Christianity Etc › Re: Is It Possible To Have A Saintly And Perfect Church Here On Earth? by Kobojunkie: 1:12am On Mar 08, 2024 |
adeiza4u: ■ Happy Sunday Brethren. I recently discovered, that churches I thought are perfect still have some sinners among them; even the most conservative churches still have some persons who are swimming in sins despite the preaching of the sound word of God and biblical doctrines. So I humbly ask, can we have a complete, saintly, and perfect church on earth? Thanks. Religion is a system designed by men with which to scam their fellow men and women with. There is nothing holy/perfect that can come from that which is antiChrist from its very foundation. Light cannot emanate from that which is darkness in its origin and intentions. So, you waste your time searching for the God of Israel(and His Son, Jesus Christ) from such. |

dadexcel: ■ For my Christian brothers, please I need clarification on this... Today's topic in RCCG sunday school talked about heaven and those that are already there.... Some of whom include dead saints of Old, prophets etc. ■ My question is , based on what PAUL said in first thess 4 where he stated that at the trumpet sound the dead in Christ would rise first before we that are Holy at the time will meet them in the sky and we will finally join our saviour in heaven. So I need to know, if the dead saints are presently in heaven, who are the ones that will rise first at the trumpet sound..... They lied to you. There is nobody in Heaven(Eternal Reward) or Hell(Eternal Damnation). All of the prophets of Old, without exclusion, remain in their graves, sleeping, to this very day, waiting for the time of the resurrection, like the other righteous men of old, including the followers of Jesus Christ. 2. Paul is still in his grave to this day, waiting for Jesus Christ to return and judge even him. The resurrection will happen for them all when Jesus Christ returns. That is what Jesus Christ taught His followers. No one is allowed into Heaven(Eternal Damnation) or Hell(Eternal Damnation) until after Jesus Christ has first returned and judged His flock. So, these people who tell you that there are people already in Heaven or in Hell(in the Kingdom of God) are liars and scammers who only seek to steal from you using the name of God. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Will He Ever Answer My Prayers? by Kobojunkie: 12:53am On Mar 08, 2024 |
Sokere8: God is a sovereign spirit being who is always there to listen and grant our requests. When we make a request to our earthly parents, first, they examine the necessity of our demand, before it is either granted, postpone or cancelled. This is same with God. He answers all our prayers just that the answer may not come the way we expected it. Today, let’s look at the different forms God answers our prayers. 1) “Yes!” “Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and you will see it fulfilled.” Mark 11:24 It is normal to expect a “yes” answer to all our requests. Faith makes us believe before we see the manifestation of the answer. Getting a “yes” answer makes the heart joyful. God loves us so each time we ask for something good, He never fails in granting our heart desires. Also, perseverance in our prayers goes a long way in facilitating our answer. If you show seriousness about what you want it could soften the heart of the King to grant your request speedily. 2) “No!” “You ask, and you do not receive, because you ask badly, in order to satisfy your passions!” James 4.3 There was a day I was using a scissors to cut some clothes, my two years old niece saw me and wanted to collect the scissors, probably because she thought it was some toy. I always gave her things to play with but I refused to give her the scissors. She must have thought in her little mind that I hated her not knowing that I was only shielding her from hurting herself. When we ask for something from God, we assume what we want is good for us. But most times what we want might not be good for us. God, being an omniscience might decide not to grant our request. He knows exactly what is best for us. He knows very well that in granting certain prayers, there would be harmful consequences on our lives, or that of others, in the medium or long term. It could be a particular country you want to relocate to and you have prayed about it but the visa processing keeps bouncing. God may not want you to go there because of possible dangers He sees in the future over there. He could also have a better place or plan for your life. But most of us would prefer to whine about our unsuccessful attempts instead of depending on God for the fulfilment of His purpose in our lives. Another aspect that people hate to get a “No” is in the area of marriage. Probably because one had already fallen deeply in love with their partner, so when God says “NO!” they find it difficult to obey. There are huge consequences that follow every disobedience and great blessings for every obedience. It is good to always accept His “No” response while we wait for His direction. You see, Scripture states that God does not answer the prayers of the unrighteous; the pleas and requests and every petition, praise, offering, work, plea, sacrifice, etc., of the unrighteous are tainted by their sins(disobedience/unholiness) and are hence an abomination to God. So, what is definite is that even your many pleas for the forgiveness of sins are not answered by God given that God made no special exemptions for that kind of plea. No amount of praying can cause God to change His mind regarding that which concerns the unrighteous by the way. So if you are thinking of prescribing more prayers that only means you don't understand or know God at all. God, however, openly bragged about how He only answers the prayers of the righteous; He delights in granting them the desires of their heart meaning that they are those who he loves. For this very reason, Jesus Christ urged His followers to seek first the Kingdom of God and God's Righteousness so that all things— the blessings and rewards of the Kingdom of God(holiness), answers to prayers included—shall be added on to them. As Jesus Christ explained in His Gospel, the only way to become Holy, and then also Righteous, is by way of continuous submission and obedience to the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ, god's Truth and Law in the Kingdom of god - John 8 vs 31 - 36 & John 14 vs 15 - 23. Jesus Christ is the only way. Obedience to the Truth of God is the only path to God and His righteousness. No amount of praying and other religious rituals can accomplish that. God deals indirectly with the unrighteous, the same way He deals with the unbelievers including the wicked and the ungrateful and that is by pouring out His mercy and kindness on them daily. So every time as an unrighteous you feel that God has answered your prayer know that at that same moment, or moments before that, God also provided the same mercy or similar to someone else across the world — or maybe just across from you— who does not even believe in God, nor asked God for anything. So, if answers from God are what you seek, then do what Jesus Christ said you should, which is to seek first the Kingdom of God(holiness), and then God's righteousness, so that all these things —the blessings and rewards of the Kingdom of God(including answers to prayers) can be added to you. |

The post was about the Onan's incidence; where 'God' killed him for not bearing children from his brother's widow...though it didn't look like his fault. (Genesis 38:9). Now, my question is quite simple. Even though this may not be a christian tradition. I want to believe God is God of yesterday, today and tomorrow...and he never change because he said so. Now, will God kill me for not taking my deceased brother's wife?. Sincerely, I need proficient answers. First, show us where God said you must take your brother's wife as your own in the event of his death. Why are you Christians so mentally lazy and foolish? Why would you simply conclude without evidence or reference that the traditions of the people of the time had anything to do with God? |

sholay2011: ■ Your response is just not making sense. The same Jesus that gave His body apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers abi? ■ It's interesting you pulled verses from the Old Testament and could not counter what I stated. The role of a prophet in the Old testament (where they carried great authority) is clearly different from their role in the New testament (which was why despite Agabus prophesying to Paul in Acts 21 regarding what could happen if he went to Jerusalem, Paul still went ahead to Jerusalem). ■ In the New testament, prophecy is no longer our primary source for direction and guidance, since as children of God we can be led by the Holy Spirit. Rather, it should be for confirmation but God still use it in areas of direction, especially when it has to do with things of larger scope (that is, not limited to individuals, like Agabus prophesying about a famine in Judea in Acts 11). 1 Corinthians 14:3 says But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. ■ Once again, prophets in the New Testament: Acts 13:1: Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 1. Jesus Christ NEVER did any of what you claim there. He sent His followers out as apostles, not as prophets or pastors or teachers(evangelists). He said He alone was Teacher - Matthew 23 vs 8 - 10 -, Prophet(He said He was the last sent by God), and Shepherd(Pastor) - John 10 vs 7 - 16 - to His flock. So, was Jesus Christ nothing but a liar? 2. I am not certain what you mean I could not counter. According to the book of Numbers - Numbers 12 vs 1 - 6, a Prophet is anyone whom God spoke to through dreams and visions. What do you mean by differences in roles? 3. But Jesus Christ, the one who is Himself the New Testament, NEVER instituted prophecy or the gift thereof to any of HIs followers. The only signs to follow every one of His followers are as outlined in Mark 16 vs 17 - 19 and it doesn't include prophecy — dreaming of dreams and seeing visions. So, where does this idea of yours come from since it does not come from the Gospel as given by Jesus Christ Himself? 4. Again, this idea of Prophets you have in the New testament is missing from the Gospel(New Testament) of Jesus Christ. Ever wondered why? |

sholay2011: ■ What are you saying? Acts 11:27-28: 27 And in these days prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch. 28 Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar. Acts 21:10-11: 10 And as we stayed many days, a certain prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. 11 When he had come to us, he took Paul’s belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said, “Thus says the Holy Spirit, ‘So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’ ” Agabus was a prophet. The four daughters of Philip for example, had the gift of prophecy. What most people who claim to believe don't realize is that God's original plan had been to speak directly to the people of Israel Himself. But the people, too afraid, demanded that Moses speak to them on behalf of God instead. 18 During all this time, the people in the valley heard the thundering and saw the lightning on the mountain. They saw smoke rising from the mountain and heard the sound of the trumpet. They were afraid and shook with fear. They stood away from the mountain and watched. 19 Then the people said to Moses, “If you want to speak to us, then we will listen. But please don’t let God speak to us. If this happens, we will die.” 20 Then Moses said to them, “Don’t be afraid! God has come to test you. He wants you to respect him so that you will not sin.” 21 The people stood far away from the mountain while Moses went to the dark cloud where God was. 22 Then the Lord told Moses to say this to the Israelites: “You people have seen that I talked with you from heaven. - Exodus 20 vs 18 - 22 It is for this reason that God of Israel, YHWH, set up His system of Prophets. 1. The God of Israel, YHWH, is the one who instituted the Prophet's system as part of His Old Law of Moses The Lord heard this. 3 (Moses was a very humble man. He was more humble than any other man on earth.) 4 So suddenly, the Lord came and spoke to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. He said, “You three, come to the Meeting Tent, now!” So Moses, Aaron, and Miriam went to the Tent. 5 The Lord came down in the tall cloud and stood at the entrance to the Tent. He called out, “Aaron and Miriam!” They went to him. 6 God said, “Listen to me! You will have prophets. I, the Lord, will let them learn about me through visions. I will speak to them in dreams. - Numbers 12 vs 1 -6 2. The same God of Israel announced through Daniel that before the end of Last Days — the conclusion of His Judgment against the Nation of Israel(and Judah), He would bring to an end the time of the Prophets and visions. 24 “God has allowed 70 weeks for your people and your holy city, Daniel. The 70 weeks are ordered for these reasons: to stop doing bad things, to stop sinning, to make people pure, to bring the goodness that continues forever, to put a seal on visions and prophets , and to dedicate a very holy place. - Daniel 9 vs 24 3. The same God of Israel, YHWH, announced through the prophet Joel that before the end of the Last Days, He would pour out His Spirit on all young men and women in the land of Zion. 28 “After this, I will pour out my Spirit on all kinds of people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will have dreams, and your young men will see visions. 29 In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on servants, both men and women. 30 I will work wonders in the sky and on the earth. There will be blood, fire, and thick smoke. 31 The sun will be changed into darkness, and the moon will be as red as blood. Then the great and fearful day of the Lord will come! 32 And everyone who trusts in the Lord will be saved. There will be survivors on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, just as the Lord said. Yes, those left alive will be the ones the Lord has called. - Joel 2 vs 28 - 32 Jesus Christ was the last prophet sent by God to the people of Israel as this is noted both in the parable spoken by Jesus Christ Himself. John the Baptist was the last of the Old Covenant prophets sent by the God of Israel. Jesus Christ confirmed this Himself. All the other prophets that came after those two are a result of God pouring out His Spirit on all of the daughters and sons of Zion in the land during the same generation that the disciples lived in. This all took place about 1900 years ago. |

DeLioncourt: ■ I doubt the authenticity of those online copies jare. Besides, many of them usually copy from other online sources so you never know what's authentic online. I hear it's almost impossible to access the original copy. Have you ever read the book yourself? Or you simply wish to cast down the opinions of others who may have all because you wish to believe in the claims that it contains mysteries and magic? |

Beautifulday: ■ I am not talking about doctrine. I am talking about people giving glory go the God of their pastor whom they don't know just because he does miracle. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the God of Israel. And He made it clear by way of His teachings and commandments that no man can give glory to His Son Jesus Christ. So when Churchians say they give glory to Him, this after He previously made clear He does not get glory from men, doesn't that serve as indication that Jesus Christ is not in fact the one whom they serve? Additionally, Jesus Christ did make it abundantly clear that all those who major in claiming to use His name to do miracles and wonders are not of Him --- He never knew them - Matthew 7 vs 20 - 23. Hope you see how important it is to pay attention to the doctrines and traditions? |
