OP, point of correction, a Tacoma is never cheaper than a Hilux. Except the Tacoma has fault or its a distressed sales.

A 2005 Tacoma goes for around 5-7m tokumbo. How much does a tokumbo Hilux of that year go for?

The 5-speed transmission that was used between 1995 up to 2008 is one of the best transmission ever built.

Not necessarily transmission problems that makes a benz go limp home.
A brake problem, serious engine problem or electrical malfunction can cause the limp home mode situation.

Your car entering limp home mode indicates that something very serious is damaged or not working as should. And limp mode is meant to take you to the nearest garage or tow area where you can get it to be fixed.

For SUVs behind you,

Using the rear view mirror controls inside the car, slightly raise the side mirror which the glare is coming from and adjust inwards, the reflection immediately goes back to the culprit.

For saloons,

Try to target the reflection from away from you and back to the driver by adjusting the side mirrors ....

Or better still, just use the side mirror controls to raise the side mirror up.

What you're saying is very difficult as long as you're not in the driver's seat of the offending vehicle.

You will be surprised but that guy actually made sense.Y'll buy a car of 20 years with your eyes open and expect it to function 100%, look let me be honest with you, at 150K Km the car m manufacturer would have asked you to replace more than 60% of all moving parts of that car. At 120k km, most manufacturers would have asked you to change ur timing chain/belt. oil pump, water pump, and loads more

PS.Sad part is, most guys will now replace that 20 years old part with another part from a 22 years old car

Ensure that you personally buy the axle yourself if it requires replacement. Then lube with the appropriate oil before mounting again.

Thanks for the information. A 'professional' advised I use mobil 20W50 because the car mileage was above 150,000 miles. He was of the opinion that mobil 5W30 would be too light for the engine of such mileage.
I wouldn't mind to be educated about the choice of oil

Your owners manual specifies 5W30. As long as your car does not burn oil, go for it irrespective of its mileage.

I have a lexus Rx350 2008 model. I noticed a persistent check engine light, flashing VSC and Trac light on my dashboard about 3 days ago . It took the car for a scanning and P0017 (Crankshaft position, Correlation (bank 1 sensor B) was shown.

Recent technical history :
About 6 weeks ago, I contracted a driver to bring the car from Ibadan to Abuja. Unfortunately, the driver burnt my top cylinder gasket midway into the journey. He blamed it on faulty fan belt and water pump.

I got a mechanic to fix it, though I wasn't there. The mechanic suggested the radiator is changed to double cell and the thermostat removed. These were done and the burnt gasket was replaced. The car was managed to get to Abuja, though drove by another driver, despite the ordeal.

When collected my car back, I noticed check engine light, Vsc and trac light were on. I scanned it with these codes p0116, p0128 shown.
It was after I got and fixed another new thermostat and returned the electrical connection back to the factory setting that the P0017 started showing up.
Presently, the no sign of idleness and it starts promptly.

Would you advice I take the for the time chain refitting or continue to drive it that way?

NB: I used to service the car with a full synthetic Mobil 1 5W20 until 6 weeks ago when Mobil 20W50 was used

Recently am experiencing that while driving for a while, the ABS, VDC and Slip off lights will light up on my dashboard and my 2008 Nissan Pathfinder V8 will stall and drag on the road. When I scanned the ABS with my scanner, the following codes showed up:
1. C1131 - Engine Signal
2. C1156 - Steering Angle Sensor Communication Circuit
3. C1163 - Steering Angle Sensor Safe
For my steering angle sensor, I remember last year my mechanic overturned my steering and spoilt the steering angle sensor. I couldn't get another unit so I only bought the white spiral cable inside the angle sensor cos it had cut in some places and replaced it. Am in Abuja.
Useful information to fix the above issues will be appreciated.
