that stops in 1 or 2 seconds after starting the car. If I start immediately after, it won't make the noise again. The mechanic said it is the top cylinder,I changed it and nothing has changed. The sound is still there. Please has this happened to anyone before and how did you rectify it? It seems some of these mechanics are just doing guess work. Please treat as urgent.

I drive a 2006 Toyota sienna, ok I began noticing black sprays of oil behind my rear hatch(butt).. took it for inspection mech said an oil is leaking.. mumu me haven't been guaging my ATF level.

We check and ATF was completely dried.. I topped two littlers of oando ATF and drove home that night. He said we needed to changed the oil seal..

Haven't had chance to go for change yet..

I don't know if this will require dropping the gear box

Another issue with my car is the wiper. It’s malfunctioning so my rewire have cut the wire under the engine to prevent it from working.

I want to know if it something I can fix by myself or I should give it to a rewire to do it for me?

My Peugeot 307 2003 automatic gear is not reversing. It will start going forward the moment you put to it on reverse. I have been told to go and change the gear to manual that there is no repair for Peugeot 307 automatic transmission gear.

Should I go ahead and change it or I should try and repair it?
What’s your suggestion?

My mechanic suggested that I should change my back brakes, which I did. Now my brakes are worse. I'm told that the master brake is bad.

Good day everyone, this is my first comment on any thread for years on nairaland I want to appreciate the contributors to this thread as it's my favorite in the car talk section.

I have a question I want to ask, people say that the w205 c300 is not suitable in Nigeria due to hydolock issues caused by lack of premium fuel. I see a lot of C300 around recently, how do they cope with the fuel?

I heard some add lead booster,how often are they supposed to do so? and is the c300 reliable in this country if maintained properly?

Or is someone just expected to go with the C400 if none of the issues can be solved?

Good day, I use a 2003 Toyota Camry 2AZ-FE. Recently, the driver side firewall started vibrating when vehicle is on Drive, no vibration on N or P. I changed fuel pump, my electrician washed the fuel pump assy using thinner. The vibration stopped for some days. CEL is on after driving for some time. No CEL at starup. I also noticed increase in fuel consumption. One of the ignition coil is cracked and black tape was used to cover it. The last scanning didn't show any error codes.
