The reality of life abroad for you is not and will never be the same for others. It is just that simple. I have met Nigerians who have been here for generations and never been back. There is actualy little to no truth to what the other poster claims as there are many Nigerians who have lived abroad for generations and could never feel at home if they were to move back to anyplace in Nigeria. I met quite a couple of them when I myself arrived — people who, for one reason or another, chose to abandon Nigeria, and have no desire or yearning to head back there. Every year, millions of people relocate from their original homelands, and many of them for good — they make a new home in their new country where they then proceed to live out the rest of their lives without ever returning to where they came from. I fail to understand why, when it comes to Nigerian immigrants, some other Nigerians would rather insist that a Nigerian cannot have a home other than Nigeria— a falsehood. It simply does not make sense to me that anyone could continue to reason that way even after the much we have learned of how the world works.

The only reason it seems theoretical to you is that you refuse to open your mind to its existence. Many of these people I have personally observed chose to adopt for reasons best known to them, and they navigate their treatment of each child based on age, development, personality type, etc., rather than emotionally induced parameters.
