@iice - here is my review of Avatar as promised. Avatar Movie Facts - Cost $300 million to make. Spent 14 years on the producer, James Cameron's drawing board. Uses cutting edge 3-D Tech created specially by James C for filming including special sets, cameras, etc. This also means everybody watches the movie with 3-D glasses. So far the best 3-D movie I have yet seen. The movie characters seem to jump right off the big screen at you, when they attack, and when a weapon is fired, you want to duck down. Fly on the wall view. Avatar was filmed on location in New Zealand. SFX was by ILM (George Lucas Company that did Star Wars, Jurassic Park & Weta Digital - Peter Jackson's SFX company that produced Lord of the Rings trilogy). This means that when such companies come together for a movie, that movie is the dog's balls. It also means there is a lot of CGI used in the movie. Story Line - Attempts at unfair exploitation of an alien race's resources & their efforts to fight back against superior weapon technology, intertwined with a very moving love story between a physically challenged US marine Jake Sulley, and a 10 foot blue alien Neytiri. To quote a line from the movie “I see you” LOL. The villains are a moneyed corporate organisation exploiting a planet's natural resources at the cost of the indigenous alien race and the impact on the environment. The alien race have a spiritual link/relationship with their environment. You can definitely see parallels with that in so many developing countries such as Brazil, Nigeria, etc. This movie has relevance especially in this time of climate change & global warming. The villains use state of the art weaponry and tactics, and they DO NOT STOP. They are very bad villains. There is this colonel who runs the corporate private army. His moves in a fight against an alien animal have to be seen to be believed. This is that kind of adventure fantasy movie that comes along & redefines the whole genre of sci-fi/fantasy movies. Sets new standards in movies and movie making, pushes the boundaries so far back it makes you wonder what's coming next. Main Actors/Actresses: - Sam Worthington of Terminator Salvation, Sigourney Weaver of the Alien trilogy & Zoe Saldana of Star Trek movie 2009, Pirates of the Carribean, etc. Michelle Rodriguez of SAWT, Lost, etc. Top class acting and the love scenes between Jake Sulley and Neytiri are so touching and so romantic. My verdict- Excellent 3 hour movie. Unstopping, consistently held my attention for 3 hours, A very well spent 3 hours (the popcorn and drinks also helped). I could not believe the movie was over when it ended. Not cheap though at £16.45 per ticket considering the average every West End movie is about a tenner. I guess the 3-D glasses may have had something to do with the price, but this movie was well worth every penny. Very high tech, edge of the seat and breathtaking action. If like me, sci-fi, adventure and action is your thing, then this movie is a Must see and and a Must Have (in blu-ray, most definitely). Go enjoy, |

The Clash of the Titans - That looked very good, I liked the old 60's version. Would be worth a look or getting on DVD if it turns out not to be a hit at the box office. Peter Jackson and the Olympians is a movie along similar lines as the Clash of Titans. That caught my fancy. Might see it or catch it on DVD. |

Yeah, hopefully 2010 movies should come out really good. I liked Matt Damon in Bourne identity. Looks like his new movie Greenland will be excellent. You may also want to be on the look out for Shrek 4 and Toystory 3. Too many sequels these days. ![]() |

@ iice, I am into my syfy fantasy big time. I will take your word for it that it is awesome. Seems another move to look at for in 2010 summer will be IronMan 2, if you liked the first one, the hype is the second one is going to be really bad ass. again, lets see how that tuns out. |

What's this about black boys having fragile egos and ego tripping. It is a common sense decision to hit on a white chick in a club. It is far easier and quicker to score with a white babe in a club than to waste half the night with a black babe who will give you the cold shoulder and make you lose face with your friends, as put by one poster. Why bother? It must be pathetic going after a black chick if her whole intention is to put you down and make you look inadequate. Everybody loves a good deal. Besides a white chick will put out where your black sisters have resentment issues. |

Excellent! I love Gina Y. She keeps it REAL! |

I am seeing Avatar tomorrow night which is Friday, with my buddies in the Odeon, Leicester Square. Billed to be the latest thing and greatest with 3-D technology, meaning every viewer gets a pair of 3-D specs. Should be interesting. Produced by James Cameron, you know Terminator, Titanic, Rambo, etc. Hope it is as good as they make out. Too much hype these days when the media want to sell. ![]() |

Very interesting this. I did this equality and diversity course some time ago which started by saying that the way we all treat people we meet is based on our own perceptions and preconceptions. That everybody has a bit of bias and prejudice in them, You just have to know how not to let it show inappropriately and you should learn how not to judge people at the very first encounter. This led to a very lively debate. The fact is the tutor was right. by the way, the tutor was trans sexual pre-op as well. |

Keep walking brotha, when a woman is that dis-interested in you, it could mean that it is highly likely that she has found someone more interesting. You did not say if you tried to reach out to her after your 3 week sojourn in the land of loneliness. Obviously, the new person she may be with has an x factor which is attracting her much more. You could swallow your pride and go and talk to her directly to see what is happening, but be prepared to be shut out and beaten down, and end up walking away a loser. Even if she has not got a new guy, it is clear that she currently has the psychological advantage over you. In this type of face off/face down situation, sometimes the first person to capitulate loses big time. If you have friends in her area, try to find out discreetly what she is up to, that way you don't lose face. If you just walked away from her earlier, then keep walking and find yourself a new babe. |

No, don't take him back. Get yourself a new guy. This fellow is not good for you. He has no respect for you, and he will continue to destroy your self confidence and perpetuate this cycle, by running back and forth. He made his choice. You make your choice to be moving on with your life. For you dear poster, the grass is definitely greener on the other side. |

It is public knowledge that photographs and fingerprints known as biometrics are taken to keep records of all legitimate travellers. By the way, it is not only the UK that keep records, the USA does it as well. Most European countries do it as well, and Australia too. In fact in the near future, most European countries, the US and Australia are discussing a shared database of biometric information. This would enable them to know all the jibiti and magomago people worldwide who have been running from one embassy to the other after being refused visas for submitting fraudulent or counterfeit documents. For those who are not aware, biometric information also helps the advanced countires keep track of travelers who abuse the health system, like coming to use the British health system and disappearing instead of paying, or staying longer than the usual six months given. Most people forget that the UK is an Island, and as much s you can run, you can never hide forever. If you are lucky to secure a visa, try to keep to the conditions given. It is much better to apply with genuine supporting papers and be refused and try again, than to be refused with fake documents and be banned for 10 years in the case of the UK. A word to the wise, |

Maybe your come-befriend-me-quick signals are too strong for this fellow and that is what is turning him off. Some guys cannot deal with it when a girl comes on too strong. Some guys just switch off. Sounds like that is what has happened with your prospective fellow. You may need to back off a bit. |

Crap is what Nollywood movie CD/DVD covers are. Is it not about time Nollywood produced quality printed and quality glossy paper covers? Some of the Nollywood movie covers you see out there in the market are pathetic and laughable. Anyway, more likely than not, that may or may not be a reflection of how crappy the movie contained is. |

@ Poster Dude, come on! Its not like there is a group of women sitting on some shelf in a some shopping mall somewhere with signs on their heads saying best for marriage- within two months. You gotta get out and build yourself a relationship0 first before you get into marriage. You jump into marriage the way you are saying, I fear you may do yourself serious grief. |

@ Poster, your statement appears to be slightly contradictory. On one hand you state that you are a fan of mutual situations where each person is judged by their true worth. On the other hand you state that you have gone out with seemingly lower classed chicks. Exactly what is a seemingly lower classed chick? The end implication of your statement is suggestive of being patronising. I hope I am wrong, but I am sensing some snobbery here which I hope is more error than intention. |

What the heck is wrong with marrying a woman or man 15 years your senior/junior? Why must it always be claimed that someone is using black magic on the other when love and other attendant issues are involved? Is it a crime for a divorced man or a divorcee to also want to have a normal family life and have a second chance at happiness and fulfilment? And if so what is wrong with a having that shot with a younger man/woman? So his father disowns him because he goes out with a senior citizen, so what? Folks, just stop judging. There are different tastes for different people. To each, their own. True enough, there are also consequences, some bitter and some sweet. Let people make their own mistakes and learn from them. C'est la vie. Nuff said. |

In the western world, kissing in public is normal. Kissing as in a peck on the cheek or mouth. Deep throat tonguing, French kissing etc tends to attract a level of staring or bemused attention. Back home in Africa, this sort of thing is frowned upon, and personally, I would do this sort of thing in the privacy of my yard unless, I wanted to prove something or get my adrenalin pumping. |
