These handsets are aimed to showcase the best of Google and Android. On paper at least then, the Google Pixel looks to be a flagship contender – but can it live up to the hype in real life?

The design is premium, if not slightly odd. There's a metal body, but Google (and manufacturer HTC) has added a block of glass around the fingerprint scanner and camera on the rear. While it gives the Pixel a different look, the glass finish does look and feel a little like plastic.

Early verdict

The Google Pixel is a solid smartphone, but it takes a different direction to previous Nexus handsets. Its loftier price point means it's now under real pressure to perform extremely well in all respects, and it remains to be seen if it can live up to its on-paper potential. So almighty Google have released a new chat application to rival BBM and WhatsApp which looking at the features it is coming with, One is tempted to feel WhatsApp would be overtaken by Allo.

Allo has more user experience and features as you can see here https://googleblog..com.ng/2016/09/google-allo-smarter-messaging-app.html ...But would WhatsApp just stand by and watch?

One thing i have come to understand is that people are reluctant to try other new messenger apps because most of their contacts are already on WhatsApp.

Google releasing Allo isn't the problem. The problem would be convincing people to switch from what they are already comfortable with. Penetrating the market is difficult nowadays

Google would need to embark on an aggressive marketing if they really want to stand the test of time but when you think of the Google+ experience, you would agree that even aggressive marketing may not be enough

Furthermore, would Google be willing to spend much on an app that wouldn't bring money??

Only time would tell and i would be watching to see how events unfold.

so far I've been using d phone since 7am on 3g ,played music, watched a 2hr film it was fully charged, till now its still got enough juice to last me for another day . game play is smooth, NBA 2k14, vector 2, real boxing.

I beg to differ, not for the sake of justifying my it1556 but I'm telling you that d 512 RAM is doing wonders for me (though I optimised it a little to achieve that goal). Reason? I have over 100 apps now (GTA VC included and playing smoothly, though I know it probably can't handle God fire or the likes)
