Pot holes vary in sizes ,but no matter how small they can be lethal and life threatening .



Today I would be giving you 10 tips on how to prevent a disaster .Lets Go !

1.
Before you embark on any journey always make sure your tires are properly inflated and have the right amount of pressure .

2.
Always keep a safe distance from the car in front of you especially Danfo buses,this would give you some time to observe if there is any pot hole ahead,thereby giving you enough time to avoid it.

3.
Always drive at a safe speed ,its easier to maneuver and avoid pot holes when you are not over-speeding .In the event when you can’t avoid the effect wont be lethal if you drive at a safe speed.

4.
Seriously stay focused on driving already , that call and email can wait.

5.
Be extra careful when driving into water filled pot holes .The water can hide the true depth of the hole.

6.
Make sure your two hands are on the steering wheel, most preferably at the 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock position.It helps give you are better grip and control in the event of a pot hole evasion or impact.

7.
Do not swerve violently to avoid a pot hole ,especially when you are running away from the Men In Black .

8.
When driving at night always make use of full head lights so you can see way ahead of you,and brace for impact or evasion.

9.
If you have to evade a pot hole make sure no other vehicle is trying to overtake you, also make sure there are no oncoming vehicles .

10.
Slow down if you must drive through a pothole but also make sure you get off the brakes just before encountering the pothole. This will reduce the load on the suspension and the impact force and also a possible mishap .

This is one reason other oncoming drivers violently crash into potholes and damage their vehicles and/or risk lives.
You shouldn't teach folks how to use High Beams on the road except its a lonely far stretch and no oncoming vehicles.
If you try driving with high beams you'd dazzle other oncoming road users which is regarded as a rude, dangerous uncourteous way of driving. This is one reason most Nigerians would fail a driving test abroad.

I use water a lot to wash my car engine. Infact I sometimes pour a bucket full of water directly on the engine.

If everyone does the right thing and follows the right and legitimate way of doing things, acquiring and developong landed properties there won't ever be a need for a house to be marked 'X'.

@OP, for that house to have that X mark it shows the building must had violated the tow planning code which is applicable to that area. It could have violated the zoning, setback, orientation code, it could had been built on a piece of land which isn't suitable or meant for the purpose it was for, it could had been that the owner had not gotten a start work notice and hurriedly rushed to start erecting a structure, it could had been a new road, power line, pipeline or government building is to be sited there and hence a demolition notice.
However, go to the local town planning authority in your area and seek clarification on that issue.

The Avalon compares really well with most merc or BMW. You have this feeling that they were built to directly compete with the Germans, and the japs did quite a good job. I am not referring to those old Avalons tho.

The day I handled a limited 07 Avalon, I was shocked! You slow down and take a corner, once you left the corner and press the throttle, the car will just pump out power and totally switch to attack mode and u start wondering if you are actually driving a Toyota. I didn't even try it on sport.

Nice leather seats, drivers seat eternally pumps out cold air whether the AC is on or not. The back seats have a recliner, 12speakers audio system. The Avalon is on a totally different level.

The Avalon you drove comes with genuine leather and wood trims and not some simulated plastics or faux leather and an 10 speaker JBL synthesis audio system with hot and cold air ventilated seats.They sports a 3.5l 270bhp engine mated to a 6sp auto.

Now, come up to 2012-date models, these cars had Q- chargers installed in them (to wirelessly charge phones and also stream music), soft touch sensitive type audio and HVAC controller surfaces and HID quadrabeam and LED headlamps with AFS intelligence. I think its got 10 airbags as at 2011 year model in addition to their numerous safety features.
Go check their NHTSA crash ratings, they were given top safety ratings and picks by IIHA which should tell you they were intentionally thoroughly well built.

Now, what isn't luxurious or top class about these cars?

You need to own and drive one before you conclude. This car is more luxurious than a Lexus ES350 of same year.

I travelled with my brothers RX 300 from lagos to Enugu and hated that SUV cos it has poor stability control.

You may have to copy the VIN of your brother's RX300 for us to determine if its been involved in a collision and was fixed, also, bring the CUV for us to inspect the suspension components for integrity.

May I tell you I've pushed that CUV round bends at speed in excess of 120km/h and was hearing the inner wheels making gripping noise and the traction control lights flashing while correcting any instability.

That wagon is a sweet wagon. I adore it.

If you want comfort and safety go for BMW. BMW has the highest safety rating compared to other cars.

Not even up to Honda/acura when it comes to safety engineering. I'm not even gonna compare them to Benz, rebault or VOLVO (the best in car safety).

On New Year's day, this same vehicle also killed a young Nigerian who returned from South Africa for the New year celebrations

Lexus has one of the lowest fatality rates when we talk of car crashes/accidents. Blame the fatalities on the ignorant victims, their technicians, other road users and a whole lot of factors.
Why would anyone be running 180km/h round pothole ridden sharp bends?
why would anyone over inflate their trucks low quality seriously worn out tyres and then slam on the brakes when a high speed rupture occurs?
Why would anyone mount tyres the wrong way?
Why would anyone not use seatbelts?

Hey guys,

For a while the drive has been horrible due to different noises coming from the legs. i know it'd cost a bit to fix but i think the prices I'm getting are ridiculous.

I've been told id need to replace the following:

- 2 front shocks
- L/R upper arm
- L/R lower arm
- Shaft

Anyone have an idea how much these parts should cost? I am beginning to feel like my mechanic wants to use me to build house in his village.

Location prices differ, your location will help in determining the prices. Besides, the shaft, which of the shaft?
Front Left or Right, rear left or right or propeller shaft?
For the Two front shocks, are they Air suspensions or Normal Hydraulic gas charged shocks?

Sorry again, how did you manage to drive that truck till these things wore out?

My Toyota Rav 4, 2010 over heated due to fan that stopped working (fan stopped working because rewire tampered with the fuse when changing horn) .

The gasket we changed but later the car stopped entering gear. My mechanic cleaned the carbon fibre and the car started working. The problem now, the car vibrates when in idle D. The car is also slow during pick up speed and it is even very sluggish at 120 km/hr.

Secondly, can you please refer me to a good mechanic in Abuja - I spoke to you about this on the phone few minutes ago.
