Mujtahida: Not necessarily his age but capabilities. He's slowing down
Yes true talk not Onazi of before and with new players emerging i don't see him and any underperforming old players surviving it.
Pls check it out Sadiq Umar,Osimhen, Awoniyi, Nwakilis,Ebere Eze,Chuckwuemeka,Alampasu, Maduka,Osigwe,Tosin Kehinde,.If possible Onomah,Lookman,Uduokhai, Akpoguma etc.
Post WC is interesting cos enough talents ready for the show.
Martz101: from the look of things Agu might be dropped for Joel and Rohr actually see some good in Joel obi and that's risky for Etebo or Ogu if simon is fit
#permutation
Yes permutation.Simon making it is dicey but let's wait and see what happens after England match.
eterisan: chief sorry if it comes across that way. Everything you have said now is exactly what I have been saying, but forgiveness and komekn chose to ignore. I have already said ajagun deserves to be called up and I have apologized for calling him old and washed up
Post Russia we may see Ajagun. I will change my tone if it sounds confrontational. Sorry once again.
Good my man,now let's talk Nigeria/England and leave this Nwakili and Ajagun stuff,is becoming stinks.
Icon4s: I hope you know Onazi belong in the same Class(age grade) as likes of Omeruo, Shehu, Musa, Kayode and Ekong. So he may still be around for a couple of more years.
This is our major problem we tend to discard player easily based on age even if he is still performing.
At 25 these guys are still young and if they can continue with good performance then they are good for 2022 WC.
andrew444: Ajagun is 25,he played regularly during his U20 days,he is one of the most capped U20 players then with 22 games and 12 goals for naija U20
Andrew sometimes better not to dabble into confrontation analysis cos eterisan and forgiveness are confronting not talking football.
Kelechi Nwakili is a young prospect and still developing? yes do we need to argue it cos against Atletico he did well.Hope to see him developing into a great player.
Ajagun is one of the project of Nigeria football and good at 25 not too old to make eagles in nearest future. He even deserves a look in but Rohr has his plan,so we can't force him.
I think based on special talents i don't see anything wrong in Nwakili invitation cos right now Nathaniel Challobah is training with England national team preparing to face Nigeria.
I will not deceive you Ajagun deserves a call based on his performance so far this season and funny enough we don't have much options in AM but sometimes it happen, so not a big deal.
tbaba1234: I do not want Ogu dropped. I am just analyzing the situation as it stands.
Joel Obi appears to be Ndidi's replacement, that means Agu or Ogu are in danger of getting dropped. The choice of who will be dropped is not so clear cut. It is actually quite dicey.
I personally think Ogu has played better than Agu so far. If faced with the choice of both, i will probably drop Agu.
Nigeria/England should do the talking on who to drop.Let's just wait.
tbaba1234: Mikel agu was left out/opted out of the Poland game because he had to renew his passport. It was travel problems that made him miss the friendly.
Well, what we heard was passport issue initially.Later to replace injured Etebo.
Conflicting reports but anyhow at this stage let the best be picked.
PDPGuy: In that case, I think one of Etebo or Joel Obi will be dropped because the coach ‘loves’ Mikel Agu. As we know, Iwobi can also be used as the AM if need be.
Rohr love all the players.
The same Agu was dropped from Poland and Serbia games until he was recalled against Serbia due to Etebo injury.
Iwobi is the owner of that right side even when Simeon was fit,so he is going to start as a winger with Ighalo leading the attack. Victor on the left side and Mikel doing his thing with any of Onazi, Ogu,Joel, Etebo or Agu.
OMANBALA1: I will play Ighalo on the RW , VicMo on LW , Simmy CF and Mikel AM.
Sir do we need to accommodate Ighalo and Simy at the same time. Why not Ighalo first half and Simmy second half cos the two should be rival for starting beth as CF or what do you think
TheGoodJoe: To start with, when the Pepsi football academy scouts discovered a young Mikel, they contacted Kashimawo Laloko who was a Senior coach in the academy. The message was that this young secondary footballer was the best player in the country.
Years later, that identified special talent still waxes strong.
Kelechi Nwakali was identified years ago when he was about 12 years old, had him training in the U17 camp and about four years later, the young man was crowned the best player in the U17 World cup. Just like the likes of Isco, Neymar, Samir Nasri and a host of other young brilliant special talents were identified, it seems the technical crew is up to something with Kelechi Nwakali.
Coach Yusuf, not Rohr as you wrote in your epistle was part of the growing process of some of our bright young talents. He monitored the progress of the young Nwakali Kelechi and he is well within his rights to make steps to nurture maybe the heir to the Mikel who was spotted at a very young age too.
thegoodjoe to buttress your point Nathanel Challobah is in England camp training with the main team ahead of Nigeria match though not going to WC.
forgiveness: What were you thinking when you accused Onigbinde of Nepotism and corruption for taking Opabumi and Ogbeche to the world Cup?
It was not a distraction then, abi?
Two faced double standard tribalist fellow.
Good i know there is serious cold war between you and icon4s but sometimes better to keep quiet.
First, did you mean icon4s stance on Onigbinde for taking Opabunmi and Ogbeche to WC was tribalism and corruption.
Well that was the general opinion of Nigerians even Komkne and icon79 said it here that Onigbinde collected $10k from players which i don't see as tribal but info at their disposals.
I came out and said No.I know much about 2002 WC team cos my coach was a goalkeeper trainer to 2002 WC and i have three personal friends who are players in that team and they did not pay a dime to make the team.
I had fruitful discussion with Komkne and icon79 without labelling ourselves hater or tribal bigot. This is how it should be,nothing more.
On icon4s seeing Onigbinde as tribal man or corrupt.I want to tell you i had the same discourse with icon4s on Onigbinde.
Icon4s said why should Onigbinde took Opabunmi to WC and i replied why should Onigbinde took Enyeama and Ejide to WC .
Also cited that the same Onigbinde named 22 years old Keshi as his captain at afcon 84 over highly experienced Muda Lawal who was making his 5th Afcon appearance
After bringing out my facts i asked do we called Festus Onigbinde a tribal man.We had a good talk on it and we move on with no issue.
Sir forgiveness hope you remember my initial comment on this issue which i believe is enough for you to forget this and move on.
Sir i know you are a Nigerian possibly from Kwara or Kogi state and love super eagles dearly. If not you will not be here, pls let that love overshadowed any grievances and let's move on.
Mujtahida: It would not be a bad idea to sting England with that 3-5-2. But contrary to our thinking that Rohr favors that style, I think the absence of key players made him adopt that tactics. With Vicmo and the house in full swing I see him deploying the usual 4-3-3
Hope to see a good match.4-3-3 not a bad formation against England.
I want to see the reunion of two Tottenham Hotspur academy players(Ekong Troost and Harry Kane) and how it goes.
Oasis007: The more I think about it, the more I wish we could adopt 3 - 5 - 2 as our main Formation at the Mundial. This is the same Formation Philipe Trousier used in the 98 WCQ Matches that made us qualified without Permutations.
It's a big Doubt for Simon to make it to the Mundial, also Iwobi ain't a typical Winger we could rely on, rather an AM. We are getting it wrong by saying Iwobi can play as a Winger, cos he's simply playing as a RMF/LMF.
Musa on the hand is effective playing as a SS or a Striker. He got back to Form at CSKA Moscow not as a Winger rather as a SS. Only VicMo who played throughout the Season as a Wing-back at Chelsea I can possibly call a Winger in the Team at the moment.
We can choke up the Midfield with our best Midfielders, rely on the Pace of our Wing-backs, and a Playmaker who can do magic when needed behind a reliable Striker who won't be playing Guitar in the Box.
If I am in charge of this Team, I will select the Lineup and play the Formation as below to test run my Tactical Plans. In Addition, defensively the Formation automatically will switch to 5 - 4 - 1 with Moses doubling up with Shehu on the right, while Joel doubling up with Idowu on the left.
-------------------- Uzoho ---------------------
Ekong ---------- Balogun ------------ Echiejile
Shehu------ Ndidi ------ Joel ---------- Idowu
------------------- Mikel -----------------------
----------- Moses
------------------------ Ighalo -----------------
I know many Dudes will disagree with my Lineup cos there is no Iwobi, Iheanacho, Tyrone in it, but to me it's tactically better to have a very strong Bench who can make a Difference at any Point in time.
We shouldn't be only solid on the Pitch, we should also be solid on the Bench too, coz that really determined a formidable Squad. I will play Echiejile as the 3rd CB cos he has the Experience to perform in the Position. Defensively he's quite not a bad Player, and I will rather rely on his Experience than experimenting Awaziem or Omeruo in the Position.
Good formation but i don't see Echiejile as 3rd CB when we have Omeruo and Awaziem.
If you want to based it on experience, good we have Omeruo but i will preferred Awaziem, Ekong and Balogun cos they did it against Argentina.
At RWB,pls give me Ebuehi, really i rate Shehu ahead before but with Ebuehi performance against Congo he deserves to start.Shehu was woeful against Congo even worst than villain Aina in that match, may be due to fasting.
Pls remove Joel, till now am not impressed with Joel performance. Let's see Ogu again in that formation.
As you said good to have solid bench and with Iwobi and Iheanacho on the bench we are covered but how i wish they start in 3-5-2 formation cos they are top performers against Argentina.
OMANBALA1: And if we have a decent league that is comparable to what the north Africans have there is no reason playere like Echiejile, Aina and Idowu should be in that camp. Just watching the Poland vs Nigeria game and Idowu has nothing to offer...NOTHING!
Ikuowen Utin and Ebere Duru who played the left back against Athletico Madrid are way above those below average players we have in the camp.
We need to work on our league. Our league must develop past this shambles we have presently
Sir,pls don't let us used Atletico match to judge our players in main team.
The match was just a normal novelty match, nothing more.
If Idowu,Echiejele and Aina have nothing to offer then not Ikuowen i saw against Cara of Congo.
Mujtahida: in the first place i never impugned your beliefs, you got into the issue casting unfounded aspersions on me and that was needless cos i will ask you again: what are my views on the exclusion of kayode and the inclusion of Nwakali in the 35 man list? i do not expect an answer but for the record let me say it that it was low of you to make that statement. i got to tell you.
Mujtahida wetin now,pls take it cool cos you and Chief are respectable member of this thread.Pls and God bless
