My general sentiments on Nigeria are known and are just as revolutionary as anything you may want to come up with….if not more! However, with this post of mine you quoted, i was softening my stance a bit and trying to work with the cards i’ve been dealt! I was wearing my ‘Nigerian cap’ (which i hardly ever wear) to make the post you just quoted!
Now let’s hear your solution as against the ones proposed by the eminent group that visited Tinubu! I’m waiting! I assume you DO know what they proposed as solutions to the myriad of problems facing Nigeria!?

Just to rob a little more salt to your injury, below is a little snippet from the article, that clearly points out the fact that Peter Obi's administration played a crucial part in the security excellence of Anambra
The inspector-general hailed the relationship between the police and the government under Peter Obi, which contributed to the improved security, and reassured Governor Obiano that the police would give him a 100 per cent support to rid the state of kidnappers and robbers.
Forgive me but I have never really been one to take the police at its word. I would rather we examine starts which in fact compare data so we see it for ourselves or have an idea of where the conclusion may have come from. undecided

Nigeria sef! We all know what to do to set the country back on the track to El-Dorado, but wouldn’t do it because those who wrote the script on which Nigerias’ evolution since the late 60s has played out have sworn they will never help facilitate a change in the status-quo that ‘benefits’ them!
Just the other day, eminent Nigerians went to see Tinubu and their leader, Emeka Anyaoku, read out their proposals which were no different from what we all have been banging on about for decades now! Even Tinubu, when he was against the Abacha military gov’t and when he was in opposition, voiced similar sentiments! But now he’s found himself in Aso-Rock, all of a sudden he decided to sing from a different hymn sheet entirely! Guess the answer he gave to his august visitors….he only went and told them that he’s concerned with the Nigerian economy for now! Can you imagine! What a cop-out! It’s lost on him that the present dire situation of the Nigerian economy and other facets of national life are all symptoms of the problem and not the problem itself! First restructure the entire structure and political-economy of the country, and all these problems and contradictions will naturally begin to dissipate and correct themselves! Duh!!! It’s not rocket science!
No be many of the same eminent Nigerians dem take use shove this very Constitution, which the man now says needs to be reviewed, at you? Wake the fk up to see that your so-called eminent Nigerians are nothing but the same class of politicians at the root of the current problems you have in the country today. Any solution that does not come from ordinary Nigerians should be rejected because they cannot be the same. Don't let these politicians hijack the powers that belong to the people anymore. undecided

↪A 36-year-old farmer, Sunday Ayenis, from Uba Oka in Akoko Southwest Local Government Area, was killed just days after herders compensated him for damaging his crops.
Villagers alleged that the herders were responsible for the killing, saying that Ayenis was found dead in his farm with his intestines exposed.
It was gathered that his dog, which had accompanied him to the farm, was also killed and found lying beside him.
Sources suggest the attack occurred because the herders were dissatisfied with the amount of compensation they had paid.
The compensation was reportedly negotiated by security agents and community elders.
According to the source: “He went to his farm with his dog as usual yesterday but he didn’t come back on time and this led to a search party going to the bush.

“It was the search party who discovered his lifeless body in pool of his blood with his dog and cutlass beside him.”

Some university students who recently benefitted from the N20,000 stipend paid by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund have begun celebrating the receipt of the money.
While some took to social media to share their surprise, others narrated how they spent the money on foodstuffs. A few said it took the burden of care off their parents.
Financial constraint is a major challenge facing many students of public tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
The lack of funds has kept many young people out of school, as their parents or guardians cannot afford to sponsor their tertiary education.

↪ You have a point but you must know that Nigerians Complain And Expect Their Government To Do Everything For Them.
This is well within reason because that is what the government is there for.. to do for the people what the people are not able to do for themselves and so far, the Nigerian Government has failed to provide the people with pretty much all of the basic needs and enabling environment for them to thrive in. By the way, the people pay the Government to do exactly this so failure of the government to deliver on the responsibilities they are paid amounts to wickedness against the people. undecided

In the last 25 years of this democracy, Nigerians have paid going on about 100 billion dollars, if not more at this point, to have at least the following put in place by their government.
■ Electricity
■ Clean Water Supply
■ Sewage
■ Good durable Roads(roads built by the ancient Romans thousands of years ago are still very much available to this day)
■ Passenger Rail & Freight rail systems
■ Security
■ Reliable internet and mobile services
■ Waste Management
■ Strong healthcare system
■sturdy educational & training System
■a Welfare/Social system...

And 25 years later, Nigerians still have nothing of what is on that list above available to them. undecided

They lie with straight face and boldness as if there is nothing anyone can do about it . But it isn't their fault, they understand the mentality of the average Nigerian worker and voter and they know that 70% of those crying now will still troop out to their rallies and campaigns in 2027 and still vote for them once they are given 5000 naira plus rice and garri

↪Nnaa you seem to be reasoning like Tinubu (It must be a compliment to you, after all you are his loyal fan).
So you are insinuating that the police in Anambra was better trained than the police in Lagos, which was why Anambra was officially touted as the most secured state, when Tinubu and Fashola were the governors of Lagos state.
↪Security is a 360 degrees engagement. If a state is well governed, and the people well taken care of, by positive government policies, this tends to drastically reduce the propensity for crime and insecurity. You cannot expect that a government that encourages agberoism will ever have better security than a government led by a humble, but supremely capable Obi.
Anambra was not the most secured state in Nigeria when Ngige was the governor. This title only came about, during Obi's tenure. This says a lot about Obi's leadership.
1. You are the one here who reasons like Tambolo. We all know that when you go from State to state even today police effectiveness is not the same, not necessarily. This has little to nothing to do with state government effectiveness or lack but more to do with the effectiveness of the commissioner and the commanders in particular locales within, say a particular local government. undecided

2. Please resist the urge to drone on meaninglessly abeg! undecided

3. Please stop throwing in these unsubstantiated claims abeg! There is no report available at the time that states that Anambra was indeed more secure than Lagos or any other state for that matter. undecided

By the way, the immunity clause only applies as far as the individual is in office. There is no reason why the people can not call for the impeachment of a governor of a president and then have him or her prosecuted for crimes committed against the people right after that. Look for instance at the earlier case against Alamiyeshega in Bayelsa case during the obasanjo administration.

↪That is not an actual judgement per se. The judge just interpreted a law written down in past times according to the electoral laws. The laws of the State are supposed to mirror the extant laws of the FG and the FCT. In effect the laws amended by the 26 member is in order if the 3 member are the illegals. By this interpretation and understanding the court judge who sacked the elected chairmen will be found wanting.
The judiciary and the NJC needs a thorough cleansing and clean up in the entire federation.
Just look at the quality of interpretations made by supposed Supreme Court justices. The entry quoted in the Consitution in Section 135(2 &3) specifically applies to the President specifically. What next? Should we go ahead and insist then that, in the same breath, every other power that applies to the President in the Constitution should also be equally extended to local government councilmen? What is this? undecided

State governors seizure of local government authorities powers and funds led to states having the state capital as only livable city. Imo state is typical example.
The seizure is a criminal offense. Skirting around this fact by tossing out the constitution is not the best approach to resolving an obvious problem of corruption in the system. During the last 25 years, each time the government resorted to using this approach in dealing with problems of corruption in the system, the result has almost always been a further crippling of the position of the electorates in their government. A better approach would be for the electorates to call for the impeachment of implicated governors followed by their prosecution. As it is, these governors are still looting the system without

↪The Justice, however, said that in respect of the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, there is template legislation by the National Assembly.
He said that by way of sections 108, 109, 110, and 113 of the Electoral Act (2022), the dissolution (tenure of area councils), the vacation of seats of members, removal of the chairman or vice chairman, recall, etc. were addressed. And elections to the area councils are promptly conducted or held by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
“It is, therefore, unfortunate that some states do not even bother about conducting elections into local government councils as required by the relevant laws of their Houses of Assembly.
“Under Section 135(3) of the Constitution, the tenure of four years for the president, provided for by Section 135(2) thereof, shall be extended for periods not exceeding a period of six months at any time by a resolution of the National Assembly if it is not practicable to hold elections.
“By the same token, by a law of a State House of Assembly, the tenure of local government councils can be legally extended for any reason, such as insecurity or war, if it becomes impracticable or impossible for elections into the local government councils to be conducted.

“The mandate given to an elected local government council is the mandate of the electorate of that local government area, and if the tenure is extended, it is the people’s mandate that is extended.
“If the tenure of a local government council is truncated, as it is the norm now, it is an illegal termination of the electorate’s mandate, and it is not to be encouraged but roundly condemned.
“By the doctrine of separation of powers, it is the constitutional duty or function of the Legislature to make laws, which include amendments and repeals, and the duty of the judiciary is to interpret the laws to achieve the intended purpose of the legislation,” he said
.
Ust imagine how the justices twist the law as they see fit. That Constitution has so far been made a joke of by the Supreme Court of the land. What other evidence does one need to realize that the courts are not on the side of the people of Nigeria but the whims of the politicians? undecided

A lot of you may wonder why there was no protest against Buhari who performed poorly. Well, it's quite simple, Buhari indeed borrowed money, he also paid subsidy, which means the federal government didn't have enough money as they themselves believed so. Buhari came up with NPower and paid over 1 million Nigerians spread all over all the states N30k (@ $1 = N460 ~ blackmarket) and all NPower recipients were youthr. This means that money was moving into the hands of a lot of people, thereby reducing hunger. So, nobody protested.
Now, coming to Tinubu,
1. He removed subsidies from petrol, electricity, etc.
2. He borrowed more money.
The two aboves mean that there's a lot of money in the hands of FG now than ever before. There's so much money that you can't imagine. In fact, Nigeria is not broke as Buhari's time. We're hearing about missing funds already from the oil sector. Now Tinubu's tenor is rich, very rich especially subsidy money but people are hungry because no program like NPower is easing lives
.
Ignorance is not bliss abeg! #EndSars happened during the Buhari Administration.
