MrHeff:
Hello everyone. Maximum greetings and respect to all the riders here. You are all doing a great job.

I am thinking of going into uber on a hire purchase deal. I already have a sponsor, but it's my first time so I came here to ask a few questions. I hope you all will be kind enough to oblige me.

1. As a rider in Lagos, how much can I conveniently make daily? And also how much can I make if I decide to work extra hard? In other words, Average to maximum?

2. Will it be okay for me to use a 2007-2009 Corolla for it? Will it be good maintenance wise? Especially when I still need to remit to my sponsor weekly? Or should I stick to the usual 2004 corolla?

3. How much should I plan on remitting weekly to my sponsor? An amount where I can conveniently pay promptly without issues, and still make something for myself would be most appreciated.

Also, further tips on what to do and expect would be most appreciated. Thank you all in advance. Great job guys
1. As a beginner, expect to average 5-10k for the first two weeks, then as you progress, you’ll learn and come up with strategies to boost your earnings. These days, it’s not about working hard, using your head is a better option.

2. Any option you eventually choose is good although the 09 won’t be bad but I can’t say the same to your finances lol. The corolla is a durable vehicle. If it’s a foreign used car, please stick to manufacturer’s recommended engine oil and service promptly.

3. As a total jew, you need to dialogue with your intended partner to allow for some laxity in payment for at least 2 weeks(if you a fast learner) then from there you guys can agree on a fixed amount (industry price is 20-30k weekly)

4. You also need to be sharp and calm. Try as much as possible not to loose your guard when driving or parked waiting for trips.

5. You will learn other things as you progress in the hustle.

In doubt, do not act (say what you are not sure of).

The last time I drove on bolt was December, 2019.

I just checked my bolt app and it's giving me the 20 trips bonus. There's no reactivation bonus anywhere and it's more than 6 months.

I understand the need for some people to talk down on others just to console themselves and bring someone to their level, but try to be sure before accusing another.
No one is talking down on anyone. What you posted there is weekly bonus not weekend bonus.

What you have there is a reduced commission but the weekend bonus is a special friday to sat task to win 3k 4k 6k

Please for the fact someone is driving does not make him or her a poor or broke man. I am not trying to boast but bros, I have money. I mean serious one. I was in the East for 6 months. I was not idle abeg. Driving is just what I chose to do because its fun for me and it gives me that opportunity to feel I struggle to make money. Take it or leave it.
Lol guy you’re an active driver. I dare you to post your dashboard. No be only 12 trips in surulere, na 100 trips in akowonjo.

You went to the east for 6 months and made a fortune yada yada yada

Nice comic relief though. Nice diversion to @radautoworks and @gazzuzz

What am about to write is just to motivate drivers who are dulling to grind harder.

Honestly, I still cant believe someone was given a car at 10k and he still had the temerity to shalaye.

I want to tell you guys what happened to me this past two days and how I made much money with Bolt alone. I don't want to say the amount. Mind you I just came back to Lagos on Friday. After driving for 8 hours non stop. I know a lot of you will say its a lie but I don't have anything to proove to anybody. I would have uploaded screenshots but I have a principle. I chopped both the 4k bonus and the 2.8k bonus. Thats 6,800 I did not work for. Its just a bonus. I find it funny that the luxurydriver guy couldn't even get it because of ordinary one trip? Can you imagine? Are you a learner? Some of you dull oo.

Again, If not the fact that am aware Bolt and Uber agents monitor this thread, I would have uploaded screenshots. But then, it will be easy to nab me.  grin grin grin I refuse to shalaye like Felix and leak trade secrets.

The funny part is that I just came back to Lagos last week Friday like I said. I drove for 8 hours all the way from Owerri. But that did not deter me to work the next day Saturday. Immediately I came back that Friday, I started my bolt app and saw weekend bonus of 4k. To get it, I had to accept 95% trips, Complete 75% of accepted trips, be online for 15 hours and complete 20 trips in all. Lol.

Na today? We have been in this game for long and we know all the tricks. By the time I woke up around 8am the next day, I was already online working for 12 hours  grin cheesy grin. Remaining 3 hours. Don't ask me how I did it. Its a miracle working God. cool cool cool

I set my destination to Surulere. The king of short trip area. Within 3 hours, I have already done 8 short trips within surulere. I set destination to Lekki. Another king of short trips. Within another 2 hours, I have done over 10 trips in Lekki alone. Please nobody should ask me how I get short trips. Its a trade secret and I know how I get it. Think whatever you want to think and infer whatever you want to infer... You may be wrong. How I do mine may be totally different from yours.
Bros you too dey lie! Kai! If you’ve not driven for over 6 months like you claim, bolt will not ask you to do 20 trips fri/sat. What you will get is reactivation bonus.

Even gentlelife that doesn’t drive that much but still drives is asked to complete 17 trips. How your own come take pass person wey still dey drive at least?

Jp calm down with your attack on persons that did you no wrong. You’ve always been against drivers on this forum for reasons best known to you but you should learn to behave properly always bro.

As for the case, Vision2045 it is imperative you put up proof so as to clear your name. Even though you might feel like you owe no one an explanation but it’s necessary when faced with such accusations to tender your proof because you see this life, e no balance! You might need people on here later on in life and if this is not cleared, it would always be a reference for them.

You did wrong if you really did those payouts to bet9ja; it simply means your baby’s case is not that serious so you can divert funds and make a little profit. I didn't send anything but I’d be more than willing to send some if only you prove that we are not funding something else.

I admire you calmness btw, but it’s taking quite long to clear your name. A lot more irregular commenters are here commenting and chooking mouth bro; na so things dey take spread. Be a man and clear your name. Good or Bad.

The part that got me is the designated park for e-hailing drivers... as per danfo abi?
What is now the point of it being e-hailing...
Lagos just want to distabilize the market before introducing theirs...

Time will tell.
Lol how many people can afford brand new cars in lagos? How can they say cars not less than 3 years old should be used on ehailing with the terrible road?

Lol they are just kidding.....wait abi uber don hear of this thing wey make them hasten MOOVE to come through with their cars?

10 WAYS POLYTRON IS CUTTING EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE COSTS AND IMPROVING PERFORMANCE

Polytron products are different from any other lubricant or additive, using proprietary metallurgical technology to smooth and harden mating surfaces at microscopic levels to reduce friction and wear by up to 95%.

From industrial machinery to fleet cars, adding Polytron to motor oil or lubricant dramatically improves performance and extends equipment life while slashing fuel, oil and maintenance costs.

Here’s how Polytron does it.
1. Eliminates 95% of Engine and Equipment Wear, Extends Life by 400% To 700%

Polytron’s field-tested technology eliminates the microscopic irregularities which create friction between moving surfaces. By hardening and smoothing mating surfaces, Polytron practically eliminates friction and wear, extending engine life.

2. Keeps Moving Parts Clean of Varnish and Carbon Deposits

Carbon and varnish buildup on valves, pistons and other surfaces is virtually eliminated, slashing maintenance costs and eliminating unexpected downtime due to clogged fuel injectors or sub-optimal engine performance. Fuel system life can be extended by 200%.

3. Extends Oil Service Life and Oil Change Intervals by 300% To 600%

Polytron’s extreme friction reduction technology keeps internal engine parts clean and intact, which reduces the metal particles in motor oil, extending oil life. Longer oil service life means less frequent oil changes, which means you are ordering less oil and spending less staff time on maintenance.

4. Provides Temporary Protection in the Event of Oil or Coolant Loss

By smoothing and hardening mating surfaces to eliminate friction, engines continue to function normally following catastrophic oil or coolant loss, allowing time to self-transport to repair facilities, preventing expensive damage (often leading to equipment replacement) and extended downtime.

5. Lowers Operating Temperature and Fuel Consumption

Carbon buildup affects operating temperature and reduces fuel economy. Polytron keeps engines free of buildup and reduces operating temperatures, cutting fuel costs and helping avoid heat-related damage and breakdowns.

6. Lowers Equipment Maintenance Costs up To 65%

By reducing the need for oil changes, reducing carbon buildup, lowering operating temperatures, eliminating wear and guarding against damage due to oil or coolant loss, Polytron can cut overall maintenance costs by as much as 65%.

7. Makes Combustion Cleaner and More Efficient

Less friction and wear, cooler operating temperatures and no carbon buildup mean efficient combustion and much cleaner emissions. This could mean passing a smog test easier or gaining a competitive advantage if you run a large operation!

8. Maintains High Performance in Severe Conditions of Dust, Dirt, Moisture

By hardening and smoothing mating surfaces at the microscopic level and practically eliminating all friction, Polytron increases efficiency even in enabling the most severe operating environments. This makes Polytron the perfect solution for military equipment, mining equipment and other equipment operating in extreme conditions.

9. Effective in Transmissions, Differentials, Power Steering and More

Polytron can cut costs and improve performance in any equipment requiring lubrication of mating surfaces.

10. Cuts Operating Costs for Fleet Cars, Light and Heavy-Duty Trucks, Marine Vessels, Mining Equipment, Farm Machinery and More

With its ability to improve efficiency through reduced friction and wear, extend oil life, improve fuel economy, reduce maintenance, reduce operating temperatures, produce cleaner emissions, and improve operability in severe environments, you can apply Polytron in virtually any setting and with any equipment.

Certified field studies and signed references continue to pour in to Polytron from around the world verifying the revolutionary performance and dramatic cost reductions we deliver in a wide range of industries.

Appreciation post

Guys kindly help say a word of prayer to my Madam....

She is a very private person, she is on Nairaland and I believe she might be following this group because she picked my number from here when I was looking for HP

My baby boy (11month old) was very ill, started since Friday but got worse over night...we took him to the hospital and after some test and diagnosis..I was asked to make a payment of 150k..... I was down and swept every where and was able to raise 50k plus..after several calls to some friends and close family that I can approach...the outcome was still negative...so summoned my mind to call my partner for a loan of 100k to be paid in installment with my weekly remittance. Lo and behold my people my madam and hubby rather gifted me 50k...

Words can't express how grateful I felt....

I quickly deposited 100k to balance up before my boy is discharged ....

Hitting the road to keep the hustle going

Mrs B God will surprise you and your family with blessings and favour now and forever.
There are many good souls here on this thread but experience have made them nonchalant. God bless your boss and continue to prosper them. Givers never lack!

Pilots, pls help me reason this before desperation ends me below 6ft.

Got a deal from this same NL from a gentleman.

He has Big daddy Tokunbo to give out on HP, he requires initial deposit of 100k but i pleaded all i can raise is 30k which he's putting into consideration as i speak.

Total package on the car is 3m which I'm to be paying 30k weekly for a consecutive period of 100weeks, tho, i personally know the amount is much on the car but due to my desperation, I'm considering diving into the deal as from my own view and i intend to have little savings for unforeseen repairs and maintenance while if possible, i pay more than the 30k weekly to speed up the deal.

Note, I'm single and don't have much responsibility on me.

Now i want to hear from you all, your opinion on the deal, does it worth the sacrifice?
Pls advise me in every angle.
Lol na naive post be this. With all the shouts going on here, you still have mind to want to collect a car for 3m in this lagos?

You think because you’re single, you’re free? By the time repairs start to dey hit you left right and center, nobody go tell you the depth of the pit wey you don enter.

The best option for you right now is rentals but please maintain and drive the car like it’s yours so both parties remain happy. And don’t ever, I repeat ever contemplate picking a car for above 2 million.

The question I usually ask people is this, how/what do you think the car would be like after flogging it nonstop for over two years with this low fare we have? And I’m very much sure you wont be able to afford the recommended oil change at 5k miles, so yea engine replacement comes to mind.

For your sanity, forget that project bro and look for rentals. Them no dey telli person.

The reason I’m emphasizing on the WE is because you really are not here for our interests but your EKOCAB thing. You sold us out niti. You could have come like a gentleman to explain everything about the ekocab initially instead you were shielding it and trying to form/argue that we get the appropriate licenses for our operations even though you know fully well how redundant those licenses are and that it is just pure extortion by the govt.

If you claim to be in solidarity with us, you’d have our best interests at heart and let us know of the new initiative even before all the vio harrassments.

Do you want to know how many drivers suffered? How many lost their source of livelihood? Well I’m not mad at you anymore now that I know your angle, you were just acting in your greater interest (Ekocab)

On this Bolt trying to lower fares further, maybe we should consider porting to EkoCab. I see potential in EkoCab for two key reasons:
1. It is State Government backed;
2. Sterling Bank is financing

Why don't we form a "body" or a "committee" to engage EkoCab as it plans to launch. I have inside information that they have an initial 100 tokunbo cars to give out on hire purchase to drivers. The cap is #2,000,000 and the interest is 17% per annum for 2 years. That means a #2,680,000 payment over 2 years - or approximately #26,800 per week. If you take a car that is worth #1,500,000; your total payment over 2 years will be #2,010,000 or #20,100 per week. And the whole remittance thing is flexible.

I understand good cars can be registered on the platform too.

EkoCab has the potential to knock both Uber and Bolt out of the Lagos market. Maybe it's time we all key in.

Lastly, e-hailing should always be seen as a side hustle. There are other legit hustles that pay off well. For example, I know someone who brings in Palm Oil into Lagos from Benin. Another packages and sells yam flour on Jumia. Yet another brings in kilishi from Abuja. They all make good money.

My 2 Kobo.
wait wait wait who’s the ‘we’ you talking about? Are you now driving? But you said you’re a COO and a book writer! You don add uber join? Abi na uber all along but you sey fantasize about being a coo grin

Now seriously I can see where our last argument about the necessary docs/license/govt sanctions/vio harrassment came about. You nothing but a gademn spy nigga. So you’re part of the stakeholders abi errand boy having this ‘inside information’ ba.

When e wan favour am, he switch to ‘we’. Before you were on about us having another hustle like writing books and what not but now you don join us dey form ‘we’, marketing and telling us all about your ekocab. Nigga stand one place and stop confusing thunder abeg.

True because with bolt your set destination expires the moment the trip ends but with Uber it continues till your must have arrived at your destination.

Talking about set destination.

I'm presently in VI with a rider with 3.0rating, I brought him here from Allen, Ikeja and he wants me to wait for about 2hrs and take him back because I made the ETA 15min earlier of whi I he was already late for a meeting.

Now, would I just wait for this man for 2hrs doing nothing? I suggested I hang around but he said he would pay me 1k per hr for waiting. So right now I'm kinda confused because
1. I've not collected miney for the trip yet
2. I've not made any reasonable amount of money since 7am that I left the house, just 3k since morning.
3. There's surge presently.

So I'm thinking if I set destination around this LGA if it will make sense I work b4 he's done.

Suggest guys.

Arowojobe Street is a good trip for set destination to Ikeja, had you said you declined the ride because of traffic it would have been well excused but to say the algorithm is not precise is wrong.

What's the proximity of oshodi and Ikeja?

What would you say about Uber set destination algorithm then?

To me Bolt has the best and most precise algorithm when it comes to set destination other ask Uber and im sure they'll send you to Akaka or ajah whereas your present location is lekki 1.
Bolt is better than uber in the sense that it tries to match you with trips not too far from your destination.

I have gotten rides to VI from lekki on set destination to ikeja, Rides from ogba to gbagada on set destination to lekki, Vi to somolu on set destination to ikeja etc.

They not precise, but better than uber that takes you round. Although uber’s destination is more profitable if you are not pressed for time.

One certain time I set destination to ikeja and got a trip matched to my destination. Na so I hurry without even asking rider any question. Got there, picked rider and his two friends, started trip and saw arowojobe street.

Me: sorry please where’s this?

Rider: mafoluku, oshodi. That ladipo side.

Me: ah sorry bro I set destination to ikeja and this is off my route.

Rider: why don’t you want to go to oshodi

Me: bro it’s evening and there’s a lot of traffic getting to ikeja from oshodi (egbeda, abulegba and iyana ipaja people)
