TheGoodJoe: This is not about sentiments but selecting our best passers. Unless we don't want to use our best passers. Let our best passers play in midfield and we will keep the ball better and create chances better.
If our best passers are not in top leagues scout the lower leagues and play them.
We can go to lower leagues to get Keepers and full backs. However, to do that for midfield, it has become a taboo. Yes we went to lower league to get keeper and what happened after then, poor goalkeeping cost us afcon and World Cup cos on what criteria Okoye got his invitation?Sentiment....okay sir,how did you see Chiedebere Nwakili invitation by Rohr?sentiment or performance based? If you want to based it on performance then Nwakili getting eagles invitation is slim but on special recommendations I see it coming and he must grab the opportunity. |

Danielnino00: No, no... My response was in reference to you saying Nwakali needs to move to a better league to attract Peserio attention... Peseiro knows Omeruo is in the Segunda division..so he most definitely knows about Nwakali too . When Eguavon called up Nwakali for the AFCON,some people alleged that it was the NFF doings...yet,he hasn't been called up again...Olisa Ndah has also not been called up again.. Yes Dan my man,he need better platform to really get Peseiro attention, though not ruling him out on getting invited but it would be based on special recommendations ....Omeruo is more established eagles and new coach must be guided in his first assignment so whether Peseiro watch Segunda or not,Omeruo has that already established opportunity.....Nwakili and Ndah made afcon when nobody expected so it was purely based on recommendations not performance and my point is Nwakili will only make the team for now if someone can convince Peseiro that look you have Nwakili to solve your midfield problem. |

Danielnino00: But Omeruo is playing in the same league as Nwakali and he is even one of the captains in the national team... I'm sure Peserio knows of Nwakali presence in the Segunda division... It all depends on whether or not he thinks he needs him... Omeruo case is different, remember he won afcon 2013,two time World Cup appearance and with good caps for eagles...Nwakili situation is different from Omeruo. |

TheGoodJoe: What did Okoye and Jamilu Collins do to justify their inclusions?
This is not about proving himself but a fix to a challenging situation that has worried us for years.
Our midfield has been poor despite. So what do you propose that we should do to fix that gap. Yes sentiment and agent aid brought Okoye and Collins to eagles, also Chiedebere Nwakili got invitation based on sentiment but failed to measure up. Now I want the same sentiment for Kelechi Nwakili through Peseiro and he should grabbed the opportunity, remember he made last Afcon based on Emma Amuneke recommendation, not about his performance. But can we cannot continue given players special consideration they just have to earn it,so Nwakili need to move and moving to better league will stop all these arguments on his relevance in eagles set up. |

hatakekakashi: Our midfield situation is really worrisome, Iwobi and Onyedika are the only good and regular midfielders. Ndidi's out of form and a bench warmer, Aribo can't even make the match day squad of the worst team in EPL, I don't really know much about the others. Yes worrisome but how do we solve it?can Nwakili solve it,big question again. It is left for Peseiro to give us good team irrespective of players available.....Samson Siasia went to 2008 Olympics without Mikel and he did well. If Peseiro believes it’s Nwakili, why not but eagles problem is beyond midfield but lack of fighting characters, just check Osimehn zeal against Ghana. |

TheGoodJoe: Among the names listed, who are the best you will suggest to play as a conductor in a midfield passing side.
Unless you guys want us to neglect playing as a passing side, then we can move on without Kelechi Nwakali.
The point is how do we improve our midfield passing play. Oga my point is simple,it would take special mention of Nwakili to get attention of Peseiro based on what is available for him in top league...it’s not what Nwakili can offer is my major bone of contention but how he can get Peseiro attention....Nwakili in division one league in Europe with good performance would have been core member of Super eagles by now.He need to move to better league to justify is inclusion but if one way or the other he gets the opportunity now he must grab it. |

Danielnino00: .
When we were badly in need of a goalkeeper,Rohr went to the Spanish third division to fetch Uzoho...he also got Okoye from the German 4th division.. Jamilu Collins came to provide reinforcement at left back from the German second division too... Yes Rohr went to 4th and 3rd division but what is the state of our goalkeeping department today? We are over flagging Nwakili issue here....only Nwakili can prove himself not our talks and for now only a preference from Peseiro can give Nwakili invitation. Osimehn and Iheanacho case are quite different from Nwakili....Osimehn moves from Wolfsburg to lowly Belgium league and shake things up.Iheanacho is a top player who started with man city and still doing it with Leicester, given the opportunity he always delivers....Almost faded Isaac Success is doing it right now with Udinese...Awoniyi who a lot don’t rate is now in EPL but big question has Nwakili help himself career wise to justify his inclusion in national team?NO,so left for him to prove fans wrong. Despite Sadiq performance in Segunda,he got his chance in Afcon due to injury to Osimehn and ighalo but Eguavoen did well for Nwakili with wild card invitation, hopefully Peseiro can have the same sentiment and gives Nwakili a chance. Ndidi..EPL Iwobi...EPL Aribo...EPL Bonnke..Ligue 1 Onyedika...Belgium div 1 Alhassan...Belgium div 1 Etebo....Greek div 1 No coach would have these pool of midfielders and go to Segunda league and pick a player playing for Ponferaddina sitting in relegation zone, reasons I always saying the club is not a good platform for Nwakili to excel. |

forgiveness: The problem is most of them don't start early. So, they reduce their age in order to catch up.
When I took him there, the first thing they asked was his age and I told them the pure undiluted truth.
So, the onus is on the player to tell the truth. Coaches can't know.
After the second trail, the coach told me he can even play in the U17.
Age cheating is one of the reason foreign clubs hardly buy Nigeria players but thank God for VAR that has changed everything.
But some still dey cheat oooo. Yes you are right, starting early is the answer....a neighborhood friend Tolagbe Alanamu was in secondary school and got invitation to U17 camp of Japan 93 but was dropped for equally secondary school boy Celestine Babayaro....Tolagbe started very early cos his Dad was Team manager with then Kwara bomber. All we need is introducing our kids early to the game but I realized only in football we are having issues with age, sports like track and fields and basketball always catching them young. **Imagine that South Sudan goalkeeper is Under 20. |

I think we can draw parallels for Osimhen with the point Henry was making about Benzema and Kane how they get involved in attacking plays to assist their fellow forwards unlike Haaland who mostly stays central waiting for crosses or long balls. Haaland of Dortmund is different from Haaland of Man city, having player like Haaland you need him most in the central or around the box,he is purely playing to Guardiola instructions and Osimehn in man city will do the same based on the strength of man city players....Haaland and Osimehn are real traditional number nine that don’t need much of additional responsibilities to excel. |

I was playing fifa with one guy yesterday, I was just calling him boss boss, later I got to know he was my junior brothers class mates, I was shocked. He damn huge.
I mean, what is your gain by accusing him of age cheats. Was Rooney an age cheat with his bald head at 22 or robben?? I just tired for this age matter.I think time to respect our players age...We have important roles to play regarding age cheats.I remember forgiveness narrative on how he took his boy to trial of beyond limits academy. We just have to build our talented kids at very early stage and no matter what they will match up with their foreign counterparts........I have two sons that started playing the game very early and I can tell you they are damn good.My first son trial was massive, under 20 mins the coach came to me and said “you meant this boy has not been playing the game outside his neighborhood and I said yes” my second son trial went the same way.My boys were introduced to the game very early, watching live football games every weekends and it shows in their game. They play like real men and they are just 14 and 12 years of age....I think time to say NO TO AGE CHEAT IN SPORTS and anyone here can champion the cause with support from reputable organizations for funding...age cheat affect our football in the long run.We can do it like Europeans, nothing special except nutrition cos my 14 years old boy can play with U17 conveniently cos he has the height |

cc Andrew44, Charlesemeka, Goodjoe, Supernerd, Blueelf, Komekn, Kog45, Mujtahida, Danielnino00 Yes just watched your link.Cool analytics by Careagher and Henry Thiery with different views on Haaland....Carrragher believe Man city is not playing to his strength and Henry was of opinion that Haaland is not helping the team all round play but the big question is Haaland performing?YES,26 goals in 22 matches, then both Carragher and Henry are wrong in their analysis.....only Guardiola can tell us if he is satisfied or not and from all indications Haaland is a striker any teams will jump to have cus he is a scorer.....I don’t want to go into Osimehn comparison....Haaland is a traditional number nine and most coaches would want him around the box, possibly Guardiola just want him around the box cos he has enough players to do it for him and 26 goals in 22 matches, common man,Carrraghrr and Henry would failed as man city coach. |
