dijon: Chief, i guess its because Sanusi missed two sitters that day. While, to me i think he did very well, not forgetting his primary job on the field which i believe he performed very well. Lets take into consideration the length of the field he ran to make himself available for those missed goals and we appreciate the effort he put in for the team to succeed. I think the only replacement due to injury should be Yussuf. The two chances are too elementary just like Osimhen one on one chance but good we didn't lose the match if we lost then we will know how importantly those chances are to our progression in the group. I watched the recap of the match and I want to tell you that Sanusi,Simon and Onyeka didn't have good match and only plus for Osimhen was the goal he scored. |

Joebie: Based on EPL performance?
For me Bassey has always played better in SE colors when fielded as a LB. So maybe the right partner in CB is the missing link. Do we need to find right partner for him to perform? He has not brings EPL performance to super eagles either as CB or LB but I will pick him ahead of Sanusi that I watched against EG. |

After the Guinea defeat and with Sadiq complaining of a minor knee pain, Paserio was like opeoo (thank God oo), Dr. ..... Abeg do something, I no want this man before. Na tall Onuachu I want for headers!

BascoVanVeli: Sanusi was definitely not bad yesterday. Missing those chances can't take away from the fact that he got into dangerous positions. If he keeps playing like he did yesterday we will be a very dangerous side. Well let's see him again against CIV |

ThunderFireAgba: We're all here praising Al-hassan, nobody is talking about the delayed pass he failed to give Iwobi to sloth on time before the EQG play took the ball off his feet in the 18yrd box. He caused us one or two chances; the first he played a direct ball to the keeper, the 2nd he refused to release the ball on time to Iwobi. He should be smarter cos the game against CIV will be decided in the midfield against who has the best defense and the best keeper. Expect lots of shots at goal and build up from the middle. After Iheancho, Iwobi is the next clinical player in the SE. He should be played up front close to the attackers not as a deep lying midfielder( that job should be left for onyeka) Iwobi never loses such opportunities in the final third. Remember the AFCON game 2019 with Cameroun and his connection with Ighalo that earned us a spectacular goal. Alhassan overall performance was solid for a cap player, against Ivory Coast,Osimhen should just do the needful cuz he needs to convert those chances. |

Pgltm: Hopefully against Ivory coast Osimhen gets those chances behind the defence and puts one or two away. I would love to see Bassey bench Sanusi and chukweze starting ahead of Moses Simon.. Peseiro should just start Osayi on the right and Aina on the left or Start Aina on the right and Bruno on the left,Sanusi yes a Porto player but lacks the modern day left back style, too rigid....pls is there any difference between Chukwueze and Simon. |

chrisooblog: Watching Nwabili yesterday almost made me swear for whoever made us put up with Uzoho for years.
Sey na composure, confident handling, dangerous long balls or anticipation? His shot stopping I'm sure will be above average. Could be maning the sticks for a while if he stays consistent. It's simple to know a good keeper and Nwabali in goalpost showed that he is better than Uzoho but I want to tell you that Christian Nwoke would have been number one in this Afcon if given chance.I rate him than Nwabali but good to have Nwabali. |

ThunderFireAgba: If you watch the recap of that match with less tension, you'll understand we have the most useless left back in this tournament, both the one that played through the game and the subie who came in for him. People who saying Iwobi was missing in the game should re-think; he made crucial passes but our forwards couldn't utilized those opportunities on counters. So far(with the matches already played) the SE has the best defense splitting, attack minded players. Equatorial Guinea were lucky to have escaped the defeat. Kudos to our wasteful strikers. Iwobi, Lookman, Alhassan, Aina were our outstanding players. I watched the recap and impressed with Alhassan who reminded me of Onazi,Ola Aina had a good game with three crosses to Osimhen,Lookman for the first time played his heart out and his assist was well taken,Iwobi was cool.....Ekong and Ajayi need to raise their game though EQG had just a shot at goal....Sanusi was awful,Onyeka was either here or there.....Osimhen was wasteful....Simon need to rest...Nwabali was well composed. |

chrisooblog: Yekini baba himself it took time before he found his rhythm many years of below average performances in the national team before he hit his peak. Please criticize and push Osimhen to be better but easy on the demoralizing comments. Yes you are right about Yekini. He was in Afcon 84 in Ivory Coast but we have Chibuzor Ehielegbu as the main man.Yekini didn't have a goal in Afcon 84 but from 1988 to 1994 Afcon he rose as one of the best strikers in Africa. Osimhen is young and still has a long way to go but today's match is a reflection that he need to do more. |

Yes Osimhen is our talisman and he can do better than what he displayed today. He is a man I respect cuz after the final whistle he was not happy with himself especially that one on one chance. |

komekn: I disagree 😞
Finidi coached for several years at Real Betis probably has all his coaching badges and is more qualified.
Finally, not one question about his integrity. He is a gentleman, intelligent and is seeking for the best not his pockets.
Finidi is the best candidate by a mile. Senegal,Morocco,Ghana and Cameroon came to last WC with locals but here we keep on doubting someone like Finidi. |

ThunderFireAgba: Nigeria is winning this game by 2, 3-4 goals. If Equatorial Guinea play ball, that's to say if dem play ball well, dem fit manage to score 1. Just imagine; how can you surpass a defensive block of 4 staunch highly built tall players in the name of Bassey, Ajayi, Ekong or Osayi? Couple with the pressures from fast attackers like Lookman, Eagle eye Iwobi or the Almighty himself? With wetin dey ground and all the preparation for these guys, believe me dem no fit fall hand. We should be worried what comes after the quarter-finals. Koko be say make we get our formation right, forget size o |

Even the GB way beat us for our backyard no play half of that yesterday. But wen dam see us dem go Turn lion. Likewise every other african teams.
If we had a good coach I bet CIV will be fortunate to get a draw next game. GB that beat us at home were not special. One thing about Africa football of today is that if you are a goal down against these minnows you are in trouble.....CIV did well by winning her first game, now left for us to do the needful against EQG.We must avoid conceding first. |

Iheanacho is not in contention for first match, his fitness will determine how far but Osimhen deserves better service. |
