If you find yourself working the same job even 20 years down the road, it is still OK. I remember there is a place here in the city where I live where I found people who have worked in cold rooms for over 10 years. Some of them are Americans while others are foreigners. If it was such a bad job as claimed by the OP why are there people who have done it for so long and become experts at that? Nigerians too dey like to put jobs and things they don't understand down in ignorance. |

And worse, people working those jobs in Nigeria would likely not be provided or paid enough to afford the gear to help them better do those jobs.

Travel › Re: "Helicopter" Made By Nigerians That Got People Talking (Photos) by Kobojunkie: 3:45pm On Oct 10, 2024 |
Gistmedia10: A group of Nigerian local engineers has recently captured attention by showcasing a helicopter they built using discarded materials such as ceiling fans, rods, and other scrap items. The impressive display featured the ceiling fan rotating on the helicopter’s tail and a custom-made fan on top, which intrigued onlookers. However, despite the anticipation, the helicopter did not take off, leaving many viewers slightly disappointed. Some had hoped to see at least a small lift-off, but the aircraft remained grounded. Nonetheless, there was an outpouring of praise for the engineers’ creativity and effort. One viewer expressed admiration, saying, "This is great, I initially thought it would lift up a little, but it didn't. If we had visionary leaders, talented persons like this would be invested in. Unfortunately, we don’t; then when foreigners utilize their talents, all the government does is write congratulatory speeches or complain about Nigerians leaving the country." While some celebrated the ingenuity, others were critical of the project. "They should stop all these. This is the 21st century. If you cannot do it the way the whites are doing it, forget it and stop wasting your precious and productive time," one viewer remarked. This piece would work great in front of a library or school of Engineering. Great job as a first step! |

Ntigha: With the present grave economic and social situation of Nigeria today, worsened by the misrule and deadly economic policies which has no clear benefit to the masses of the country , rather is throwing the Nigerian citizens into one of the worst excruciating hunger, insecurity and abject ooverty ever experienced in the history of the country, I hereby ask Nigerians to save the country from impending anarchy and doom by putting pressure for to have the incompetent presidency of Bola Tinubu removed through impeachment. This is the conversation that Nigerians ought to be having at this point in time. I don't understand what they are still waiting for. |

Glimpsetv: A Nigerian man has taken to his TikTok account to advise fellow Nigerians moving abroad about certain jobs they should avoid or approach with caution. Speaking from what appears to be personal experience, he mentioned workplaces like cold rooms and other jobs, explaining why it’s not advisable to take up such roles. Watch the video, share your thoughts in the comments. Rubbish! This submission is made in ignorance. Most of the jobs he listed are found right there in Nigeria and Nigerians are working them in that same Nigeria as well. So why would you frown on working the same job abroad, simply because you assume those there don't like to work them? Every job is worth doing. |

You go in making sure you have the right gear for the job and you might actually end up enjoying the job. RealityKings: ■ Good morning ma Nigeria and whatever country you stay in don't operate the same laws and you can't compel Nigerian Justice system to be inclined towards your perception of how the Law should be.Also I once told you that through out the whole world laws are bent to fit certain people's needs, in other words, there are no such things as laws. Even in the US, the "powers that be" can charge you with allegations based on anything and keep you behind the bars. Infact you can even be terminated under the watch of security personnels and nothing will happen. I know you must have seen this play out One good example is Jeffrey Epstein. What I just described as the case in the state I live in here in the U.S. is the same as what takes place LEGALLY in Nigeria. Your laws in Nigeria stipulating when an arrest can or cannot be entered into attest to this fact — Section 38(1) of the Nigerians Police Act 2020 & Section 18(1) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act.. Additionally, the fact that this Burna boy was somehow able to allow for the release of Speedy also suggests the courts were never informed of the arrest from the start— to drop a case in the courts does not happen that automagically—, a clear violation of the Nigeria Law. If you don't know or understand your laws, please research to brush up on what it says. Do not come here and argue ignorantly about what you are not knowledgeable of. |

RealityKings: true Rubbish! I currently live in a state where defamation is listed under the criminal code as a misdemeanor same as in Nigeria— just like in Nigeria, defamation law here is written right in the Criminal Offences....Act. However, you don't dial 911 when you have or think you are being defamed. Rather, you are told to file a lawsuit against the one who you feel defamed you so the courts can upon reviewing your case decide whether it is a defamation case, whether the plaintiff should be compensated, or whether the defendant should be fined or serve jail time. An arrest can only be made in such cases if a misdemeanor warrant is issued by the courts. I doubt a policeman witnessing a defamation case of any kind has the right to arrest the defendant since a case needs to be filed in the courts for that to become a valid case, to begin with. Another interesting thing to note is that here in the U.S. there has been a push to decriminalize defamation since laws that criminalize it violate Freedom of Speech. Of course, Freedom of Speech does not give any the absolute right to harass other citizens, but civil lawsuits are fully capable of addressing the harm caused by defamation. And so the argument is that criminal defamation laws should have no place in a democracy. |

hotseat: ■ "potential consequences", as you call it, has come to play. Why then the weeping and wailing? Pay attention to what I said... and make sure to carefully process it before you respond. Kobojunkie: Again, you are saying anything new or with meaning. FREEDOM OF SPEECH as proffered to every Citizen by the Supreme Law of the Land means people have a right to say what they want to say and, yes, face the consequences afterward. The same Law that offers the benefit also states the potential consequences. So, anyone who uses the benefit is already aware and basically acts knowing full well of all of this. |
Celebrities › Re: Rudeboy & Blessing CEO React To Speed Darlington's Arrest & Release by Kobojunkie: 9:18pm On Oct 09, 2024 |
hotseat: ■ Freedom of speech has its limitations. It is not guaranteed if one uses it as a cover to peddle lies about others. There are no limitations except the one you imagine in your head because the very same Law that proffers it also defines the potential consequences that follow it leaving it up to those who take advantage of the right to also accept the potential consequences as they do. |
Celebrities › Re: Rudeboy & Blessing CEO React To Speed Darlington's Arrest & Release by Kobojunkie: 9:10pm On Oct 09, 2024 |
hotseat: ■ Freedom also involves obligation. There's nothing like freedom of speech to peddle falsehoods and damage the character of others because where your freedom ends, someone else's own begins. Again, you are saying anything new or with meaning. FREEDOM OF SPEECH as proffered to every Citizen by the Supreme Law of the Land means people have a right to say what they want to say and, yes, face the consequences afterward.
