Honestly this has been bothering me for a while now. And I think that this is what is referred to as Misogyny
.
I hate the to hear or see the opinion of a female gender cos most times if not all the time, it doesn't make sense. And this realization could make me end up angry for the rest of that day. Whenever I apply logic to actually understand why they make such opinion, I find out that it's always out of emotion and not logic. They also always act before thinking (even when they think, their opinion still doesn't make sense). This is applied to all of them. None is excluded.

A typical example is the Nekede school girl who made a video saying it's the god of my pussy

I just see them as though they have no thinking faculty that is founded on logic. From the posts on social media, Whatsapp and everything. When you look at the motive and the reasoning behind it you will understand that the female gender has this shallow mindset. This is totally different from the male gender, exception to a very few. Majority of the male gender tend to have logical opinions about something.

Maybe I am too much of an observer, I really do not know. Or maybe because I am very sensitive. Sometimes I think to myself that if not that I was born by a woman, I don't see how useful they are, cos they are irritating when it comes to being logical. Try and engage them in a very intricate discussion, you will understand what I mean. The best they can do to appear intelligent is to be good at subjects in school which is always limited to the book they carry around in their school bags. And this is not intelligence.

Now my worry is that, it's affecting the way I act towards them. The worst punishment I can do to myself is to try withstand an opinion from them during arguments. That's the worst. This is giving me a second thought on whether to get married or not, as a matter of seriousness. Cos this is mentally draining to live with people like that for the rest of one's life.

It's really worrisome. Am I the only one?

Appologies if you are not ok with this. But it's just an observation I have come to learn so far so good about that gender.

One other thing I'd like to point out is that, it's not every male gender that your butts or your body (you shamelessly post on every social media page) will trigger some sort of unnecessary obsession with you. Until then, your weapon is just like a toy gun, absolutely useless. And you are probably useless if you have no logical thinking faculty.

Hello everyone. I have some thoughts that have been bothering me.

This thread was the starting point for my Data Analysis journey and I've tried to follow the recommendations listed here. I've been learning Excel, Power BI, SQL, and Python. To be honest, I haven't been paying attention to creating dashboards. My main focus have learning how to manipulate formulas (especially DAX) and other technicalities involved. But recently, I joined some tech communities on Twitter and I see a lot of people creating beautiful dashboards. I hardly see anyone talk about about their SQL or Python projects.

I'm quite confused. Is there something I'm missing? (Note: I'm yet to successfully land a job)

What I have noticed about Nigerian data analysts (mainly the show-offs) is that they all think data analysis is all about creating dashboards(visuals) as though they are graphic designers. And I can bet it that they didn't really do much of any cleaning and wrangling of data, otherwise they will show that part as well: trust Nigerians.

I don't see Whites post things like dashboards. To them, it's just a normal thing. The 70-80% of an analyst job is spent more on cleaning and preparing the data. This is where the knowledgeable of SQL, DAX, Pandas, Excel Functions comes in.


Simply put, Nigerian Data analysts are more of graphic designers while the white counterpart are much more than that: they are just like the scientists of the data itself. Your dashboards doesn't really tickle their fancy.


Follow them, you will understand that Data analysis has a long way to go in Nigeria.

Ps: I may be wrong, but that's my opinion.

I am currently looking for a good project topic to use as my final year project topic and my project supervisor mentioned that he would love me to choose a top in the AI niche.

Now the problem is that I am not all that into AI and Machine Learning, I am more of a web/Blockchain developer guy. But I have played around with a few beginner lessons in the past.

So after some weeks of research, I finally settled for the topic "A web based Breast cancer prediction system"

But then, I need some insights if it's possible to hook up a breast cancer prediction model to a web based framework (I work with Reactjs)?

How feasible is it?

I also observed that during the training of a prediction model using something like Naive Bayes the data set is divided into training and test set at a ratio of say 80:20 for the training and test data set respectively.

What if I want to make a prediction of just one row of data, will it turn out good?

I want the web based version to have individual input fields where one can enter their data and then this calls the prediction model and pass in the values and in turn gives a response of the prediction value. E.g "Has cancer" or "You don't have Cancer"

I need some insights on this because I want to start the development of the project web app first before brushing up some machine learning crash course to hook it up.

This project of yours is very interesting to start with.

Things you need to note about ML is the fact that any model you are building needs a lot of data in order to give you a prediction of high accuracy. Working with just few data will likely make a model not intelligent enough and also make it confused as well. It is therefore necessary to get a huge amount of data on breast cancer in order to get the best from your model.


Do note, that data being used should be thoroughly cleaned. Poor quality of data doesn't help a model in anyway. It is therefore necessary for you to know how to clean, manipulate, normalize and obtaining important Features that will help your model learn very well about your data.


Also, you mentioned training and testing data: yes, they are needed by your Model for training it as well as testing it. It helps process your model in order to understand your data perfectly well. A high amount of your data should be used for training your Model (80% i.e train_size=0. change that emoji to eight(Nairaland wahala), while the rest (20% i.e test_size=0.2) should be used for testing.


Find the best model among the many models you're using. A higher accuracy score or a high mean_absolute_error value can help you determine the best models.


Learn to save your model using Pickle.

For the Web based version, streamlit is specifically meant for this. Learn about it's various functions and your work is 100%.

Same situation here although it isnt my boss complaining, but colleagues who think I came to take over part of their jobs.

Age is also a factor as no one fancies a younger person sitting in the office while they are out in the field giving them instructions. so they make my work difficult.
Also beware of imposter syndrome and fear of being sacked...everyday i feel my job is too easy as i quickly round up my tasks before noon aside adhoc requests. I keep myself busy by upskilling and improving my portfolio. Don't make the mistake of being too comfortable with where you are.

My advise, put on a show, make them see that your job is actually difficult, don't be naive to impress them by working fast all the time. Probably why they push extra tasks to you.

You cant avoid the research work she gives you, I would even be happy to take on it because it is another skill to put on your resume.

Always see the positive side okay..

You are already upskilling so that is all.

The fact that you do your job and have time to spare means that you've efficiently developed a system that works for you...

Don't even let naysayers get into your head...

If e easy, make them run am.

If you spend 30 mins to do a job, the company is paying you for the several months you used in learning how to deliver in 30 mins...and not the 30 mins you spent on the job.

Also, try & learn to play the game of office politics.
The data sphere is not really hardcore tech because you'd deal with a lot of personnel who you rely on for data...unlike in software engineering where it's you, your God and your code.

In my place of work, we use Google sheets as online data collation tool...sometimes, I lock the entire thing...so when you wanna make an input, you'll call my attention to it...and I unlock for you... afterall, na me build am.

Random acts like that really reduced the rate at which some never-do-wells left their own job to come and be checking what I do with my time...

I currently work as a Data Analyst. I was meant to know that I have to work closely with the Business intelligence officer in the organization after I got the job. Aside the fact that I do the normal daily and weekly analysis of the organization data, this Business intelligence officer always gives me a research work to do (and tells me it's part of the job of a data analyst) . Meanwhile, there is nothing analysis about the research work.


NB: JOB DESCRIPTION was not given before getting the job.
I told the HR, he said I need to assist her with her research when the need arise. But I noticed she always gives research work that is too much (I don't even like it) and makes it look as though my normal analysis is not much of a work for anyone (infact she believes I don't do anything at all). I personally like doing my data analysis job fast, automated and efficient so I could have time to involve myself with online courses I have Registered since I barely have time for them at home. And this online courses are there to make me better at what I do. One time she saw me going through a course she spoke in her native language thinking I didn't understand. She said "this guy no get work".

This is really making me have a thought of quitting this job especially when my line manager clearly told me that I am not helping her at all. This Business Intelligence officer is very rude to start with. I feel she is doing all this to frustrate me and possibly take my position as both the Business intelligence officer and data analyst.

Straight to the point. I graduated last year and I am yet to get my statement of result from my school till this day(the fault is from my school). I recently got a job which I am to resume this new month. So I perused through the letter and found out that I am to show a proof of my degree. Already, my Employer knows that I am a recent graduate but I didn't explain the part of Statement of result.

Please how do I go about this?

So just today I had a reminisce about my life and what I have become and I must say it's kimd of a mixed feeling. Did I grow up callous or is it a normal thing.
Mind you I am about hitting mid 20s.

1. FRIENDSHIP
I usually don't get back along with most friends especially when we have had a misunderstanding. I can choose to feel like they don't exist anymore for life. And strangely it doesn't bother me.


2. RELATIONSHIP
I always get attracted to girls in a sexual way and I ensure it's just that alone. This is so because I do see most girls, if not all, as insensible, mostly confused and indecisive and this really makes me feel they are not worth it. I only make out with them for what my body wants and nothing more but deception and lies. At the end, I get tired and leave.


3. RELIGION
I don't believe in Churches and their pastors. There is this inward hatred I have for them. I believe they are thieves and hypocrites who play mind games with their members on matters of hell and tithing just to make them submissive. These members turns out to become so irrational and most times will make reference to what their pastors told them (and not what the Bible says) at any point they are taking a decision. I believe that there is God Almighty. Our conscience is our judge. More of agnostic tho. I don't go to church anymore because I get angry seeing hypocrites who will still go back home that day to commit fornication and all sorts of evil.


4. TEMPERAMENT
I have seen my temperament move from Choleric 60% and Melancholy 40% to Choleric 99% and Melancholy 1%. Sometimes I feel I have become the most heartless human being on the planet. I found out that I don't get emotional to what most people find very touching. Rather I find it to be annoying. For example, I saw a video on Facebook titled "I called my ex" or so. I couldn't even finish the video because it was so annoying seeing a grown up man and woman acting like fools on my phone screen and portray no life meaning as to what information they are trying to pass to me. However, I was shocked to see the comments by people (about 90% of them) saying they find it very touching and all that.

5. GENERALLY
Be that as it may, I don't hurt people particularly or get into fight with them. If I find out you get me pissed off or maybe betrayed me or something, I find a way to stay away from you or ghost you for life without ever looking back. I won't confront you or anything like that be you a girl or a boy. And that is final.

One guy, a friend at a point who I have ghosted, always asked my about a girl he knows too well that I used to be very close to. But then, I really don't care because I know she called at some point after waiting for me to get back to her after about a year or so but I didn't pick up. Telling this guy what happened won't solve anything, so I simply told him that I am no longer in a relationship with her.

6. CAREER
What I do most times is coding( I work remotely for a US company) and trading cryptocurrency. These two things are the most important things to me aside from my family and some relatives.

CONCLUSION
What has really happened to me?
I barely call anyone who may consider themselves very close to me. I barely chat on Whatsapp. I like being on my own most times because I am more of an introvert. What I do with most of my time is coding.

I think life has taught me the hard way to live. Because in conclusion, I don't have unnecessary headaches from anybody. Nothing bothers me about anyone except for my family members and some relatives. I feel I have changed. Change is always constant they say, but I don't know if I have become a monster.

Yesterday night I mistakenly splashed water on my system (Dell Latitude) and instantly I cleaned the water.
This morning I used the system and it was in perfect condition until it started misbehaving. It has refused to turn on all this while after showing the blue screen.
Whenever I hit the ON button, the fan keeps rolling but the system doesn't come on and after some minutes, the fan stops and it goes off.
Please what could be the solution?

I'm few weeks away from graduation from a Federal University. My elder brother who has sponsored me through school from the very beginning just asked me a very important question. He asked "Have you started applying for jobs online now before your service starts?'.
I won't lie, it didn't come as a schock to me but as a fear. With NYSC on my mind, I also thought if I could possibly find something doing and even still find a way to continuing the job during my time of service.

I have skills in Python programming (Web development), tho a beginner, and the use of Excel for Data analysis . Am I really ready for the outside world? That's my fear, I just hope he doesn't see me as a failure embarassed

Please mature minds who have walked this path, please I beg you, enlighten me and others like me on what to do to atleast to put food on the table and become independent before NYSC kicks in.
