I got a new transmission for my Honda Accord exactly a year ago and it was working and shifting fine till the day I took my car to the mechanic for them to work on my injector mouth,I noticed immediately I left the mechanic my car transmission started shifting at 3rpm when normally it shifts to the next gear between 1.5rpm to 2rpm.please help as this is giving me a serious concern.

You did not specify the year and engine type of your car.

For now, stop driving that car and have it scanned, post codes here and we shall help you tell you what options you have left.

pls i have this noise called vvt rattle on my es 300. it only does on cold start. i have learnt it is a common problem of vvt engines and it is everywhere on youtube. I started noticing it as i clocked 265k miles on my car and she is still going fast. I plan to keep her till 500k miles. The mechs i have showed this problem asked about oil lights, i have none. Check engine light showed one o2 sensor is bad which i am replacing today. I used to have an oil shorting, breaking seals and smoking problems all of which were fixed after i replaced pvc valve and hose. the mechs say the noise is from the cam but i need to know what part of the cam and how many of them that needs to be replaced because i donot want any trial and error that will most certainly ruin this baby. i use fully synthetic 5w 30 which i change every 1500 miles for safety.

You did not specify the year model of your car. Some es300 do not have vvt-I (1991-2000).
That said, you’d need to replace two vvt-I cams and both are situated on the intake cams of the engine.

The single can I bought and threw into my boot has been there since 4 years now na for topping up and to ‘loosen’ stubborn bolts I dey use am do since.

My own brakes function as they are supposed to even after using the same oil for so long but i will still change the fluid to see if I can notice any improvements or changes.

I drive long distances frequently and at high speeds taking frequent turns and dodging potholes and bumps and braking rapidly.

I refresh my pads every 2 years and I haven’t brought my thoughts to changing the oil at the same time too.

Finally I’ve checked my habits of recent and realize I seriously need to change my brake oil asap

When I first poured it in it was bluish but now it’s looking clear It must have ‘belle-full’ from all the moisture it has been absorbing for close to 6 years

My own na anytime I notice slight brake fade or discoloration I Dey change am. I even get 2 cans of DOT4 heavy duty brake fluid inside any car I own.

Having some issues with my camry 2011.
When i start the vehicle and i leave it idling in park, it just goes off on its own.
When in traffic or if i slow down completely once i am ready to move and press the accelerator, the vehicle just stalls with no response and suddenly picks up and jerks forward.
It happens off and on and the engine indicator on the dashboard is on....
I have not had the chance to take it for a scan..

You have a bad venus. When the car is parked for hours and oil settles back into the sump, the noise come up when you start but if you keep the car running and let's say 30min you go back you don't hear the noise..

Oga you’re right, but the complainant drives a toyota and not a BMW. Toyota don’t have anything called VANOS in their car engines, they have Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence (VVT-i).

My wife's cousin is a student in a federal government institution, a monotechnic. I've always noted that the guy is naughty. Recently my wife told me the guy is having issues in his school because he approached his supervisor, a single female lecturer for a relationship. The lecturer warned him to perish the thought but this guy persisted.

Now the female lecturer has refused to continue with supervision of his project and wrote to her head of department to assign him to another supervisor. He just started afresh with a new supervisor while his colleagues have defended their projects two weeks ago.

He called my wife this evening to tell her that final results of his colleagues have been uploaded into the institutions portal while his name was placed under "non-graduating".

I have some questions here.

1. Did this guy commit any offense by "toasting" his female lecturer?

2. Is it right for the department to have denied him opportunity to graduate because of this?

3. Can he complain to the authority of the institution about this? What will he say he did to have been denied opportunity to graduate?

4. Has the department committed any offence against this boy as touching his fundamental human rights?

5. Can he seek legal redress?

Most academic institutions I know give their certificates based on CHARACTER and Learning. The young man obviously lacks good character because of his flirtatious lifestyle.

An exhaust rubbing on a car body can cause vibration, a failing pump can cause vibration, a failed sparkplug can cause vibration, a failed coil can cause same, bad quality fuel, inadequate air intake can cause same, vacuum leaks can cause vibrations, a bad engine or transmission mount, and a few more things can cause vibrations
Stop this non-scientific approach towards solving to science and technology problems.

when that valve goes and fuel is not available if parked for a long period of time is what the man is describing however he says after it is started then the problem disappears even when restarted a short while later . i can bet its the valve in the fuel pump

When Fuel Pressure Regulator (the valve you refer to) fails, the car experiences a multiple crank to build up pressure lost before it starts, what the complainant explains is the Variable valve timing system which manifest in a 1-2 seconds rattle in the engine after the car has been parked for a while and then started again.

Check that the car tyres are properly aligned, the brakes are not binding.
Scan the car post the code we’ll give you advice on what to do.

I have an issue with my 2012 Camry. I noticed yesterday that the R sign on the dashboard blinks when I engage the reverse gear and the vehicle jerks when the reverse gear is engaged as well.

I don’t experience that kick when I shift to Drive, it only occurs when Reverse is engaged.

What’s could be the issue please??

I can’t tell what is the cause. However, I suggest you scan the car, post codes and I’d tell you how to find solution to the problem. In the mean time, please, do not drive the car to prevent further damage to the car.
