Mother-in-laws have ALWAYS been a burden for those who are married. The problem is that, before now, most men conveniently concluded by themselves and for themselves that their mothers were not burdens(only their wives' families could be classified as that).

2. Some relationships benefit only one person, and there are also benefitless relationships — no one benefits — out there.

3. Choosing the right spouse has nothing to do with conveniently shifting burdens onto others. Your mother is meant to be your burden to bear; if you want another person's child to have to cater to that burden, then you should be willing to pay the necessary price or fees(hiring a caregiver, maybe) for that to happen.
