daveP: To confirm your point,
Using Rudiger, Osimhen was more a threat vs Rudigher than Haaland was over two legs vs Madrid. He was a good distraction anyways. But Rudiger hearam. Inwas shocked with his display tonight vs Saliba. He looked really ordinary. Drought season or he's exposed. Osimhen is more of a threat to defenders than Haaland |

Mujtahida: And then rate Osimhen a goalscorer ahead of Kvara. That's the argument Kog45 is hung on.
One day this thread will move on from this ceaseless Nwakali debates In football we have stats sites like Fotmob,Sofascore and whoscored that gives credence to player rating, though to me not conclusively enough…When I said Hector was the best using his valued to the club as my point, comdo said NO citing stats sites and I moved on. In a court for instance,If I said Hector Hernandez was the best Chaves player but the opposite lawyer said NO using fotmob and sofascore to nail me and judge ruled that I have no case. A case comes up again on the same issue and I said Hector is the best as at today citing the same fotmob, sofascore as my references used in the first case by opposite Lawyer to win…..pls I want you to act as a Judge in this case. |

Hector wasn't even their best player last season as well. He was one of their best. Check your "facts" well abeg.
So based on your football knowledge of winning MOTM or even Player of the month, how come KDB once won the EPL Player of the season without a single Player of the month award in that season? Abeg rest. Pls better to call me out and I will say sorry for any mis information, sorry it was wiki references. Yes based on my knowledge and opinion Hector Hernandez is Chaves best player and I stand by it. |

komekn: How many goals has the best midfielder Nwakali in the Portuguese league scored and assists has he got ❓❔
It's not a debate Hector is thr most crucial player for the team, without him they are already relegated. Yes I know based on my football knowledge, having 3 MOTM,7 goals and assist so far showed how important he is to the team, even last season he had 14 goals. Chaves and fans rate him highly. |

TheSuperNerd: That is untrue. You are doing your best to miss the point and twist the narrative. In Osimhen's case, I compiled the stats of how many points his goals won Napoli time and again. I dropped them on this thread time and again but as usual, you didn't pay attention since you have eyes only for Awoniyi Stats.
Osimhen had more matchwinners than most. And he was clearly Napoli's best player with not just 26 goals and 24 big chances missed but also 34 key passes as a striker. Kvara has 54 key passes as Napoli's main creative force.
Also, Osimhen was Golden Boot Winner and he clearly was the heart and soul of that Napoli attack. WE ALL SAW THAT including YOU. So why make such unrelated analogy? Funny. Mind you I don’t even know much about Awoniyi stats details than sensational headlines like wise other players. What you guys brings here is what I rely on most but I needed to go deep on stats regarding Chaves cus it was your referenced in our last discourse My point here is this current season not last season If you believed Osimhen is the best and Hector is not the best in Chaves even go by last season then something is amiss. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Kog45(m): 12:16pm On Oct 08, 2023 |
TheSuperNerd: Kog45, check this out. Let me give you one of many stats perspectives.
Hector, a striker, has 7 goals in the league right. Plus he has missed 4 big chances.
Well Kelechi Nwakali, a midfielder, has created 16 chances in that team in just 8 games. That is more than the total number of goals scored and Big Chances missed by Hector.
Hector Goals+Big Chances missed = 11
Kelechi Chances Created/Key passes = 16
Now Hector has played 720 mins while Nwakali has played 550mins yet the above-stated is the case.
The right balance of eye test and stats interpretations paints you the correct picture not limited to just Goals/Assists. Sir with your point, meaning Osimhen is not Napoli best player. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Kog45(m): 11:32am On Oct 08, 2023 |
TheSuperNerd: Yes, I brought up from different sources to show you that you aren't being truthful.
A MF who hasn't scored was already bagging better ratings than a striker who had scored by then. That tells you everything.
And now the only reason Hector has a slightly better rating is due to his recent hattrick. Nwakali's ratings are still just as high.
Unbiasedly, having watched Chaves this season, it is clear that Nwakali has way more influence on their plays than Hector. Sir,by statistics by fotmob, sofascore or your general viewpoint. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Kog45(m): 11:30am On Oct 08, 2023 |
TheGoodJoe:
I have not watched lots of Napoli games to draw a conclusion who is the best.
However, when I talked on Chaves, I have watched the team. Playing as a striker and taking shots does not mean best.
Let us use Manchester City this season. I will point Rodri as our best player so far and then Julian Alvarez. This is purely based on eye test and how their contributions bring to an overall improvement of the team's performances.
Julian Alvarez drops deep, puts in tackles, makes interceptions, does tidy passwork, presses, gives assists etc. Has a strong claim for the best player so far.
While Rodri, defending work is super, makes tidy interceptions. He is the base of our offensive build up plays. He contributes a lot in getting the ball from the defensive section to the offensive section. His shooting contributions is also note.
So it is not just about playing a position but overall contribution.
Like in the last two games of Chaves, I rate Sanca as the best, due to his contribution. However, he needs to cut his selfishness because he leaves his team short when he is going for glory.
I have not seen Hector in that light for Chaves. Sir,my point if we go by stats then Osimhen is not Napoli best player which I will never agree to |

TheSuperNerd: "Irrespective of Stats" yet bringing up stats.
He is a striker. His job is to score. Nwakali set him up for one of those goals with a sweet cornerkick delivery. Another weapon we lack in the Super Eagles which is set piece utilisation.
Nwakali hasn't even bagged a goal in Portugal yet his stats ratings are as high as Hector whose ratings were boosted by his goals. That tells you the true picture. Nwakali is Chaves' Best player so far. Hector is just their goals getter and a good one too. At least, Nwakali now has a slightly better finisher in front of him and not the underpar strikers he had at Alcorcon, Huesca and Ponferradina. Last time we had this discussion, you brought up statistics from fotmob and sofascore. This made me to go through the same sites to have details analysis on Napoli players and saw that Osimhen was not even in top four when it’s glaring that Osimhen is the best in Napoli. I went through Chaves rating too, then I brought it up for more broadening and attention of thegoodjoe. Hector has won 3 MOTM this season and now a leading scorer.Yes with Nwakali two assists just like Abass two assists. Accordingly today’s rating from fotmob, sofascore and whoscored Hector is the best Chaves player which you cited to back up your fact on Nwakali last time My main point is that stats is not conclusive on player performances.

Joebie: He must have been substituted for tactical reasons. However, there were other substitutions. Unless you watched the match yiu can’t draw any conclusions as to what subs/tactics helped to earn them the 3 points. I think introduction of Abass changed the game cuz he gave Hector Hernandez more spaces to operate, with Pinho and Ribeiro covering the middle. |

NwaIdeato: Ifeanyi Matthew, Nwakali and Folorunsho are the remaining midfielders that will complete our midfield along with Iwobi, Ndidi, Fisayo, Onyeka/Onyedika
Aribo should be benched or dropped until he picks up form. Aribo for now has no business with eagles and if care is not taken am seeing another Keita who did nothing in Europe to make 2010 WC over Seyi Olofinjana, and what happened his unprofessional conduct ruined our chances. I think when player is off form he should be excused for performing player who does it week in week out. If I have my way I will invite either Nwakali or Ifeanyi Mathew not even Folorunsho Michael. |

TheGoodJoe: This is even a far below par level of Kelechi Nwakali. On his day, he is a joy to watch. His strength lies in his close control and ability to read spaces. His Between Line Passes are also top notch.
I hope the current manager is building the side to play more possessively because Kelechi Nwakali can pull over 80 touches per game with high passing accuracy. I watched the match and he did very well with assist but I need some broader analysis on stats which some always saying is not conclusive in rating players and to some that’s the yardstick. Remember I said Hector Hernandez was the best Chaves player which you disagreed.Doctor TheSuperNerd brought rating out which showed I was wronged based on stats but going through Chaves rating on whoscored I saw Baptista Santos (Jo) who had 87 mins played this season on 7th position, based on this are we rating Jo as the 7th best Chaves player this season despite not making the team? Sir,do you still rate Nwakali as the best Chaves player ahead of Hector Hernandez who is like what is Osimhen to Napoli in Chaves or is Osimhen not Napoli best player based on stats available on fotmob, sofascore and whoscored

AndSunGorilla: Seems Nwakali was subbed out in the 59th minute after his team just equalized, was he injured? Or did the coach feel he needed other players to see off the remaining 31 mins? After the substitution, his team.went on to win by 4-2, scoring two more goals after his exit. For me, being subbed off at 59 minutes as a midfielder doesn't speak well except he's injured ot the coach is trying to preserve him. He was replaced by Pinho, possibly due to tactical reasons and the team went ahead with two more goals despite played last minutes with ten men.Nwakali had an assist for Hector Hernandez who later got hatrick and based on 59 minutes on the field he had 7.4 rating |
