Sibe007: Nigeria: Just recently I was handed a flyer, a church was planning to establish another branch to add to the already many existing ones in that area.
They tagged the campaign, Lets-go-a-fishing
I personally feel, it is enough. Especially where you already have branches saturated and considering that making more Religious centers wouldnt solve our enormous problems that need clear cut practical solutions.
Please when will they start the campaign for
Lets-start-factories
Lets-create-jobs
People need JOBS...
If they are unemployed, they would not have enough to give (offerings and the Mandatory one), If people are unemployed, you will all suffer from area boys and road side robbers harrassing your members.
How is your Spiritual Practice (Religious activities) making the community and society better.
After all your singing, dancing, praying, preaching.....
How is it making any difference. What problems are those activities solving.
Do you like the way Nigeria is? Is this really okay?
Are you using all these to shy away from certain responsibilities?
Newton's first law of motion - Nothing will change until you act and things will remain the same until a force makes it do otherwise.
It's either the opp is ignorant or economical with the truth, the church has done a lot to alleviate poverty in this country, there are many people in the payroll of the churches, hundreds of thousands of the country get their living through the church, the church gives bursary to students, the church gives scholarships to students, helps the widows, the fatherless, the needy, that's the purpose of welfare departments in churches. Where the government has failed the church has taken over. But above all, the purpose of the church is to propagate the gospel of our Lord JESUS CHRIST. And finally, if you have great ideas why not start your own rather than criticize those doing great things.
robosky02: 5. Yobo is a former Nigeria international, who has been capped 101 times and represented the Super Eagles at three FIFA World Cups and six Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
After participating in Nigeria's run to the 1999 FIFA World Youth Championship quarter-finals, Yobo made his senior international debut against Zambia in a 2002 FIFA World Cup qualifier on 24 March 2001. He played in all six of the team's matches in the 2002 Africa Cup of Nations and was included in the squad for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, where he was again ever-present, assisting Julius Aghahowa's goal in a 2–1 loss to Sweden.
Yobo made his second World Cup appearance at the 2010 tournament in South Africa, after which he assumed the captaincy on the international retirement of Nwankwo Kanu. The veteran defender was no longer a first choice player at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, but lifted the trophy after appearing as an 89th-minute substitute in Nigeria's 1–0 final defeat of Burkina Faso.
In June 2014, Yobo was included in Stephen Keshi's squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He was named in the starting line-up for both the second and third group matches, helping the Super Eagles to clean sheet in a 1–0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina. On 30 June, he made his 100th international appearance, captaining Nigeria against France in the round of 16. After scoring an own goal in the 2–0 defeat, Yobo announced his international retirement, saying: "This is it. I can look back on my career with great pride. I wanted to leave on a high for my country. Defeat by France was not the right way to go but I'm happy with all I've done for the national team. It's time to give a chance to other people to come through."
omofunaab: We may never know the truth but one thing that's certain is that apostle Suleiman had a relationship with this girl and the lady in turn tried to blackmail him.
It's not easy to blackmail someone unless you have something the person doesn't want the whole world to know.
The story apostle Suleiman is spewing about that it's one imaginary BMC or EL rufai that are after him doesn't add up.
He was the first to arrest the lady, he made use of the police who happens to be an agent of government. Aren't the police supposed to be part of the government conspiracy to nail him? The police even charged Otobo to court on his behalf, and you told us Otobo was working for the government.
We might not know the entire truth but we will definitely follow a convincing story.
And so far so good Miss Otobo's story is quite convincing than that of apostle Suleiman.
She gave names of the hotels, places they visited and dared the police to carry out a thorough investigation to cross check her claims. C'mon this is daring enough.
No man is perfect, apostle sulaiman can make mistakes, his weakness might be sex. And also sex scandals happen all over the world.
What they do is that they apologize to their congregation and seek God for forgiveness. Some will even resign their position.
Apostle sulaiman can just save himself all these stress and confess to God his sins, after all he won't be the first and the last . Besides I thought Christianity preaches about confessions and forgiveness of sins
But no he will never do that, Nigerians don't resign during scandals nor do we admit our faults. We always try to leave people doubting and doubting
Even after Seun egbegbe was caught stealing phones he was able to leave some people doubting, today some still believe reverend king is innocent .
Na wa sha
Please where is the copy of the petition to the police? This was just typed by a blogger. I'm not supporting anyone, we are still watching
KINGwax007: I know say this whistle blowing thing go cause wahala because Nigeria no dey do thorough investigation.
Na so one guy almost whistle-blow another guy wey e no like for his area because dt one carry many cloth spread for line, and the clothes are so expensive. Na so police come meet the guy say e steal cloth...
post=45736532: Hi everyone. So, in this age that almost every guy that comes to you is thinking of how to sleep with you, my question is how can you make or how can a guy who just wants to sleep with you, fall in love with you? Please mature responses only. Thank you
The thing is, there are different types of men, different backgrounds, different mindset, different cultures, different education, different experience, different temperament, therefore what affects A might not affect B. My advice is just be yourself and the right and God fearing man will come
vandirous: hmm I just dey laugh in swahili , if am not mistaken during oga jona tym, we just woke up with the nationwide strike without giving ultimatum, but y is dis one different
That's not true, the price of petrol was increased on the 1st of January and the government was given 5 days before embarking on the strike action on the 6th of January.
entparrot: The truth is, he is still acting within his jurisdiction, even if you're in a hurry, you need to plead with them, some criminals can also act as if they're in a hurry and even create a fake ID with de same surname, just to beat the police.
I will still say it again, I know NPF have many bad eggs, I have also been a victim, but once they are doing their duty, let's try our best to respect them.
entparrot: I know there are abusive police officers, but this time you're very wrong, for raising your voice... Allow them do their job, sometimes those interrogation always give them the opportunity to arrest thieves, that might have a stolen car.
Ma, this is no interrogation, he new I was in a hurry to a place and he also saw the the surname as the same, he was just out to cause a mischief. You needed to be there to understand what I'm talking about
There was a family engagement today in Ibadan, and my mum told me to take her there. (we reside in Lagos), but due to the petrol situation in the country, I couldn't take my car because it's a six(6) cylinder vehicle and it consumes fuel a lot, so I decided to go with my brother's car.
Before we got to Ibadan very close to Sat Gurrumahaj, there was this policeman at the police check point who stopped us and I stopped immediately. You know their usual question, "what do you have in your booth" and I said "nothing", "where are your papers?" he asked, and I handed over to car document to him. He then asked for my driver's licence, which I also gave to him. He looked and looked for over 5mins checking the name on the driver's licence and the vehicle papers. The police man then asked "who is the owner of the vehicle"? And I said my brother, he looked and looked at the papers again for minutes, this time, I was already loosing my patience, and he asked," how can your brother be Mr. and Mrs?" by then I had lost my patience, and I said, raising my voice, "this simply means it belongs to my brother and his wife". The policeman said, "do I look like your boy that you can shout at? I will deal with you" and he kept all the vehicle papers and my original driver's licence in his pocket for over 30 minutes until another officer spoke to him to let me go.
It really shows that some police officers lack training.
A lot of people lose their faith because of the bad behavior of Christians.
Sad...but true.
I guess the pastor is happy now.
Modified....
In my opinion, the blame for the loss of faith goes to the COZA pastor and his church.
They ''protected their pastor''.They decided the image of the church was better than heartfelt, broken repentance towards God. They decided that the Pastor was far more important than a lost sheep...and so...they ganged up against Ese and this is the result.
You know, one comment I hate amongst Nigerian christians is the ''Touch not my anointed'' comment. When it was used by David in the Bible ....David was not saying that Saul was free from criticism....he was saying that it was not in his hand to remove Saul...it was in God's hands.
Today...we use that comment to protect our beloved superhero Pastors from all critique. We turn them into little Gods...and give them all worship and protection....even if it is at the expense of souls.
Well....Mr Pastor....you have your reward. You have your reputation and fame intact. You never had to say sorry. No problem. You are good to go.
I think it is time the Nigerian Church....the born again branch....stopped this pastor worship and replaced it with Jesus worship. Before God decides to send us through harsh times so that some souls can be saved.
P.S....I advise Nigerian Christians to read these Christian novels....
1.The Visitation....by Frank Perretti.
2.And the Shofar blew by Francine Rivers.
It is time for change in our Church. We have strayed.Even I have strayed. We need to make Christ the Lord of all our life....not our pastor, career, achievement, money, etc.
