SoaringLife01: ➜ Which kind WOKENESS be this? We are Africans, after marriage , the woman is accepted into the husband family and community. She enjoys the benefits of her husband community as well. ➜ After all, her children will be filling their mother's surname ( maiden name) in all their banking documents here in Nigeria. But when the man is done, the man can easily send the woman and the children back to her own father's house, abi? Nonsense and eegridient 2. Mother's maiden name can be the same as her surname, as there are places where a woman's children bear her father's name until or after the father of the children has paid her bride price. See how confusing many of your traditions in Nigeria really are? |

Reproduction isn’t always a choice for most animals. mating and reproduction are driven primarily by instinct and biology, not conscious decision. We're are not in the animal kingdom are we? 2. Don't we question decisions? If it pays you fine, if the opposite, you count ur loss Try to pay close attention to your original claims so you don't begin sounding like your don't even know what your mind has been spitting. Davehasmadeit: ➜The greatest advice to give a single mother is to knack and have a baby. Many women above 40 who ain't married yet sometimes die of depression. Since before you were born, at least 25% of the population have been known to die children and single. To this day, there is not even a single report that associates this section of the population with depression. But depression in marriage, depression as a result of childlessness in marriage, etc., are real things. |

But that's the logical thing to do if you desire a child and husband is not forthcoming. ➜Abi you wan wait for menopause to set in before reproduction go turn to desperation. There is nothing logical about that suggestion of yours. A woman is a woman from the moment she is born until the moment she ends up in her grave. Neither her not having a man nor having a child changes any of that. 2. Menopause is actually a blessing to women as it marks the end of the period of her life when she has to worry about becoming pregnant. Menopause for a woman means she no longer needs to worry about getting pregnant by any man she has sex with. |

There is absolutely nothing wrong having a child outside marriage Nothing wrong with having children outside of marriage, but there is everything wrong with this manipulative tactic of making women think that they are nothing if they do not have babies. It is better than committing numerous abortions for one Un-serious Nigga that will not marry you at the end of the day Some have even destroyed their womb during such abortion procedures and the guyman still dump them The advice is foolish since it assumes that these women have the capacity and resources to raise these children alone. Worse, the Nigerian situation does not favor single women(divorced ones included), so such advice is unnecessary and manipulation; underlying this supposed advice is the stewpid rationale that women are walking womb/baby-making machines, which is far from their reality. Women do not need advice. Women should be allowed to individually make this decision for themselves if and when they are ready for it. |

MEN-O-PAUSE Men don't expire does not mean a woman should go out and get herself trapped with a man's baby though. TechToyin: ➜The big question is how? What if my scholarships don't fall through What if I don't get the jobs They are a lot of what ifs Seniors like you should have a guaranteed manual A guaranteed manual, of the kind you expect, only applies to those whose parents built a company where they retain seats for their children to eventually occupy. Even then, there are no guarantees since such companies can go under before the time arrives, or the child may not even make it at all to occupy the seat. Life is full of what ifs and whatnots, and that only makes it more interesting and exciting for those who are willing to courageously step forward without caring what others think or have done before them. There are no comprehensive cheat sheets out there, and settling for what others have done is never fulfilling. It is up to you to decide for yourself how you will choose to go about these things. You need a plan in life. Since you don't have one, it makes sense for you to continue your education until such a time as you can come up with one that will help you move even one foot forward. Work hard to obtain the scholarship. Don't sit idly while working towards that, though, as there are many opportunities out there to continue educating yourself while you wait for the formal routes to open up. |

I got married recently, precisely on the 5th day of November,2016. not because I was really prepared for the wedding. But my girlfriend got pregnant and she is a girl I really love with my whole heart and can't stand she bearing the pain of having a child out of wedlock. so I had to marry her once and for all even though my mum never supported it. but since I'm financing the wedding myself. I just moved on with it.. precisely 3 weeks after the wedding. she gave birth to a baby girl which without DNA.it is obvious she is my daughter because the resemblance is striking. but what gives me pain is that since we got married she never stayed with me for a complete month. she will always have a reason to travel to her family members. now,she decided to learn how to sow wedding gown but she doesn't deem it fit to learn it in my house. she decided to travel to akure to stay with her parent and from her house to the place. meanwhile I'm in ogbomosho. she should at least leave my daughter to me and go where ever she wants.but she won't. please I need advice on what to do because I have tried everything I can do but now I'm feed up. Any updates? @OP |

TechToyin: ➜For context, I just finished my NYSC. I’m a Biochemistry graduate (2:1), 24 years old. Hello everyone, I’m currently doing many things at the same time. I have a target for myself, but I don’t have a specific plan. The reason is that I’m not really a fan of making plans because they might change, and I don’t want to feel disappointed. Here’s where I am right now: I’ve applied (and I’m still applying) for international scholarships. I’ve applied for different jobs. I’m freelancing in Mobile and Web Development, and also working as a Research Writer. Even with all this, it still feels like I have no concrete plan. Looking ahead, my goals for the next five years are to: Earn a PhD, Be married, and Become financially stable. So my question is: What should my plan be? Shouldn't financial stability come before marriage? I mean, this is the year 2025, and it should be common sense to all at this point that having one's finances in check is a big step towards a happy life in general(marriage included). Since you don't have any other plans, it is not a bad idea to consider going towards a PhD. |
