10mobile: ∆ Who else noticed this? This report shows a coordinated international cooperation in Europe against Nigeria. First, the case is against a state in Nigeria, not against the Federal Government. A state government is a legal entity separate from the Federal Government. Yet, Federal Government properties are seized across France, Switzerland and UK, with the bailiff being Chinese. Then, while the bailiff is Chinese and the business transaction took place here in Africa, this lawsuit is taking place in a French court, and presided over by a UK judge. Many Nigerians don't seem to understand the implications of having a President who lacks international reputation. The world sees us as a lawless country that deserves no justice. And our President can't stand to talk eyeball-to-eyeball with them because they will quickly remind him of how unworthy he is to talk. Oya, insults from the bots.
While I do question this report, I also question the claim you made regarding Nigerian states existing as separate entities from the Federal. What I mean is that in the case where FG is a parent company while States are LLC subsidiaries, what is described is very much possible.
Anyways, I would look up information on the actual case myself for more details as I tend not to trust the narrative offered by the Nigerian side on many of these stories in international connections. E get why!
Gotocourt: “Even the most perfectly crafted constitution will fail to deliver the progress and stability”. If you don't gerrit, forgerrit it. We just need better laws. All this restructuring talk is nothing but constitutional amendment. I can't wait to see a vibrant local government in action. We need a system that will tackle corruption particularly infrastructural contractors. Kickbacks need to stop.
As it is, with the many unconstitutional amendments and laws made at the top of the current constitution, it is impossible to get better laws in Nigeria without repealing every law that has been signed in the last pretty much 25 years. Every successive government in that time has used our courts to put in place several hierarchies of anti-people laws that to do anything meaningful at this point, you might as well start with a new Constitution.
trium: ↪Finally, someone to call The Patriots to order because if we are not careful, they will be the ones to start setting agenda for us. A self interest group will distract us and be used to control public discourse.
The call for a new Constitution is not wrong, however, I agree with you that this is an attempt by the group to hijack what should be the mission chaired by the Nigerian people.
alanto: ↪Relax. He's right. There's nothing wrong with constitution. Of it will be tweaked and adjusted until it becomes perfect. What are you proposing in a new constitution?
The Constitution has already been bastardized by the current administration more so than any other before it. Even if we were to roll back all the bills signed in the last 25 years, we would still not be able to get away from the fact that many of the laws stipulated were easily tampered with. A new Constitution signed off on by the People is the right way to go at this point in time.
zeuss: ↪A constitution that was conceived and drafted under military rule and direction leveraged on the force of arms is not reflective of the true aspirations and ideals of a free people. That said 1999 constitution is as illegal as the coup that that imposed the government of its birth.
If you have ever in fact read the document for yourself, you will find that the problem we have today did not start with it. Yes, it was forced on Nigerians but that is not enough of a reason for why Nigeria turned out the way it has today. Understand that Constitutions are not magical documents. If the people require enforcement of the laws Supreme Laws highlighted in the documentation at every level of government, the Supreme Law becomes nothing more than a background joke.
The current constitution would have worked well had the people been installed themselves as the backbone of this democracy from the beginning. Rather, Nigerians got themselves chasing after Messiahs forgetting their role was meant to be as the Messiahs in what was meant to be their democracy.
BeeBeeOoh: ↪Tanko Yakasai, founding member of the Arewa Consultative Forum, says Nigeria’s constitution is not the problem, but those operating it. Yakasai said this in reaction to a call by The Patriots, a group of elder statesmen who recently visited President Bola Tinubu and canvassed for a new constitution. In a statement on Wednesday, Yakasai said without a change of mindset and conduct of the country’s leaders, “even the most perfectly crafted constitution will fail to deliver the progress and stability”. The elder statesman said internal cohesion and “rigorous debate” must be prioritised by The Patriots before engaging in external advocacy. “I have observed with deep concern the recent visit by some members of The Patriots to the president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, where they canvassed for a new constitution for our beloved country, Nigeria,” he said. “As a founding member of this esteemed group and an elder statesman committed to the well-being of our nation, I must express my reservations about both the process and the content of the submission made during this visit. “First, it is regrettable that due process was not followed in articulating the views that were presented to the president. A matter of such national importance requires thorough consultation, inclusive deliberation, and the consensus of all founding members.
Tanko is half right here!
The blame for the situation in Nigeria today is the Nigerian people who have taken a backseat approach to their democracy for almost the whole 25 years of democracy. Democracy is supposed to be a government of the people by the people, however, the Nigerian people have instead chosen to relinquish their power and status to their elected servants and are merely paying dearly for that terrible decision. No matter how ironclad a constitution is, if the people refuse to vet and elect competent public servants, at the same time monitoring them to ensure they are eliminated when necessary, the same situation is bound to occur.
As for the looters in power today, do you really blame them for taking advantage when the people meant to be responsible for holding them accountable at every turn refused to do so?
Of course, at this point, Nigeria does need a new constitution as the current one is no better than used tissue paper. But even a new Constitution, cannot guarantee a difference if the people of Nigeria remain set in their old ways.

The investment will cover the Agbara, Mowe, and Sagamu industrial clusters, and will support the development of additional power transmission substations while upgrading existing ones. The investment will also be used to reconduct existing weak high voltage power lines, and provide new extensions for capacity strengthening and expansion to the new grid. The investment falls under Nigeria's Presidential Power Initiative, which aims inter alia to boost transmission infrastructure within the province's industrial corridor. https://energycapitalpower.com/japan-invests-500m-to-boost-nigerias-power-supply/

Difrent: ↪Sponsored by Tinubu to reduce Atikus chances at becoming PDP flagbearer
Atiku ate the Vice President's salary for 8 years straight so he cannot say he is not part and parcel of the disaster that is Nigeria today. During all time, even Atiku's people in his LGA and hometown could not boast of any of the following, to this day. ■ Electricity ■ Clean Water Supply ■ Sewage ■ Good Roads(roads built by the ancient Romans thousands of years ago are still very much available to this day) ■ Passenger Rail ■ Security ■ Reliable internet and mobile services ■ Waste Management ■ Strong healthcare system ■sturdy educational & training System ■a Welfare/Social system...
Former Vice President Atiku is one of the many colossal failures of the last 25 years. Let's stop recycling obvious Kakistocrats!
adeyemiayoblog: ↪Join the Movement for Seyi Makinde, President 2027—Transforming Nigeria Through Education Comrade Ayodeji Adeyemi is writing from FCT - Abuja. Fellow Nigerians, Today, I write to you not just as a concerned citizen, but as someone deeply invested in the future of our great nation. We have come to a critical juncture in our history, a time when the choices we make will determine whether our children will inherit a land of promise or one plagued by the failures of the past. Our education system, the very backbone of our development, has suffered from decades of neglect. But there is hope. There is a leader who has proven that with vision, dedication, and unwavering commitment, we can turn the tide. That leader is Governor Seyi Makinde. In Oyo State, Governor Makinde has shown us what is possible when education is given the priority it deserves. Under his leadership, education is not just a privilege for the few but a right for every child. He took bold steps to eliminate school fees, making education free and accessible for all. He invested heavily in our schools, ensuring that our children learn in environments that are conducive to success. He recruited thousands of teachers, ensuring that our students receive the guidance and mentorship they need to thrive.
It's been 25 years and about $100 billion dollars down the drain at this point and Nigerians are still without the following basic amenities
■ Electricity ■ Clean Water Supply ■ Sewage ■ Good Roads(roads built by the ancient Romans thousands of years ago are still very much available to this day) ■ Passenger Rail ■ Security ■ Reliable internet and mobile services ■ Waste Management ■ Strong healthcare system ■sturdy educational & training System ■a Welfare/Social system....

Ohibenemma: When you see people gesturing like Kyari in the photo up there, just know an ignoramus is trying to appear informed. But how long will this charade go on? How long before this man is sacked for incompetence? Sentiments aside,he has shown it beyond every doubt that he isn't competent enough to do the job set for him. Even if the refineries commence production TODAY, it doesn't change the fact.
References1: ↪ The Federal Government and state governors may have agreed to a three-month moratorium on Local Government autonomy, over concerns arising from its impact on salary payments and operational viability, The PUNCH learnt on Monday. The development means Local Governments may wait till October before the implementation of the law in the direct payment into their respective accounts. The Supreme Court, on July 11, 2024, gave a landmark judgment affirming the financial autonomy of the 774 LGs in the country and ruled that governors could no longer control funds meant for the councils. The apex court also directed the Accountant-General of the Federation to pay LG allocations directly to their accounts, as it declared the non-remittance of funds by the 36 states unconstitutional. Under former President Muhammadu Buhari, the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit issued a regulation, effective from June 1, 2019, which banned transactions on State and Local Governments Joint Accounts. Funds were sent directly to the accounts of the local governments. It also limited cash withdrawals from local governments accounts to a maximum amount of N500,000 per day with penalties for banks that failed to comply. The Nigerian governors under the aegis of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum kicked against this regulation and the NFIU eventually capitulated.
If this wasn't all a fraudulent ruling against the people of Nigeria, to begin with, would the FG have had the audacity to put a stay on the implementation of the ruling? Nigerians love being deceived by their new found masters, their politricktians.
press9jatv: ↪ Due to alleged poor performance, the people of the Iwo constituency of Osun State have threatened to recall the lawmaker representing them in the Osun State House of Assembly, Mr Rabiu Atanda. They made the threat in an open letter signed by Ayo-Akano Ayokunmi, on behalf of the Iwoland Indigenes Council. The Iwoland Indigenes Council, in the open letter obtained, claimed that Atanda had been inactive in the House of Assembly, noting that the lawmaker had not sponsored any bill or motion since he got into the parliament. They also accused him of failure to open a constituency office, making it hard for people to reach him for feedback. The group said, “While acknowledging that leadership is a Herculean task, we have also observed keenly that since your inauguration in June 2023, not only have you been silent on the floor of the House, but you have also refused to open a constituency office, nor have you made public the people you have chosen to work with, which is supposed to provide a platform for your people to reach out to you. “It is also sad to note that we have checked around Iwo and cannot point to a single project you have embarked upon or even influenced by virtue of your position as a lawmaker. In July 2024, it was observed that your ‘supposed’ media team shared on Facebook that you inaugurated two offices to be built at Oluwo and Kara markets. We wish to ask about the state of these offices, as your team noted that they were to be completed in three months.” “We also note that you have not sponsored any bill or raised any motion on the floor of the House, particularly regarding the state of road networks within Iwo and the deplorable condition of the Osogbo-Iwo Road, which has long been a campaign model for political office holders.
No need to issue useless threats against the man abeg! Recall him and go from there o'jare!

Your post raises more questions than it does anything else.
First, you claim you read the Sahara Reporters article, but somehow you failed to see that the article never in fact said the project was directly linked to the State Governor in any way. Neither did Tracka link the particular project to the State Governor. How come? Second, the allocation in question made for that road was for the year 2023. Your post claims what you posted is the true state of the road today. But it raises questions. ∎When was the road worked on? ∎What this road built back in 2023 or was it built in 2024? ∎Was it the same Naira 34 million that was allocated back in 2023 by Orji Uzor Kalu that built this present road or was there more money allocated for the same road in 2024 by Orji Uzor Kalu, the particular individual, a senator, who has been noted as being in charge of the particular development by the Tracka group?
Kemistri3: For clarity:This is a constituency project done by the Abia North senator And the implementing agency is the Nigeria Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI), which is a federal parastetal

FuglyGurl: Nuhu Ribadu, the NSA, told a gathering of council of state on Tuesday in Abuja that his office had purportedly discovered large cash assets traced to alleged sponsors of the protests, including $37 million in a crypto address. Mr Ribadu said politicians looking to undermine President Bola Tinubu were behind the protests and he had been working to expose their financial ties. The claim further amplifies the government’s weeks-long characterisation of the protests as politically motivated without supplying any evidence in support. Shortly after Mr Ribadu’s claim about his efforts to the council, which he said had been coordinated with the EFCC, court documents circulated on social media containing the order of a federal judge that sought to confiscate crypto accounts on allegations of money laundering and terrorism financing. EFCC HeadquatersA photo of EFCC Headquaters used to illustrate the story[photo credit:BBC] While the ex-parte warrant granted to the EFCC did not contain names of alleged sponsors of the protests, Mr Ribadu had deployed generic terms in his address to the council of state that appeared geared towards advancing a smear gambit against millions of Nigerians who took to the streets nationwide from August 1-10. The EFCC listed four crypto addresses in its application for a warrant to the Abuja judge, Emeka Nwite, on August 9, claiming to have found large sums in the accounts and arguing it was in the national interest to confiscate them.
