Christianity EtcRe: Tomorrow Is Ash Wednesday by Kobojunkie: 7:57pm On Feb 17
Mynd44:
Ash Wednesday marks the official beginning of Lent, a 40-day liturgical season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving leading up to Easter. In 2026, Ash Wednesday falls on February 18.
Key Meaning and Significance
Repentance and Mortality: The day serves as a solemn reminder of human mortality and the need for reconciliation with God.
The Symbolism of Ashes: Worshipers receive ashes on their foreheads, typically in the shape of a cross. These ashes are usually made by burning the blessed palm branches from the previous year's Palm Sunday.
Liturgical Phrases: During the imposition of ashes, a priest or minister typically says:
"Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return." (Genesis 3:19)
"Repent and believe in the Gospel." (Mark 1:15)
It is laughable how Christians pretend that they separate themselves from the Catholics, yet a lot of their traditions date back to the Catholic church, from which their roots can be traced back to. undecided

Everything is wrong! Someone dey do 'Zina' you say nothing wrong!
Do you like sisters, daughters or your future wife (or your wife) to be sampling around in the name of "as long as she consents"!
➜ Anyways, what's wrong was what happened! It will be easier to file a case against the guy if any of the lady were to married to the guy and not just sampling samples! They won't extradition to get justice!
The same way I don't have a problem with brothers, sons, or future husbands (or your husband) sampling around in the name of "as long as he consents", I also don't have any problems with the sisters. daughters or future wife(or your husband's) sampling around in the name of "as long as she consents". 🥱🥱

A slap is not a mistake. That is what she and others are trying to get you to realize. The same way a woman can't mistakenly slap her husband, same way a man can't mistakenly slap his wife. A slap comes from the same place that a stabbing comes from and both are rightly labeled crimes of passion aka violent assault. 🥱🥱

The same way men want sex is the same way women want sex. You knacking a girl on the first meeting simply means she, too, was looking for someone to have sex with, and she picked you out of the many men she probably considered that entire day or week.🥱

There are women out there who are not like your mothers. They are quite comfortable with their sexuality and refuse to buy into the lies that a woman is not to be as sexually free as a man is with his sexuality. All those bloody nonsense religious/traditional lies that were formerly used to subjugate women... fortunately, many women no longer buy into them today. 🥱

Is it that Allah of the Mohammedans eventually failed in what he originally claimed?
Narrated Jubair bin Nufair:
from Abu Ad-Darda who said: "We were with the Prophet (ﷺ) when he raised his sight to the sky, then he said: 'This is the time when knowledge is to be taken from the people, until what remains of it shall not amount to anything." So Ziyad bin Labid Al-Ansari said: 'How will it be taken from us while we recite the Qur'an. By Allah we recite it, and our women and children recite it?' He (ﷺ) said: 'May you be bereaved of your mother O Ziyad! I used to consider you among the Fuqaha of the people of Al-Madinah. The Tawrah and Injil are with the Jews and Christians, but what do they avail of them?'" Jubair said: "So I met 'Ubadah bin As-Samit and said to him: 'Have you not heard what your brother Abu Ad-Darda said?' Then I informed him of what Abu Ad-Darda said. He said: 'Abu Ad-Darda spoke the truth. If you wish, we shall narrated to you about the first knowledge to be removed from the people: It is Khushu', soon you will enter the congregational Masjid, but not see any man in it with Khushu'.'" - Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2653
If in 700AD, Mohammed's Quran confirmed that the Torah and the Injeel, which existed at his time, were the books supposedly inspired, preserved, and authorized by Allah of the Mohammedans and handed to the Jews and Christians. And the King David translation of the same books that exist today is based on the same books that Mohammed bore witness to back when he was alive. Then, if the claim is that the King David translation is in error, are you not invariably condemning Mohammed and Allah's insistence that the books are inspired, preserved, and authorized by Allah himself, the one whose word we are made to believe by Mohammed cannot be changed by any man.

Why should I forget the deeds of the man towards his own wives and slaves-- he looked down on women, had his own wives as property instructing that no man marry any of them resulting in all 9 of them not ever having kids even after his death according to Islam lore---to concern myself only with what you regard as his last sermons? 🥱🥱

Does this sermon change his deeds and pronouncements regarding women that hold to this day as part of Islamic tradition? 🥱🥱

✓ You refused to explain how Eve was created to be a "helper" as Adam cannot help himself. Are you equal to the one you are created to help?
✓ Covering your body is an injunction from Allah not from your husband or any other man. So this is out of the way! Man and woman are two distinct individuals created biologically different!
✓ Women even in the time of the Prophet were richer than men. And no one says a woman can't be rich. A woman is always to be taken care of by a man. As a father, husband, brother, etc. You can call it whatever you like. If i provide shelter, clothes and feeding for someone does that qualifies her as a second class citizen?
✓ Yes, that's protection. Many women living with their parents at 35+ today would die to get such treatment any day!
✓ This is submission as to the Lord. Ephesians 5:22 - Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. grin Isn't this hypocrisy? How does a wife submit to a husband as to the Lord? Is that not total submission?
✓ Show us the verses from Jesus!
2. You are sorely mistaken here. If you read the Injeel, you will find that even Jesus Christ of Israel sent His own Spirit of Truth as Helper to His followers, and in Jesus Christ of Israel's own words, the helper is one who counsels, comforts, guides and judges them. Is the Spirit of Truth sent by Jesus Christ a lesser being merely on grounds that He is referred to as a Helper in this? 🥱🥱

2. Now you are lying! Covering a woman up came up because Umar , a perverted being kept spying on Mohammed's wives and urging him to have the women covered up. Even Umar rejoiced when Mohammed eventually caved and suggested it was Allah who commanded it... 2 different times too...that it was his will that Allah had sanctioned. 🥱🥱

3. How many of Mohammed's own wives where these women? I am not asking of Khadijah by the way.🥱🥱🥱

4. Every day on this planet, about 120 women are killed by their men in their close circles --- fathers, brothers, uncles, boyfriend or husbands. This is equally true in the world of Islam were the vast majority of so-called honor killings are carried out by immediate male relatives of the victim. So, how can caging a woman to living a life caged to the whims of her potential killers be considered protection? 🥱🥱

5. The Lord of the Injeel is Jesus Christ of Israel and He proclaimed in His teachings that He alone is head over His followers. He is the one to judge them all...even according to the Quran, so when did Paul become one that a woman should submit to? And yes, a head or one who you submit to is one who is god over you. Even in the Old Law, YHWH never asked any man or woman to submit to another man or woman. So, how can a suggestion which violates both the Torah and Injeel be your go to? 🥱🥱

Oh, wait... Nevermind! I just remembered that Mohammed also subscribed to the Mishnah and the Talmud, books written by the lying pens of Israel. 🥱🥱

6. So, you have never read even the Injeel....just 4 books actually...but are quick to pretend you have it all figured out, same way you have probably also never read the Quran for yourself... right? 😩😩😩

20 Honest Questions for Sincere Christians to Consider
➜ Are you following truth—or tradition?
These 20 questions are for honest Christians willing to reflect deeply. They're not to attack, but to help you think beyond emotion and inherited beliefs. “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” – John 8:321.
1. Did Jesus ever clearly and explicitly say, in his own words, “I am God, worship me”? (If not, why do you believe he is God?)
2. If God is all-knowing and all-powerful, how can He be “killed” or “die” on a cross? (Who was running the universe during those three days?)

3. Why does the Bible say “God is not a man” (Numbers 23:19) if Jesus is God?

4. Can something be both 100% God and 100% man at the same time without contradiction?
(Is that logical or coherent?)

5. Is believing in a man as God not a form of idolatry (worshipping the creation)?

6. Why do you believe in the Trinity when the term is never mentioned in the Bible?
(Where did the concept actually come from?)

7. Why does the Old Testament emphasize the absolute oneness of God so clearly (e.g. Deuteronomy 6:4)?
(Was God hiding the Trinity for thousands of years?)

8. Why did Jesus pray to God if he was God? Was he praying to himself?

9. If Jesus was “God in the flesh,” who was he referring to when he called on “the Father”?

10. Why did Jesus say, “The Father is greater than I” (John 14:28)?
(If they are equal in the Trinity, why is one greater?)

11. Why did Jesus not know the hour of the Day of Judgment if he was fully God? (Mark 13:32)
(Can an all-knowing God not know something?)

12. Why is salvation in Christianity based on the murder of an innocent man (Jesus) for the sins of others?
(Is that just, or even moral?)

13. Does a loving God need a blood sacrifice to forgive?
(Couldn’t He just forgive like He did in the Old Testament?)

14. If salvation comes through faith alone, why did Jesus say to obey the commandments to enter eternal life? (Matthew 19:17)

15. Why do most Christians follow Paul more than Jesus?
(Jesus taught strict monotheism and obedience to God; Paul focused on grace and faith over law.)

16. Why do so many biblical scholars and historians question the authenticity and authorship of major books in the New Testament?

17. How can a book written decades after Jesus, with anonymous authors, be accepted as God's Word without question?

18. Why are there over 30,000 Christian denominations if the Bible is “clear” and guided by the Holy Spirit?

19. If Jesus came only for the lost sheep of Israel (Matthew 15:24), why do Gentiles (non-Jews) claim his message is for them?

20. Would Jesus recognize today’s Christianity—with its rituals, holidays, and beliefs—as his true message?
(Or would he be shocked by how far it has strayed from his teachings?)

Final Reflection:

> “Truth does not fear questioning. Only falsehood requires blind faith.”

Short Conclusion

Truth stands up to questions—falsehood doesn’t.
If these questions shake you, don’t fear it. Real faith begins with honest searching.

> “God is not the author of confusion…” – 1 Corinthians 14:33
To be continued...

4. Can something be both 100% God and 100% man at the same time without contradiction? (Is that logical or coherent?)
1. A child does not explicitly have to hear his dad say the words, "I am your father," before the child comes to believe that the man who has been raising him from his birth is his father. This need you have for explicit declaration of status by way of the statement “I am God, worship me” may be a rule for Islam, but it is not a rule anywhere else. undecided

To answer your question, yes, Jesus Christ of Israel, by virtue of comparing Himself to YHWH, declaring that He is the Word, the Truth, and the Eternal Life of YHWH, essentially declared Himself to be worshipped by His followers, who in turn would receive Eternal Life from Jesus Christ of Israel— the salvation/redemption Israelites needed from the curse of sin and death which they had incured by their disobedience of the Law. And the only way they could obtain that was through their trust and obedience to Jesus Christ of Israel, the Law of YHWH in the nation that is the Kingdom of God. undecided

The prophecy that was given by YHWH to come through the line of Jesse declared that an Eternal King would come to reign forever over the throne of Israel. And through that King, all of Israel would be saved. undecided

2. According to the Injeel, YHWH is God, the Father of Jesus Christ of Israel. YHWH is greater than Jesus Christ of Israel, and Jesus Christ of Israel does the Will of His Father, YHWH. So, the Father sent the Son into the human dimension to have the human experience and die the human death. And after He experienced the human death that was created by His Father, YHWH, in Genesis 3 vs 14 - 24, Jesus Christ of Israel raised Himself from the dead after 3 days in the grave(paradise is the grave). 🥱🥱

That is it! It is really self-explanatory for those who read the book with an unbiased mind. undecided

3. The original statement was made by Balaam when YHWH of Israel spoke through Balaam to Balak Son of Zippor.
16 So the Lord came to Balaam and told Balaam what to say. Then he told Balaam to go back to Balak and say these things.
17 So Balaam went to Balak. Balak was still standing near the altar. The leaders of Moab were there with him. Balak saw Balaam coming and said, “What did the Lord say?”
18 Then Balaam said this: “Stand up, Balak, and listen to me. Hear me, Balak son of Zippor.
19 God is not a man; he will not lie. God is not a human being; his decisions will not change. If he says he will do something, then he will do it. If he makes a promise, then he will do what he promised. - Numbers 23 vs 16 - 19
YHWH is God of Israel, Father of Jesus Christ of Israel. He is the God referenced in the above passage. Jesus Christ of Israel is not YHWH but He is the Son of YHWH. undecided

4. Yes! It is possible. Have you not seen the movie Avatar, or The Last Airbender? We see analogies of this sort of thing— beings existing in different spaces at the same time —in many spaces in our daily lives. However, seems some of us would remain blind to this still. undecided

Godhood and Human-ness are not contradictory experiences but rather distinct in that one does not counter the other. When Adam was made in Genesis 2, for example, he was made of flesh and blood, and yes, also in the image of YHWH —righteous standard of YHWH —indicating that humanity does not contradict Godhood of God or nullify it. Before sin, Adam was a son of God, and God walked and communicated with him. However, it was sin that voided his status/relationship with God. 🥱🥱

Jesus Christ is described as the Word spoken out of YHWH's mouth, and also YHWH's Eternal Life— there are no other Eternal lives to YHWH. He has been there with YHWH for eternity. And just because he created for himself a human avatar in the human dimension through which he lived the human experience does not take away from or diminish from His Godhood. 🥱🥱

You only need to look in your Quran to see that even Mohammed capitulated to Jesus being the holy son of, in this case, YHWH.🥱🥱
16. Relate in the Book (The story of) Mary, When she withdrew From her family To a place in the East.
17. She placed a screen (To screen herself) from them ; Then We sent to her Our angel, and he appeared Before her as a man In all respects.
18. She said : “ I seek refuge From thee to (God) Most Gracious : (come not near) If thou dost fear God.”
19. He said : “ Nay, I am only A messenger from thy Lord, (To announce) to thee The gift of a holy son.
20. She said : “ How shall I Have a son, seeing that No man has touched me, And I am not unchaste ? ”
21. He said : “ So (it will be) : Thy Lord saith, ‘ That is Easy for Me : and (We Wish) to appoint him As a Sign unto men And a Mercy from Us ’ : It is a matter (So) decreed.” - Quran 19 vs16-21

Suckling babies are not spared. This is what Sharia Law—Islam — is for women. We see this in Aghanistan and it is the norm across Islam, except the majority do not adhere to the Quran. Since you know better you should have cited them here. What was the last sermon Muhammad gave? Google it and see for yourself particularly the part regarding women!
The Quran and the Hadiths document Mohammed's treatment of women during his lifetime, and apart from his first wife, who was both his employer and benefactor— she died before Mohammed revealed this other side of him towards women—, no other woman experienced this supposed benevolence you claim Islam has towards women. To Mohammed, women were merely tools for the purpose and pleasure of men. His words regarding them, going as far as to claim their intelligence is questionable and that their witness is half that of a man, speak volumes regarding the kind of man Mohammed was, and the sort of heart he had towards women. undecided

Are you insinuating that, despite Mohammed's Allah's claim that he inspired, preserved, and authorized the Torah and the Injeel, the books were at some point no longer preserved and authorized by Allah? Basically, are you insinuating that at some point Allah changed his mind about preserving and authorizing the Torah and the Injeel at some point? 🥱🥱

2. Are you insinuating that Mohammed's Allah was mistaken in declaring that no man can change his Word as declared in the Torah and the Injeel?
114. ˹Say, O Prophet,˺ “Should I seek a judge other than Allah while He is the One Who has revealed for you the Book ˹with the truth˺ perfectly explained?” Those who were given the Scripture know that it has been revealed ˹to you˺ from your Lord in truth. So do not be one of those who doubt.🥱🥱
115. The Word of your Lord has been perfected in truth and justice. None can change His Words. And He is the All-Hearing, All- Knowing. - Quran 6 vs 114 - 115
Are you suggesting here that King David was able to falsify the claim made by Mohammed's Allah that no one can change his word?
43. But why do they come to you for judgment when they ˹already˺ have the Torah containing Allah’s judgment, then they turn away after all? They are not ˹true˺ believers.
44. Indeed, We revealed the Torah, containing guidance and light, by which the prophets, who submitted themselves to Allah, made judgments for Jews. So too did the rabbis and scholars judge according to Allah’s Book, with which they were entrusted and of which they were made keepers. So do not fear the people; fear Me! Nor trade my revelations for a fleeting gain. And those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are ˹truly˺ the disbelievers.
45. We ordained for them in the Torah, “A life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth—and for wounds equal retaliation.” But whoever waives it charitably, it will be atonement for them. And those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are ˹truly˺ the wrongdoers.
46. Then in the footsteps of the prophets, We sent Jesus, son of Mary, confirming the Torah revealed before him. And We gave him the Gospel containing guidance and light and confirming what was revealed in the Torah—a guide and a lesson to the God-fearing.
47. So let the people of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed in it. And those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are ˹truly˺ the rebellious.
48. We have revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ this Book with the truth, as a confirmation of previous Scriptures and a supreme authority on them. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their desires over the truth that has come to you. To each of you We have ordained a code of law and a way of life. If Allah had willed, He would have made you one community, but His Will is to test you with what He has given ˹each of˺ you. So compete with one another in doing good. To Allah you will all return, then He will inform you ˹of the truth˺ regarding your differences. - Quran 5 vs 43 - 48
Was Mohammed's Allah fooling us all when he supposedly made the above claims regarding the Torah and the Injeel? 🥱🥱

3. I am not here to argue for any religion. But I do find it interesting that even though in Quran 5 vs 43- 48 above, Mohammed claims Allah gave both the Torah and the Injeel to the Jews and then to the Christians. Are you insinuating that you, in fact, disagree with Allah, given the Christians— this is from the Quran and not from me — the Injeel in fulfilment of the Torah? 🥱🥱

4. That is interesting. Paul never actually said his letters constitute Scripture. So, I can't actually fault him for any of what the religion of Christianity turned his letters into. However, the fact that Allah sanctions the Christians in his Quran and went as far as to quote from one of Paul's letters, though, leaves me questioning whether Mohammed's Allah knew that the letters of Paul(and the letters of all of the other disciples), which the Christians follow, were not, in fact, part of the Injeel at the time Mohammed encountered the Christians. 🥱🥱

5. But Mohammed is also dead, too, and he died of a cut aorta, for that matter. So what are you saying? 🥱🥱

➜Hoyland, Arabia and the Arabs (2001), pages 146-147. I mistakenly cited pages 161-165 (polytheism) instead which discuss the monotheistic shift to the Merciful...Lord of heaven and earth.
➜ Gajda, Le royaume de Himyar (2009), pages 115, 226-231.
➜ CIH 6 is a physical artifact that has been catalogued. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CIH_6
➜ Can you find one Himyarite monotheistic inscription that uses Hebrew or Christian divine names?
1. Even those pages don't support the claims made by you. ➜

2. Couldn't get a copy of the book in English to read.

3. Can we please get back to the main issue here, which is the original claim you made regarding Abraham and the hanif, or of him being a hanif from whom the supposed monotheists that predate Islam in the region are descended? I am tired of the numerous segways at this point. Nothing in the artifact or the inscription says anything regarding a hanif or Abraham. undecided

4. I don't see any reason to do that since there exists more than enough evidence to suggest that there were Jewish settlements in the Himyaritic kingdom long before the idea of Islam hit Mohammed's mind. undecided
