Some secular historians argue that the purpose of some of the scrolls was to create a historical record of the life (Joshua, Ruth, the prophets) or times (Samuel, Kings, Judges, Chronicles)of a particular time period. And that some of the epistles were actually personal correspondence between Paul and the intended recipient (Timothy, Titus, Philemon). Theologians argue that while that could have been the case, they are still inspired by God. And while the Qu’ran was written by one man in one specific time period, the Bible spans between 5,000 and 7,000 years and different writers.
