gsparks01: I'll never forget the day one of their thugs wanted to drag me to that sura. He was saying if I don't cooperate he'll call towing van. I cooperated till we reached the turning to their office. I don't know what came over me but I just stepped on the gas and changed it for the guy. I told him that I've been speaking to him politely but he has refused to see reason. So now, by the time we get to my dad's place, he will explain himself. I guess that got the guy scared a bit so while I was driving, he pulled my handbrake, car came to a halt in the middle of the road. Unfortunately for me, earlier, while we were driving from where he picked me up to sura, the confused state I was caused me to hit one keke and my plate number fell, so I'd picked it up and placed it in my glove box. So this Sura thug opened the glove box, stole my plate number and ran away. I recorded everything only to find out later that the camera was focused on me alone and did not get the guy's face at all. That was how I escaped them that day. Oboy see film. What now happened to your plate number? |

All this challenges is as a result of Covid19, I am trying to pass message to you being a veteran in business but you re hating on the messager instead of the message. Since I stopped using dashboard earning to measure my performance few years back, I have achieved some success in the business. You have to look beyond dashboard bro. The Business is more than dashboard earnings. Honestly I don’t get your argument. How would any sensible driver think dashboard earnings is all his/her money. Of course you have to remove operating cost and the arrive at actual or net earnings. |

I can't boost of 30k in my bank account from this 2months earnings. 20% commission, outstanding debt, Cash Discount, low fares, buying of Fuel, Car repair and maintenance took 80% of the so called earnings. What baffles me most is that you see Big figures on Dashboard, but in reality you actually earn little money. You will be making a big mistake if you judge your performance with dashboard earning. Bruh whatever you do with your net earnings is nobody’s business. If not for bolt, would you have been able to pay outstanding debt and repair car etc? I hope you will show us the dash again tomoro? First of all, you don’t have any business with what my net is. You can use the ongoing commission rate to calculate it. I only answered a question with proof. Did you see where i said ‘managed?’ Which goes to show that it is not a regular occurrence; heck I’ve not been driving regularly. If you think I put that dashboard there to showoff, well you might be correct but that would solely remain your opinion and any other person’s that thinks along the same line. This happened last year.
I got a trip around agungi by 10:30pm. I was around ilefo link road around agungi. Destination Christ Ave. Called rider.
Me- Hello good evening I’m at ilefo link road Rider- Okay come to rockaid pharmacy Me- Okay Looked at the PU, it’s just about 100m from where i parked.
Drove there called rider.
Me- Hey I’m here Rider- Where? I can’t see you Me- I’m parked right at the front of rockaid Rider- Oga I said you’re not here abi are you deaf Me- Can you describe the place where you are? Rider- Oga can’t you follow your map or are you blind Me- Haba I am staring at one rockaid here or is there another? Rider- Oga don’t ask me questions, ask people there. please hurry up abeg you’re wasting my time. Me- Okay.
Asked around and got to know there is another rockaid pharmacy at the corner to the left from the roundabout.
Got there, called rider.
Me- I’m here o. Rider- Okay I’m coming
Waited for another 5 minutes because the rider was not done. Eventually she came out and entered the car. One look from me and she greeted good evening. I responded and we proceeded on the trip. When we got to the traffic light at circle mall, a call came, apparently it was her boyfriend and she discharged him that I’m sure you are as tired as I am boo. Just go have your bath, we’ll talk when you’re rested. Werey girl now called the guy she was going to meet to try to wait for her somewhere close to the street we were heading to. After about 2 mins, I calmly said, so your name is efe right?
Rider- yes what happen Me- so you’re a warri girl ba Rider- Yes Me- I know. I know that’s how rude you girls talk and behave. I have lived in warri and I’ve come across a lot of your type. Rider- Oga I’m sorry

By this time she was already getting scared and begging profusely.
Entered freedom way and stepped on the gas.
Me- No o no problem it’s fine na just one small black something I wan show you next time you go behave. No beg me again sheybi you don do your own. Rider- Hey God o abeg oga I take God beg you nor mind me *talking to herself* efe I don tell you say you go put yourself for trouble with this mouth one day.
i just dey laugh uncontrollably for my mind. Entered admiralty road and was driving real fast while laughing. In a fleeting second I passed christ avenue and when I realized I braked real hard.
Na so the girl kneel down inside motor start to dey beg with one hand to open the door.
Me- if I mess you up here now, wetin them go say happen? Rider- oga I take God beg you na my period cause am abeg na only daughter I be.
Coincidentally, the guy she was going to meet was waiting about 20m from where we parked. He then called and she picked and the whole is that you bla bla ensued.
Mhen the girl was so happy na so she drop 2k jump comot from motor run go meet the guy. I just laughed and drove off. |

Felicity0001: Guy some riders are a disguise in their approach on phone why some are not.
Why are snakes regarded as one of the most dangerous animals on earrh? A cobra can hide in the sand just attack, how about a green snake? So drop it!.
2days ago a lady with calm gentle voice and with good manners kept me waiting for over 15mintues that was after several calls I'd put through to get the right PU address and even pee after arriving, came back to thw car call again. After about almost 20min of waiting I'd had to cancel after driving out. It took her another 10min before calling asking me where I was, still in her gentle and calm voice on the phone.
So guy hash all those preaches, you probably didnt meet the ugly once or maybe the good hadn't gone bad during the time you rode; I encourage you to do a 1 week test one of these days then come back and tell us how far. I had a rider like that yesterday. After waiting for more than 15mins, she came and said she wanted to pick up something from the boutique just in front of us. I was looking at her plainly without emotions. I took out my phone and checked the riders app, to get another driver in that location would take another 15-20 mins as drivers were not around the area. I smiled. I looked at the boutique and saw them removing clothes from the mannequin for her to still check out all these was going to another 5-10 mins of waiting. She later came out and was trying to open the door which I already central locked. Me- yes hello can I help you? Rider- oga open your door, I’m late for this trip abeg let’s hurry it’s getting dark. I just shook my head and jejely canceled the ride because Lord knows that I will most definitely fling her out of my car when we get to 3mb. I would have wanted to make the ride hellish for her for being insensitive but alas I just shook my head and said this one is not worth the stress. I only stress when you threaten my life/property anything aside that abeg carry your wahala dey go. |

ndubuis: Bro, it has nothing to do with ego. No one with ego does this business in the first place, let alone doing over 1500 trips. I have met the good, the bad and the ugly. At the end of the day, we are all humans and can't keep eating shit because of money or to avoid being judged.
We also have a duty to change our community the best way we can. Sometimes, force may be the only option left. If we just sit there and keep watching our fellow humans behave like animals and mistreat us, then our reason for existence becomes irrelevant by our inaction.
It doesn't make sense to keep serving a community that abuses you. You have to make an effort to keep it in check, the smallest of effort may go a long way. Using a whip on an adult may not be the best, it's on the extreme, but don't sit there and watch yourself being bashed just because you only have money on your mind.
As for pepper spray, it's my first line of defense and everyone should have it. You just have to know where and when to use it. If you arrest me unjustly and I see that my path is clear, I'll pepper spray you, push you out of my car and make a run for it. Lagos is not where you allow every Tom, Dick and Harry to ram you up and down. You’re supposed to be intelligent or street smart. When you call a rider, can’t you guess from their tone how their attitude might be? Yet sometimes after the perceived notion that this might be trouble, you accept the trip and come here later to lament how the rider maltreated and abused you. What were you expecting? You can’t keep eating shit, simply quit and never get to deal with any ill-mannered rider. You want to use force to treat your fellow man or else your existence becomes irrelevant lol Take deep breaths with your diaphragm bro. It’s really good for the mind and body. Cheers |

Felicity0001: I actually thought I've seen it all only for me to experience the height of them all just few minutes back.
After buying and changing two tyers at ladipo, I got this request going to ketu.
I put a call through immidiately I entered the PU area. Rider said he was off the street but walking down to my location so I should drive down to No8 on thw street. Made a turn and parked in a safe place waiting. After like 2min rider was no where to be found, I called again but this time he said I'd past him so I should come back a little, I was like but you said you're already coming why not just walk down and meet me up because this street is so narrow with double parking on it but rider said he was carrying a pot of soup along. Me: a pot of soup?!! Sorry I'm not going. R: ok, cancel. I cancelled with the option of I don't wish to serve this rider. Immediately after his request came in again, I've to accept with the vail of wait for 5min before cancelling but he cancelled. This happened like twice. The 3rd one I did likewise and while waiting for the 5min to cancel I saw a littlw boy within the age of 16-18 years.
R: with a rude voice, why do you keep accepting my request when you already said you're not going, can you cancel the trip. Me: still trying to think of what to saynto the little boy due to its smallishness and rudeness and I that could entered my mind to tell h8m while he was still ranting at yhe top of his voice was "I'll cancel when I'm ok to do". It was like that was a bomb on his ears R: are you fucking kidding me I said cancel.... He was still shouting and insulting. I just looked at him and then started my car engine turned on the AC and rolled up.
This time it was like I fueled the whole thing. Boy started to hit my side glass, like he knew it will break he then started to hit the door and aide mirrow to an extend that the croom guilding the glass pulled of... At this time people around that knows him started coming n calling him.
One Bros he explained to walked to me to ask what happened but I just kept quiet didn't say a word for like 5min.
To cut it shot, everybody on the street gathered begging me and almost beat him up na me com dey beg for am las las.
One elderly Bros said, baba any action I want to take I should let them know they will support me.
I then said, "the society we live produce the kind of people in it, if an arm rubber comes out of the society part from it being a personal choice it's also a function of the society because some persons in the society support and encouraged that child when he started stealing before growing up to became an highway rubber, in a nut shell, you all didn't support him so that's enough".
I arranged the little damage he caused, thanked all of them while they all both old, age mate and young thanked me, entered my car, took a deep breath, drank the remaining bottle water left in my water bottle and off I went. Why didn’t you just go offline so the young man could book another driver? Assuming you were in the midst of the wrong set of people (his guys), what would be the story? Them go arrest them surely, but how you go be after the assault? You know what? I’m sorry. Flog any rider that errs. Discipline their soul join. |

ndubuis: Looks like Uber have forgotten their rules. Just rated this fool 1star on Uber after I rejected her request for me to wait for her and take her back. A very rude bastard. Already on the express, another request came my way, didn't think twice about picking it, I was shocked it was the same girl I just dropped off. I didn't want to cancel because I have not been driving for some time, asked her to cancel and was met with serious insults plus death threats. Drove back to where I dropped her, thinking I'd still meet her there but she was no where to be found.
I go dey carry koboko for my car from this day forward. Koboko to flog stupid riders. Pepper spray for touts and Lastma. I really do not care if I get removed from the app. If you do any how because you are going to pay me peanut, you will be met with serious fire and fury. Fxxk that crazy talk about rider being king. That’s EGO right there speaking. Now I’m not advocating for bad riders or something but sometimes you all just have to act like STONE. See nothing, hear nothing, absorb nothing. You wan whip person lol you never jam craze be that. Guy just take deep breaths and you’d be fine. You don breathe finish? Now carefully think about this....’if I get yanked off the app, who loses?’, ‘If I pepper spray touts/lastma and them catch me, who go lose?’ Be easy bro, focus on the mulla and ignore the uncouth sons/daughters of bitche.s. My advice: When leaving the house, drop your your ego, sentiment(s), religious belief, political view and just be a STONE. |

Felicity0001: How about with drivers?
You seems to be placing all the values on riders without even thinking about the value of drivers. Does it mean to you that the provider of services dont have a value to the services they're providing? If they don't why then do you think riders are after getting services drivers provide even with the surge.
Change this thinking of your and begin to c things differently.
In other sense you're in support of all the ills riders perpetrate daily. You see, you have to change your perspective. You have to stop being emotional in business. Ask yourself why bolt or uber don’t yank low rated riders off the platform. It’s not about them not caring about us (well not entirely), it’s about the money bro. They have come to realize that they’d be the ones to lose if they keep yanking riders off. The competition is stiff and they can’t be forming now because all it takes for a rider is to just register a new account. Ask yourself this question again...why does bolt pardon me and allow me on their app even when my ratings dropped beyond their acceptable ratings? Yea, you got that right, to keep the money coming. They control the system here that enables you network and make money at your ‘free’ time. They can’t run out of drivers as long as they have riders (bolt comes to mind). The value you speak of can and is being delivered by a million and one people so brotherly the power has shifted from your hand. In fact the highest thing a driver can do is ‘I’m not going on this trip’, and the riders will get another that will go. The drivers are independent individuals that hold no commitment towards one particular company. They move to where is convenient for them so why should the app companies care that much when drivers don’t really care about them? Do you now see why riders are very important? They are the market and we all are just traders in the market trading skill for money. |

davit: I hope you know that they may end up giving you low rating? They determine what rate you get. And some that you are even nice to might end up giving you low rating. That s how the system is structured. That is why they are the boss. He who pays the piper calls the tune. For without riders (consumers), there would be no drivers. |

Felicity0001: Doesn't the same programm also meant to curb out driver with rating below 4.3 or there about?
Isn't the same program written so as drivers activity scores isn't affect thereby getting axed or penalize due to high cancellation rate provided the all protocols before cancellations are observed?
The other someone posted a screenshot of a rider with 1star rating. You now begin to ask yourself how come the program has such people and are still active making request in the system.
So, Brother man corruption, greed and indiscipline are the reasons for all of these. Even you're not ledt out because if we are to investigate or you're to be honest you'll know off trip was the reason for that high cancellation rate.
Anyways, man must survive but for the sake of next time learn to be more smart. I hope they unblock you soon so you don't loose your source of livelihood. It is simple, the riders are the ones with the CASH. |
