Politics / Re: Buhari To Niger Delta Militants: Negotiation Remains Your Best Option by kingsmecca(m): 8:38am On Aug 29, 2016
I still blame the past Niger Delta leaders for the underdevelopment of the region, all of them right from the Federal to Grassroot levels, they were just there for their families and friends, NDDC was the worst commission full of abandoned projects across the region. The bottom line is Dialogue remains the best option.

God please help us, my community is on fire. I still blame Shell and some greedy elders for all these happening now, right from when I was a kid till now Assa community have not benefited anything from SPDC. The Governor as the Chief Security Officer should please mount a permanent military base in any of these communities: Obile, Assa or Awarra in order to reduce or stop these killings.

It's good to have one or more farmlands but to force someone into farming is no a good idea. I like farming but where's the land, capital, good access road? etc.

I believe something is wrong somewhere, Gas flaring doesn't generate so much carbon when burnt, are they sure this is not crude oil they are burning? This should be what I called Crude Flaring. It's a pity.

Criminals that loots and forces the people of Ohaji-Egbema and Oguta Local Govt Areas of Imo state to poverty must no go unpunished. These oil and gas rich region of Imo state are still being neglected from tenure to tenure, no health centres, no motorable roads, no electricity in so many of the communities...etc. I think death sentence should be the penalty for leaders that loots public funds in this country, "if you want to shot, shot don't talk".

There're informations that are not suppose to be divulge to the public because of how sensitive they are, any information about BH should be made to the military directly. People looking for what to write should please tour their rural communities, find out their needs, take pictures of bad roads, health centres, dilapidated school class rooms or laboratories, etc...post them on media for your President, Governor, Senator, HOR member, LGA Chairman to see. Please God help us all.

Politics / Governor Rochas Okorocha Please Do Your Best To Fulfil Promises You Made by kingsmecca(m): 2:50pm On Sep 27, 2015
As Governor Rochas Okorocha celebrates yet another birthday, however, I wish to use this medium to remind him of his campaign promises to the communities of Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State. Early last year, the governor promised among other things to provide electricity and fix the deplorable roads in Ohaji/Egbema LGA of the state. As I write this, that electricity project has been abandoned in Awarra – Assa communities with no sign that work would resume soon, so has the road project in Awarra leading to Omoku in Rivers State. Strikingly, these long neglected communities are the ones that bear oil and gas deposits in the local government which makes the state a beneficiary of the 13 per cent derivation fund meant for oil producing states in the country. The major roads into almost all the communities in Ohaji/Egbema such as the Adapalm Road and the Umuapu end of the Owerri- Port Harcourt Expressway are no longer motorable. In fact, those roads have become an eyesore and conveyor belt of sorrow and pain. I couldn’t believe it when I got on that portion of the road at Umuapu having journeyed from Awarra the other day. As stated earlier, it is quite unfortunate that one of the two local governments that make Imo an oil producing state is being neglected this way by successive governments in Imo State. The case is at its worst in Awarra – Assa communities where three oil and gas companies operate since the 1970s yet the people cannot boast of electricity, good roads and health care facilities. It might not be out of place to believe that every administration in Imo State has a deliberate agenda to neglect and starve the goose that lays the golden egg of the opportunity to partake in development. There’s no reason for the Umuapu road not to be fixed by the Okorocha government even if it is a federal road, as they say, as soon as possible to alleviate the sufferings of those using it. There’s no reason also for the Awarra – Assa communities to still be in darkness in this time and with no hospital to treat ailments caused by oil and gas exploration activities in the area. This is one neglect Okorocha must bring to an end immediately, if it is not a state policy by his government to neglect oil communities of Imo State.

Education / Re: Photo:Toilet In UNIPORT Hostel (graphic Images). by kingsmecca(m): 11:11pm On Aug 12, 2015
The governing body of the University Of Port Harcourt recently directed that fresh graduates of the university will now pay the sum of #20,000 each for their Certificate before they will be posted for their National Youth Corp Service (NYSC). For Godsake how long will the Nigerian students continue to suffer with the level of extortion going on in our universities? Now, in this unversity students pay the sum of #10,000 per session as developmental fee but yet they are not using it to develop anything rather than their private bank accounts. I believe the time is come when EFCC or ICPC have to look into these issues very seriously. Nigerian students are "suffering and smiling" in this country.
