Jobless Man Builds Helicopter With Recycled Material – Watch Video
All he wanted to do was fly in a helicopter. So an unemployed man at Siza informal settlement near Rustenburg decided to follow his dream - and build his own helicopter.

Now he is calling on aviation experts or experienced pilots to check if it would be safe for him to take his home-built helicopter on its maiden flight.

Vusimuzi Mbatha, 35, originally from Libode in the Eastern Cape, said he became fascinated with helicopters after seeing one during a strike on the platinum belt in the North West last year.

"I dreamt I was controlling a helicopter. That was in January last year, during the strike in the platinum mines. The dream continued and I decided to follow it. It was easy to build this helicopter because I have a vision of what I wanted to do," he said.

He said he started to buy parts, bit by bit, and used scrap metal to build his helicopter.

The giant helicopter stands proud in front of his shack, attracting locals to take a look at the metal giant with a roaring engine.

'This guy is talented'

"We thought he was playing when he started to assemble it. We did not see it until today [Thursday]. All we heard was the roar of an engine and rotating rotor," said Kgositsile Lumko.

"We are surprised. We never expected something like this to come from our area. This guy is talented. Government needs to help him to take his dream further."

Mbatha, who only went to school up to grade 7, said he was always interested in science but could not further his education due to financial constraints.

"I like the military, that is the reason for my helicopter to resemble an army helicopter," he said, dressed in a camouflage trousers and black beret.

"I designed this outfit because of my interest in soldiers."

Bits and bobs

The helicopter sports a television set, a clock situated on the back of a seat, and a two way-radio. It has a green and a red light on its tail that flashes at night. Its engine is powered by petrol and a motorbike battery is used to propel the rotor. The rotor hub is housed in an old soft drink crate.

The cockpit is also built out of soft drink crates. A fire extinguisher is located on the left side of the helicopter. The helicopter stands on a four-wheeled trolley built out of scrap metal.

"The clock helps me to know what time the flight took place and what time I return."

The steering wheel is made from a PlayStation control. There is also a clutch and an accelerator.

"The helicopter is incomplete, there are some parts that I have to put in. The challenge is the money. I am not working and depend on odd jobs to build this helicopter."

He said he wanted experienced pilots or aviation experts to inspect his helicopter before he could take it to the sky.

"Flying is dangerous. I want the helicopter to be inspected for safety before I can fly."

'Inspiration'

Locals flocked to Mbatha's shack when they heard the roar of an engine.

"We are impressed. How he managed to build this is a miracle," said Selobane James.

Thabang Khang said Mbatha's inventions were a motivating factor for children in Siza.

"A lot of children must draw inspiration from this man, with limited education he pursued his dream and is just few steps away from reaching his goal. He is highly talented."

Mbatha came to Rustenburg ten years ago looking for jobs in the mines but remains unemployed.

Foreign AffairsMEET The World’s ‘poorest’ President Who Lives On A Farm (photos). by klassic(op): 11:22am On Jun 30, 2015
MEET the World’s ‘Poorest’ President who Lives on a Farm & Whose Official car is a 1987 Beetle!

He lives on a farm, and his official car is a 1987 Volkswagen Beetle. He donates 90% of his monthly salary to charity. President of Uruguay, Jose Mujica, is not your average president.

It is commonplace to see some presidents of countries living lavish lifestyles, and in some extreme cases, looting their countries’ finances for personal gain. But not Mujica.

He is commonly known as the world’s “poorest” president because of his austere lifestyle.

Mujica rejected the luxurious presidential residence the government provided for him and instead opted to live on his wife’s farm located on a dirt road outside the country’s capital. They have no domestic workers – they do all the farm work by themselves. The only staff they have are two police officers.

In 2010, his annual personal wealth declaration – mandatory for officials in Uruguay – was $1,800, the value of his Beetle.

In an interview with BBC, he said:

“I’ve lived like this most of my life, I can live well with what I have

I’m called ‘the poorest president’, but I don’t feel poor. Poor people are those who only work to try to keep an expensive lifestyle, and always want more and more

This is a matter of freedom. If you don’t have many possessions then you don’t need to work all your life like a slave to sustain them, and therefore you have more time for yourself…”

Mujica also has unique views about poverty alleviation. In the 2012 Rio+20 summit he stated:

But what are we thinking? Do we want the model of development and consumption of the rich countries? I ask you now: what would happen to this planet if Indians would have the same proportion of cars per household than Germans? How much oxygen would we have left?

“Does this planet have enough resources so seven or eight billion can have the same level of consumption and waste that today is seen in rich societies? It is this level of hyper-consumption that is harming our planet.

An Arab sheikh recently offered him $1 million for his Beetle. Mujica is currently considering the offer, and says that if he does sell it, he will donate the money to charity.

Great AAUITE, thats my alma mata. @OP please upload pics of the greatest faculty of law. cheesy grin. The buildings are not modern but the lecturers and their teaching methodology are superb. If you genuinely pass through AAU, you can compete with students from every other Uni in Nigeria and beyond, cos once you know it , you know it for life and if you dont or are not ready to learn, even sorting or romancing a lecturer wont save ur ass. You will spend 12 years for a 5 years course. Cos after sleeping with you and/or collecting your money, they will still fail you and you cant threaten them cos many of them belong to a higher class you cant even imagine. grin

Fact: Nobody except you can make him touch you or make love to you again. Mind you, never discuss your sexual life with a known third party is just too bad and if it gets back to him there will be consequences.

Do this, my wife uses it for me , i just found out and it works. Pray a lot for him, discuss his work and work related issues with him. Discuss his problem and try to proffer good suggestion. Stress and other psychological issues. If he feels more relaxed , he will beg you for sex and not the other way round. And lastly, cook him good sex stimulating home made meals and eat with him or watch him eat, pamper him . When was the last time you prepared his bathe and offered to bathe him despite him protesting? He is your baby despite being the head of the family. But the way how many books and tapes on marriage have you read or listened to.

I am so appalled by those who accuse OP of celebrating sex or asking people to have pre marital sex. just go back and read the first sentence " she said before you marry discuss sex and dont spiritualise it" Discuss it, sit down and talk about it. Infact church do preach it these days cos it one major reason for broken relationship, broken marriages and the likes. If still in doubt, get Pastor Sam Adeyemi's tape titled " SEX AND SEXUALITY" and you will concur with OP after you are done with it.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION, AND FOR THE SAKE OF FIGHTING IGNORANCE, BE INFORMED.

ABOUT THE CONTROVERSIAL SEXUAL OFFENCES BILL, 2012:

1. The Bill did not place the legal age of having sex or giving consent to sex at eleven (11). No, the Bill didn't. What you heard and what you've been spreading around is incorrect.

2. The most controversial part of the Bill is Section 6. For the sake of clarity, I'll summarize:

(a) It states that anyone that causes penetration with a child of eleven or less than eleven, upon conviction will be sentenced to imprisonment for life.

(b) It states that any person that has sexual activity with a child between the age twelve and fifteen, shall upon conviction, be sentenced to life imprisonment.

(c) It states that any person that engages in sexual activities of a child between the age sixteen and eighteen, shall upon conviction, be sentenced to life imprisonment.

3. The foregoing did not peg the legal age of having sexual intercourse at eleven. It did not say it is okay to go to bed with an eleven year old girl or boy. It didn't.

4. Nevertheless, I find the Bill full of lapses and lacunas. It is a bad legislation. It is poorly cooked up and has a lot of loopholes which smart lawyers can explore if they want to. I recommend that the new National Assembly should take the Bill apart to redraft it into something better. There are a plethora of lapses in it but I cannot begin to address all of them in this update.

5. It will do us a lot of good if we take time to research on a particular topic, issue or debate before we rush to make updates or debate on those issues. Use Google, it's free!

6. If you need a copy of the Bill, I could forward one to you.
So therefore, from the aforementioned. It is crystal clear that the man committed a a crime. What is left for him is to prove if he indeed defiled the girl or not. But then again pursuant to the provisions of Sections 218 and 233, it is immaterial that you did not know that she was 11 years or not and whether or not she consented because a girl within that age cannot consent in Law.
THANKS AND GOD BLESS NIGERIA.

Thank you!

HealthMedical Alert: A New Drug More Dangerous Than Cocaine. by klassic(op): 9:49am On May 28, 2015
CNN)It goes by the name flakka. In some parts of the country, it is also called "gravel" because of its white crystal chunks that have been compared to aquarium gravel.

The man-made drug causes a high similar to cocaine. But like "bath salts," a group of related synthetic drugs that were banned in 2012, flakka has the potential to be much more dangerous than cocaine.

"It's so difficult to control the exact dose [of flakka]," said Jim Hall, a drug abuse epidemiologist at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. "Just a little bit of difference in how much is consumed can be the difference between getting high and dying. It's that critical."

A small overdose of the drug, which can be smoked, injected, snorted or injected, can lead to a range of extreme symptoms: "excited delirium," as experts call it, marked by violent behavior; spikes in body temperature (105 degrees and higher, Hall said); paranoia. Probably what has brought flakka the most attention is that it gives users what feels like the strength and fury of the Incredible Hulk.

Deadly High: How synthetic drugs are killing kids

Flakka stories are starting to pile up. A man in South Florida who broke down the hurricane-proof doors of a police department admitted to being on flakka. A girl in Melbourne, Florida, ran through the street screaming that she was Satan while on a flakka trip. Authorities in the state are warning people about the dangers of the drug.

Florida seems to be particularly hard hit by flakka overdoses.

Hall said that there are about three or four hospitalizations a day in Broward County in South Florida, and more on weekends. It is unclear why the Sunshine State is a hotbed for flakka abuse; "it's a major question in our community," Hall said.

Cases have also been reported in Alabama, Mississippi and New Jersey.

Flakka, which gets its name from Spanish slang for a beautiful woman ("la flaca"wink, contains a chemical that is a close cousin to MDPV, a key ingredient in "bath salts." These chemicals bind and thwart molecules on the surface of neurons that normally keep the levels of mood-regulating neurotransmitters, dopamine and serotonin, in check. The result is to "flood the brain" with these chemicals, Hall said. Cocaine and methamphetamine have similar modes of action in the brain, but the chemicals in flakka have longer-lasting effects, Hall said.

Although a typical flakka high can last one to several hours, it is possible that the neurological effects can be permanent. Not only does the drug sit on neurons, it could also destroy them, Hall said. And because flakka, like bath salts, hang around in the brain for longer than cocaine, the extent of the destruction could be greater.

Another serious, potentially lingering side effect of flakka is the effect on kidneys. The drug can cause muscles to break down, as a result of hyperthermia, taking a toll on kidneys. Experts worry that some survivors of flakka overdoses may be on dialysis for the rest of their life.

Like most synthetic drugs, the bulk of flakka seems to come from China and is either sold over the Internet or through gas stations or other dealers. A dose can go for $3 to $5, which makes it a cheap alternative to cocaine. Dealers often target young and poor people and also try to enlist homeless people to buy and sell, Hall said. These are "people who are already disadvantaged in terms of chronic disease and access to health care," he added.

It is unclear at this point whether flakka is more dangerous than the "bath salts" that came before it. But it does have one advantage over its predecessor: it has not been banned -- yet.

"Flakka largely emerged as a replacement to MDVP [in 'bath salts']," said Lucas Watterson, a postdoctoral researcher at Temple University School of Medicine Center for Substance Abuse Research.

Although the Drug Enforcement Administration has placed a temporary ban on flakka, drug makers can work around this ban, such as by sticking a "not for human consumption" label on the drug, Watterson said. It will probably take several years to get the data necessary to put a federal ban on flakka, he added. And a ban can be effective, at least in discouraging potential users.

"The problem is when one of these drugs is banned or illegal, the drug manufacturer responds by producing a number of different alternatives," Watterson said. "It's sort of a flavor of the month."

PoliticsFreedom At Last As Nigeria Army Rescue Chibok Girls!!!!!!!! by klassic(op): 10:08pm On Apr 28, 2015
Nigeria's army says it has rescued 200 girls and
93 women from Boko Haram camps during a
military operation to wrest back control of the
Sambisa Forest.
In a post on Twitter on Tuesday, the military said
it could not confirm whether the hostages were
those kidnapped from Chibok a year ago.
"Troops this afternoon rescued 200 girls and 93
women from Sambisa Forest. We cannot confirm
if the Chibok girls are in this group," the army
said, adding that Nigerian troops had also
destroyed three camps run by the armed group.
Al Jazeera's Yvonne Ndege, reporting from the
capital Abuja, said it was highly likely that the girls
freed today were those kidnapped by Boko
Haram last year.
Boko Haram kidnapped nearly 300 schoolgirls
near the northern village of Chibok in April 2014,
sparking an international outcry.
More than 1.5 million people, including 800,000
children, have fled their homes due to the
violence between Boko Haram, military forces
and civilian self-defence groups.
