Hello Experts,

My friend's Nissan Primera 2002 model (automatic) takes long to shift from P.

This happens anytime he had cause to park the car and shift the gear to park (P). Sometimes, it takes up to 5 mins of trying before he is able to shift the gear to D and move. However, the car moves smoothly between R, N and D and even while driving.

Sometimes he puts the gear in Neutral (N) whenever he wants to park to avoid the embarrassment. The issue started about a week ago.

What could possibly be wrong?

Look no more for this is the answer,

GAZZUZZ:
Shifter cable (possible mechanically stiff), it might need re greasing.
Also the range switch might need recalibration. The park position on the lever might not match up to the park position on the range switch.
This would cause the inhibitor mechanism to keep shifter in park (probably why he has to struggle for 5mins)

That aside, if e still happen, na village things.

Correction, its a front wheeler, because there isnt an Aux drive on the gear

RX's don't have differential lock stick, button or knob, even if they're AWD.

I'm sure that cracking sound is from the engine, is your Check engine light on? If yes, your car needs a scan, if no your car needs physical inspection and diagnosis to detect the fault.

Are you sure the 2010 MDX is a lot better than 2014 Edge Titanium or Sport

the mdx premium tech package will kill that edge titanium or sport trim. One more thing about the mdx, its suspension is tuned in Nurgburgring track, it is a bigger dimension vehicle, with SH-AWD system which is worldclass handling for a vehicle of its size, 3.7 V6, and i think its got 3rd row seats.

Beware of strip head boltbolt in toyota highlander l4 engines . ma 2cents

Very easy to fix a stripped bolt in a highlander. Once fixed, it never get stripped again. Besides, any aluminium engine can develop a stripped head bolt. Forget what those internet rants are all about. I use a highlander 2.4l and its in its 4th year. I'm speaking from experience.

Durrentt, from your DP, I can tell you're still very young and probably just starting life, at most you're in your mid 20's. Do you know many formal job opening discriminates against tats and piercings? Jobs such as military, teaching, some medical practices, blue chip firms, formal executive white collar jobs etc. The list is inexhaustible. I'd advice you as I'd advice my younger brother, let this crave for tats and piercing dissolve. If you're grown with kids, how would you want them to look at you in the future, should you be a governor, minister, president, how would your countrymen look at you with a tat and piercing, how would the int'l community look at you?

I'm not dissing or beefing you, just giving a matured brotherly advice. Thanks
