Do you really know Chineye Ogwumike.

Let me help you with pics cuz I realized some just come to nairaland on tribal agenda without even know who they are arguing about.

This is Chineye a great basketball player in her days and a respected sports personality in United States.

She is a real Igbo woman who has done a lot for herself and I want say Nigerians are proud of her cuz some of us followed her career passionately not minding where she came from in Nigeria

Wing play is very different from the auxiliary striker role.

The purpose of every wing play is to provide width, this is different from playing very close to the striker.
Providing the required width, and making the ball available to the striker or strikers require skill sets that the secondary striker doesn't even need to be effective.

Again the brain's awareness and interpretation of space and position for the winger role and for the secondary striker role are not the same, this means that transiting as a winger to a secondary striker and vice versa may not be as easy as it sounds, and may not be necessary. Players who made the transition from a winger to a secondary striker, may not have been proper wingers in the first place. Asking a player like Samuel Chukwueze to transit to a secondary striker looks funny.

Again wingers are saddled with additional defensive duties than secondary strikers, they are required to possess better ball playing abilities such as the abilities to build up and progress plays.

So i don't think it is necessary asking wingers like Chidera Ejuke or Moses Simon to adjust to playing very close to the striker, discover a winger and develop him along that line, the same goes for the secondary striker.
Sir,my point is simple, today’s wingers primary assignments are right, left and second striking roles, any winger limited in these functions will find it difficult making the team, possibly this is what is affecting Ejuke.

Sir,go and watch Segun Odegbami clips in the late 70s and early 80s and tell me functions of a winger, even as at then big Sege does it like a modern winger.

Try and watch Ahmed Musa against Argentina and Tijani Babangida against South Africa and define what is winger for me.

I thought Ejuke can do it as Number 10 Abi no be dis thread again….

Ejuke doesn't need to do anything with Antwerp to be seen as the player that he truly is.

Do you know who a winger truly is.
Do you really know Ademola Lookman insomuch that you list him as a winger.
Lookman has for most of his games played behind the striker.
Lookman is a fantastic player, and we are seeing the best of him, because he is made to play to his greatest strengths.

Samuel Chukwueze has grown in his understanding of wing play, and it is a good thing.
There was even a time i rated Moses Simon ahead of Samuel Chukwueze regarding wing play, but not anymore.
Today wingers are use as second striker, right winger and left winger depending on formations,so stop asking what is not relevant to discourse, imagine asking do I know what is winger.

If you rate a player,no issue but telling us he is better than those doing it week in week out in the same position Is not acceptable.

Funny,Ejuke doesn’t need to do anything with Antwerp to be seen as the player that he truly is,even Ejuke himself will not agree with you.

Fact and truth..,Simon,Chuckwueze,Lookman and Ejuke are wingers who must adapt to second striker, left and right wing roles if needs arises.

Our best wingers are:
Chidera Ejuke, Samuel Chukwueze, then Moses Simon,
and others.

These player can feed on scrapes, and still try to make things happen. You can rely on them for a certain level of balance. I have seen some improvements in the manner Chukwueze reads his game.

I am beginning to notice Nathan Tella, especially because of his move to Bayern Leverkusen. I pray he gets good game moments, so that i may discern the kind of player he is.
Sir Meli, just tell me how Ejuke is among the best wingers.I thought rating players should be based on club performances and their influences in national team.

As it stand today Lookman is the best Nigeria winger,14 league goals and his influenced in Atlanta last season stood out.

This season Lookman and Simon Moses are already showing us what we want, left for Chuckwueze to shake things up in seria A which I know will soon happen.

Ejuke is not even in the picture unless he does something remarkably with Antwerp.

Some of you are just here talking and it end here cuz you lacked substances on sensitive issues, always being carried away by emotional baggages to buttress your points.

Pls,a question, did Obama passed through similar accusations like Tinubu?yes or no…another question are there laws that protect educational privacy in United Stares law?yes or no.Tinubu lawyers are arguing the case on United States educational privacy law,now left for judges to determine or grant them their requests.

Pls enough of emotive and sentiment in analyzing issues that people can benefits from. The case is a national discourse for future political records and better to give accurate views cus your comment can even serves as good references for younger ones.

I watched arise tv and saw Oseni talking and I was like I thought this guy is intelligent but no he is not.Rufai Oseni doesn’t even understand what the case is all about but just talking and talking.I came to realize that some journalists are for APC,PDP and LP,all they do are biddings of these politicians, nothing more, reasons why we are in a messy political situation.

Good that Atiku is doing it in a civil way and left for Tinubu to prove him wrongly. In court you use all informations you have to win cases, not bullying or spewing unrelated things on social medial.

On Reno Omokri, well I always seeing him as one of the youths that failed us when it matter mostly.

I understand your point nevertheless Osimhen did not blew any clear cut chance. In fact he hardly get any and had to work really hard for one or two unlike his pairs at Barca, City, Bayern etc. The one he struck the post with was even a half chance yet he was able to hit the target. Also, the penalty was good, sent the keeper the wrong way but just unfortunate. He works too hard for a striker of his talent. He presses, runs, marks, defends yet he hardly gets clear cut chances. It can be frustrating!
Marjori,I noticed you do compares Osimhen with Barca,City,Bayern CFs in terms of chances created….are you saying Haaland,Lewandowski and Kane are not doing anything on the field.

The best chance to be given to a player is penalty but he lost it.Sincerely too early to say Osimhen is on goal drought. He need to calm down when things are not going his way.

Not too long ago performances in the Championship were considered to be poor quality for SE consideration. The name farmers, carpenters league etc, was used generously.

As soon as fans favourite Ndidi plays in the championship 🏆 the goal posts are moved. That's very normal here.

I do think Ndid is learning to play differently and developing a new more attack minded skill set , can he transfer that to the Premier League if they Leicester city, get promoted ❓

Sabotage his teeth 👊🏾
Wave him 500 from behind 💪🏾
Calculate his standard deviation 🤛🏾
Embezzle his forehead 👊🏾
Besiege his career 👊🏾

I guess Pastor Awoniyi opened the part of the Bible that said "the vawulent takes it by force 💪🏾"
Thank God the referee intervened in time 😁😪😤
I love Nigeria 🇳🇬💚😂😂
Awoniyi action, very unusual of him but when I remembered where Awoniyi grew up I was not surprised.

He grew up in Agbo Oba area Ilorin where gangsters and cultisms reigned then cuz the area housed Old University of Ilorin mini campus,IOT polytechnic campus, college of education Ilorin and he had his primary school and secondary school(Sheik Andulkadir secondary school)in the same area.

Next time he should take it easy to avoid unnecessary distractions and let referee take charge.
