Afam4eva: I'm talking based on my own experience. I know Yoruba people always think Ondo people to be the stubborn ones for whatever reason but i have mingled with Yorubas from all over and Ondo people seem more liberal to me. Igboid: Ondo people marry Edos and Igbos alot. And some of them even look like they were originally Edo, but became Yorubanized in a distant past, especially Akoko and Ose parts of Ondo.
Most Yorubas can't understand Ondo dialects too. you're right. I'm from the Ikale tribe in Okitipupa of Ondo. But my family members don't even act or count themselves as proper Yoruba. Right from times past, we've married other tribes. My paternal grand mother was Ijaw, my uncle (my father's brother) married an Edo Bini woman, my mom is Akwa Ibom, my late uncle's father brother) son married an Nnsuka lady. |
Car Talk › Re: After All, That Pump Too Can Cause The Overheating by kingreign(m): 7:15am On Feb 11, 2017 |
TRYGO: @gabito4luv. Can you provide some historical fact about that problem? How it all started, etc? That would help in my response to you.
A lot of factors can cause overheating, ranging from vacuum leaks, misfires, a failing or failed engine cooling system(water pump, radiator system, thermostat stuck closed, bad radiator fan, etc)
***But in the meantime, "replaced head gaskets, and H2O pump, and still same issue"? Suggests the remote and immediate cause of the problem hasn't being identified yet.***
***" Now gasket is burnt again"?. Suggests extreme overheating occurring on that engine.***
I would like to share this link with you about some of the causes of overheating I have written,
https://www.nairaland.com/modifypost?redirect=%2F3500161%2Fdisastrous-impacts-overheating%2351775939&post=51775939
in addition to the following points:
***At what engine condition does this overheating occur? idling, or while driving? The T°C gauge exceeds the 1/2mark, and closes on to the RED line?(at least that's isn't President Obama's Syria's redline). Sorry for being political here.
***Have the car scanned for codes. Is there any check engine light displaying on the dashboard?
***Check if the engine fan is specifically working. In some cases I have experienced, the fan(s) might be functional, but if the revolutions of the engine fan is below specifications, it won't be able to blow in cool air from the atmosphere, and evacuate even the hot one from the engine.
Also check the harnesses to the fans, to ensure they're all connected rightly(if fans not working).
***What sort of gasket, do you have installed in there? Cellulose type, or metal make?
*** Installation errors could be another factor. Cylinder heads not properly smoothened(machined), would cause improper sealing between the interfaces of the cylinder head, and engine block. This would cause compression issues, and loss of power.
∆∆∆If the water outer casing seals are leaking, as a result if improper application of silicon sealant, coolants gets wasted and overheating still persists.∆∆∆
***Wrapped cylinder head. Bulk of the heat transfer from the engine occurs at the cylinder head if the engine. Because of the tremendous heat such heads undergo, and the various hotspots at the corners of such cylinders, aluminum heads are bound to exhibit some form of hairline cracks, that if not checked, would engine misfires, and overheating.
∆∆∆The next time your mechanic removes the head again, request he inspects the cylinder heads for hairline cracks. ***If the timing of the engine is over advanced, engine works much more, and overheats.
***If any of the intake and exhaust camshafts bearing caps were interchanged as seen in this case study, your car would continue having such issues, until the bearing caps are corrected.
***Check for clogged or dirty radiator. If before now, the radiator hadn't overheated as a result of a single celled radiator system, then replacing it may not solve the problem. Check if the radiator is clogged. Flush, or replace it with a much higher capacity one.
Hope this helps you tackle this problem.
Any concerns you've got, relay back to the house please.

PtBlank: Good evening,
I drive a 2005 Honda Accord i4. Took it for scanning today and got these results;
U0002 Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT). Sensor 2 circuit high voltage.
P3903 CMP sensor a and CKP sensor, incorrect phase detected.
C0102 H02S S2 heater circuit malfunction or H02S B2 S2 heater circuit malfunction.
The car consumes a lot of fuel (used 12k fuel from Abuja to Ilorin) and I recently purchased a new radiator (the previuos one was overheating)
What do I need to replace or check?
Thanks for the help.
Cc Gazzuzz luvinhubby kingreign ALL these codes will cause your car to run inefficiently and burn more fuel. Solve them all and be happy. I've seen ordinary incorrectly inflated tyres drag down a car's MPG. |

ERM, the last time I checked, Camry has 2.4l i4 2AZ-FE. Also, your Claim that Engine goes as hot as 2000°C. Na Ceramic oven or boiler room for refinery? Last time I checked the melting point of aluminium from which a 2AZ-FE is made from is 660.3°C, now you do the math. TRYGO: INTRODUCTION
REASONS WATER PUMPS FAIL Because of the extreme exposure of the pump to high temperatures, pumps are bound to fail, due to the followings:
1. Use of water as coolants. Using of water as coolants, comes with its own risk. Agreed, water is a good conductor of heat.
But it would interest you to note that, water, thermally, is excellent dissipating heat away from the engines cooling system to the environment, fails to exhibit such characteristic, when the temperature of an engine gets to close to 2000°C. At that temperature, it looses its thermal property. This lose of thermal property, encourages overheating, corrosion buildup, etc, thereby resulting into reduction in pump efficiency.
.perational efficiency of water pumps. When coolants aren't replaced, additives are degraded, and form sludge, and corrosion, that have being know to be enemies of water pump, and aluminum surfaces.
CASE STUDY
Camry 2007; Capacity of engine: 2.7L, 4Cylinder Engine type: 2AZ-FE
CUSTOMER'S COMPLAINT
*Engine makes a grinding noise, immediately the engine is started, when it is cold
*Water from the coolant reservoir keeps going down, and I keep topping it.
OUR TROUBLESHOOTING
*Got to the customer's location, in order to simulate the customer's complaints. Started the engine, a terrible grinding noise surfaces.
*Discovered coolant leaks around the front and sides directly below the pump location.
*Topped the reservoir with water, and discovered immediate water was leaking out from beneath the pump.
*Auto tensioner bearing makes noise(grinding noise). That bearing was responsible for the initial noise, when the car was started.
THE FIX
*Drained the existing coolants, and captured it in a container.
*Replaced the pump with a new one, after removing the old one.
*Inspected the water pump housing seal to make sure its still intact. Do not reuse an old seal. All new pumps come with new rubber seals. Reusing old seals would cause coolant leaks and overheating. Something, you'd want to avoid. Ensured genuine silicone gum was used.
*Allowed silicone gum to dry perfectly before filling the radiator system with coolants. This would give the water pump a perfect sealing.
*Started the engine, and allowed to run for 15min. Checked for leaks, without any found.
*Replaced only the auto tensioner bearing, instead of buying a complete auto tensioner assembly. That saved the customer some bulks though.
CONCLUSION Detecting a failing(failed) pump, should be quiet easy. Replacing your car's radiator coolants, is a panacea for prolonging the lifespan of the car's water pump unit. It pays to use new OEM water pump, than using a used one.

The only time I reject any car is when that car has been really abused. I do not accept a work that has seen several hands. Reason is the integrity of the components allied the working of that faulty part may be compromised.
I have had an experience mid last year when someone with a '99 avensis came to me literally begging to fix a faulty power steering system in his car, he told me over 6 mechanics have tampered with the steering. I was busy, but rescheduled a further date for him. Next day he came again and repeatedly disturbed me, till I got a quote for parts (minus labour and logistics). I told him we need to replace faulty rack and pump. I told him we'll replace rack first, then if steering pump response is okay, we'll use his steering, but he should bear in mind that the steering pump will be replaced. He agreed. Gave me cash for parts only, which I ordered steering rack, it came, I didn't like the one which was brought cos its not exact fitment. This same man came the next day and started quarreling me to hasten his work. I went to the market myself and I wasn't feeling too strong health wise, I was drenched in heavy rains. I bought the rack, dismounted the front suspension beam and installed the rack while I was terribly ill and drenched. I poured in P/S fluid into the steering pump to quiet the squeak and it worked fine, but I told the car owner to bear in mind that we haven't finished his job. But he collected the car and rushed out without allowing me to bleed the steering system of air trapped inside..
The later came back that evening yelling that he isn't satisfied with my job and I ate his cash. I must produce the remaining money for P/S pump (7k). I had no choice but to go to where I safely kept the cash and give him. Till this day, he didn't pay me for any labour.
This is just one scenario where my sympathy landed me into a silly situation.
Its 2017, I still repeat, I won't collect any job that has been given to multiple mechanics to do trial and error, neither will I collect a job when I'm super busy or when the customer is in a rush. |

Since then the check light have been on..but each other mechanic says its not timing chain but the sensor and i have changed the sensor more than 3 times..kingreign says he doesnt work on toyota the last time we spoke.my engine has basically suffered from bad mechanics..from one that changed my top gasket claiming over heat when it was not even over heating to different people diagnosing different things just because they have an obd scanner. This is my first time doing this so I wanted to know if anyone here has done this before. If yes, please do you have any tips for me? - what's the best route to take? - How much fuel do I need (I drive a Toyota corolla)? - is it worth taking my car or should I use bus and see how I can manage myself when I get to Abj.
Really need advise on this so I will be grateful if anyone can help out. Lagos-> Ibadan -> Ife-> Akure-> Ibilo-> Okene-> Lokoja-> Abuja. Better hold up to 20,000. If you do not understand road, pls stop at Wema Ibadan new garage, ask the park operators to give you passengers to Abuja. But if I were in your shoe, id do a bus. |

Lies nurey: My dad is the best driver in the world and till today he performed a movie stunt in front of me.
Going through ibadan expressway in a regular Benz 230E, we decided to follow police convoy through one way. As they passed a police van from the other side blocked him and 3 MIB jumped down, sensing my dad is finished, he jammed his gear in reverse stepped on throttle, I heard a defending vooooooooom, the MIB jumped in the vehicle and were hot on our tail, my dad looked at me, his face an expression of terror, use your seat belt he said, the vooooooooom felt like eternity until I saw my self launched to the extreme right, my head slammed on the window, what happen, my dad had done a perfect 180,he was now launching in the opposite direction, I was very happy, he was going back to get me my supreme ice cream whao. The police van and my dad were now side by side, and the MIB were telling my dad to pull over, my dad didn't budge, he saw an opening, veered dangerously left to jump to the other Lane using another 180 degree, not good enough, the right front tyre slammed into a gutter, the car was stucked, the MIB came down, my dad locked us in, the MIB were just smiling with there baton at a ready stance.
Well I can't remember how my dad solved the issue I was too preoccupied with the supposed supreme ice cream. May God bless my dad soul wherever he is now. He was my hero. |
