Why are Nigerian men romantically challenged? Two things:- Upbringing and lack of enlightenment in this age of information.

The real issue is that your friend needs some self esteem, which has been dented by her neanderthal excuse of a boyfriend. There is no shame in being herself. Inexperience is irrelevant. There is no great mystery to becoming a proficient lover. Her boyfriend is uncouth, ill-manered and insensitive to her feelings. She needs a man who is sensitive and attuned to her needs and who will treat her right and express thoughtfulness about her sexual needs. Her neanderthal boyfriend is a loser. Definitely does not deserve her. She should find herself a more attentive and empathic man.
Family / Re: Sex Education in the Family. by Kinkinatus(m): 2:24pm On Aug 07, 2009
I think the minute kids begin to notice the differences between themselves and the opposite sex. It all depends on how old they are. For me that started with my kids around age 6. I got two boys and I remembered how it started with a very innocent question, like why does mom sit down on the loo to wee. There and then, I gave a very simple and matter of fact explanation. Girls have their bits on the inside that is why girls sit down to wee and boys have theirs on the outside. I did not over react, start a huge drama, threaten them with the fear of senseless thrashings. I have had various questions since then and tried to explain those awkward questions factually and to the best of my ability, without the threat of beatings our parents (bless them) used to treat these topics.
Nairaland / General / Re: Is Nigerian Police Your Friend? by Kinkinatus(m): 9:58pm On Jul 31, 2009
How can the Nigerian Police be your friend? I mean, seriously how? They are unfeeling, callous and down right murderous when given the chance. They take your money at check points, mistreat you, and even before they take your money, they blag you first. You got to treat them with utmost caution, like vicious attack dogs. You never know when they are going to turn around and bite you.
Family / Re: Will You Ever Get Married? by Kinkinatus(m): 9:37am On Jul 25, 2009
Why would I want to get married? I see so much unhappiness with so many married couples around me. I got pals who come to bed down in my yard when they've had a really bad row at home and they got kicked out for the night. I hear their stories and I shake my head. Minor issues and big issues. I got pals who got married, came back after the wedding, couple of months down the line, he has moved out, she is upset and tearful, and then she's moved on and become some-one's second wife. I got a work colleague whose husband just walked out cos he didn't want to be married any more after 21 years. And she has got mates whose husbands are walking out or they want out after 15-20 years of marriage. Am I happy with my partner, yes. Would I want to go ruin things and get married?, Nah.
Travel / Re: Nigeria Embassy London Worst Management by Kinkinatus(m): 12:46pm On Jul 07, 2009
You guys think you had it bad. My partner went there to renew her passport, and for having the temerity to confront one of the counter staff (some Igbo guy), for attending to some queue jumpers, she was told and I quote, “if you like, cross that counter and come over here, I will give you the beating of your life”. This was said by counter staff meant to be attending to the public in the Nigerian High Commission in London. Thank God, For dual nationality. I want no part of that Nigerian High Commission!
