I know I hit a nerve whenever someone mentions Osas. It is simple psychology and I didnt expect any less hence, I added "controversial opinion" as a prefix in my initial post.
Truth is that Aina was given chances and he failed. One of the reasons people praised Aina was his versatility to play on either flanks but I am surprised same fans are saying he wasn't given a chance on his preferred position.
Why was he sold as being able to play on either flanks the first place?

If you like, talk about Osas and his grand father it wouldn't change my opinion that Aina is not a good fit and guys like Stanley Amuzie at Sampdoria would have done better if given equal opportunity accorded to Aina.
At right back, Musa Mohammed, Tyronne Ebuehi and Nura Mohammed are far more talented than Aina and they will certainly have a big say in the future of that position for Ngr.
It is time Aina's fans start adjusting to the realities of the future.
I don hear you sir.your opinion my opinion differ and that's the beauty of the game

for the sake of civility, I'd hold back from calling Colin udoh a fool. How could he be so clueless to know that fans' displeasurable reaction over a player's lackluster performance isn't only peculiar to Nigeria. Go check other nations how underperforming players are grossly given sticks. making excuses for a supposed professional midfielder who could not string good passes together and another who's always jittery in front of onlooking crowd perfectly suits the description of a fickle fan. English fans for instance do not give a flying fvck about your past performance. You're expected to be shunning out good performances because as a fan, you pay to be entertained not to be bored to death. I'd send Onazi and Joel back to Nigeria through canoe if I were the coach. Those guys should just retire from football.
Oh you think Colin Udoh knows the game better than guys here?NO o.

I'm Onazi fan but truth be told he is losing it faster and Onazi himself was ashamed of himself but here Colin want Nigeria to think otherwise.

It is better to have promising young players in the team than abysmal old players.

Pls check out Onazi,Joel,Echiejile, Musa and Akpeyi and let evaluate their performances in eagles under Rohr.

Did you not see Aina play?
Yes Aina was not convincing enough but Echiejile made the team on preference not performance.

Sir how is your stake on Shehu now, remember how i rate Shehu but am more convinced that Ebuehi is better.

Also on Joel performance so far, with four solid friendlies the guy was damn too poor, making the team tells me sentiment

Onazi Ogenyi is out of shape. After England match i need to reevaluate my stance on him,not good enough for this WC,hope to see Ndidi back in action.

Controversial opinion, but honestly speaking Aina doesn't look to me a solid player. Even while he played LB, he never made daring runs that suggests he has it in him to offer something extra. He made a dogs dinner out of the chances given to him.
After the the world cup, he has a big fight to claim either of the fullback roles in the team because certainly, Usman Mohammed will come back to fight out the RB spot with Ebuehi.
The confidence of the team managers to hand him the captains band against Athletico and the yoe man's job he did in that game suggests to me that he is the guy Ebuehi will contend with. I dont care how anyone feels about it but Aina doesnt hold a candle light to Usman Mohammed, expect of course we want to be economic with the truth and common sense flies out of the window because Aina is London born
Spot on Aina didn't take his chance

Musa Mohammed as captain against Atletico has nothing to do with any special interest from managers cos he already had his cap with eagles,so naturally he is the leader.

Musa Mohammed better than Aina, well your opinion just like your opinion on Osas Okoro as the best Nigeria RB.

Oh Aina London born, this should not be an issue in analysing his performance.

The young man can still come good with his age cos have watched him as RB and is cool, technically gifted as a player.

Pls this is between kog45 and chriskel, nothing serious if you read the basis of our discussion and it's all about exchanging banter.on the young man performance.

Chriskel was the first person to talk about Uzoho here and i told him eagles was not for division three keeper.

The guy played against Girona in LA liga and after watching Uzoho for the firstl time.I called out Chriskel that Uzoho is promising.

That's how we started on Uzoho so not today or England match analysis.

Uzoho 5 caps 5 goals conceded and should have been 7 with AVR.

I wish the young man a good outing at WC.

I dont care how you lot see this but Rohr's over conservatism and rigidness might cost us a fortune at the long run.

No matter how u guys paint it, he goofed with the judgement of Aina's position in the team. Why not give the boy as much chances in the RB which is his main position, he instead preferred a make shift in Shehu.

Aina should have been giving as much opportunity to see if he could replicate his Hull showings on the RB position, he should have been the one fighting it out with Ebuehi while Shehu fights for his place in the midfield with Agu, Agbo, Onazi and Joel.

If Ebuehi and Shehu had played on the left side, would they have done better than Aina did? If Rohr was honest with his judgement and wants to accommodate Shehu, the either of Onazi and Joel would have joined Agu so that Shehu shifts to the middle while Aina slogs it out with Ebuehi.

As bad as Joel and Onazi are they are headed for Russia ahead of Aina, Agbo, Azu and Esiti yet someone wanna make me believe Rohr is an honest man? Smh

I'm not pro innit boys but Aina was treated unfairly
Oh my God what a post!thumb up.

Rohr also said that Joel Obi is unfit and that some players were 'heavy'.. ( maybe Onazi?)
Joel not fit then why taking him to WC.Rohr should know that no excuse for poor performance.

The Joel that i saw against England and Onazi are damn too poor and if care is not taking our bench will suffer for it,

Akpeyi erratic

Ezenwa not convincing enough

Echiejile out of it

Shehu as RB glaring he cannot do it

Onazi out of shape

Joel very unfit and unconvincing

Musa still trying to meet up

Etebo consistency issue

Awaziem not yet clear on what he can do.

A good bench determine the success of a good team, hope Rohr shake things up.

Rohr needs to tell him to calm down. He is too eager to impress. There was absolutely no need to clash heads with Leon Balogun. It was hilarious and quite sad
Sir is not about calming down but he is not the same Joel again, three matches with no cleared cut performance, taking him to WC would be pure sentiment though i don't rate Agu but he deserve it more than Joel.

Mickael2:
grin I just dey here dey check out some very very very funny analysis.

First of all we both saw it since 2017 that Onazi is gone, after this match even Sir Kog45 no fit defend am again. but trust them sha.

Then again, everybody is hailing our second half performance, but bar Iwobi's goal which other chance(notable or not) did we create? England were winning, they didn't need to push yet in that second half they still created the better chances after we scored and for God's sake this is England, you know the same England that we have been saying we will wipe the floor with? yes that sane England and we barely created 3 chances of note and people are still making reference to the Argentina friendly when we have been so poor recently.

Our main problem now is Mikel. naturally he doesn't have enough energy to function as an AMF self, but to make matters worse the Chinese league has been on for a while, I doubt he has had enough time to rest since he started all his team's recent matches, that's like 10 games at least in the last few weeks and yet we all know that without Mikel our team is...well Panama wearing a fanciful green jersey and the end point is that we will be destroyed. Ndidi is not yet training with the full squad, I don't know when he will get match fit but let's just watch. The main problem is that the Chinese league's calendar has affected Mikel and it will affect our team, that AMF role will be too stressful for him now and that's when we will see just how good our team is.

coming down to the manager, I'd bet thousands that Onazi would still start our matches, in fact make that a few hundred thousands. The coach is just a man manager, it works for Zidane because he has a lot of top quality players but when your forward players are either wingbacks in the clubs or they have a permanent quarter on the bench of a midtable team then being just a manager isn't going to cut it.

Finally to address those calling for Ogu to becoming a starter, you don't change your midfield most especially like that. No matter how impressive Saul is in training and even friendlies now and even if Iniesta starts playing like an old lady he will still start, that's one area of the pitch where you don't just change players because they come in as subs and perform well. Ogu may not even make it to Russia and I won't be surprised I mean Kayode was left at home for a Lokosa who had no chance whatsoever. I mean based on what Ighalo did today wouldn't Lokosa at least be a better choice? in fact I have tire
Oh good you called me out on Onazi, well am not a static analyst who always based his opinions on love or hate for player but flexible when it comes to football talk,

On Onazi performance against England if i have my way i will drop him from the team and if he come good tomorrow i say it with no emotion attached to it.

when is the Ramadan fast ending? if it continues till world cup starts then it is no brainer that ebuehi should be a starter if shehu's fasting is going to be a problem

On fasting that shouldn't be an excuse.Talking about tactical awareness of the game,Ebuehi is my guy for RB/RWB.
