tbaba1234: I saw it. The list released by the NFF includes John Ogu. No other Official list has been released. Ogu is currently on the plane with the team to England, he can not be dropped mid-air.
There was probably some omission. The final list will be released after England Omeruo too was missing, anyhow let's settle England first and see final list. |

Yes on the air with the same jet plane that carried Liverpool to Kiev for champions league final. We should expect 23 man list after England game or the Brilla sports saw the expo. |

Martz101: not total nonsense, he was rule out for 2 to 3 weeks last week, i believe his injury is not too serious, the london scan could rule on his favour.
lets just watch I think it's a thigh injury and was rule out for four weeks and sometimes it takes six weeks to heal though lesser thigh injury takes a week or two.Hope to hear positive results from London scan. |

goldfish80: By the way, if I was Agbo, I will be furious with Gernot Rohr. He was never given the chance to prove himself. You cannot keep inviting a player and give him no chance to justify his invitation, even in a micky mouse friendly. It is very very unfair. The world in this millennium do not reward meek people. Sir if Agbo make it i will tag Rohr a fraud cos no justification for it. Agbo know why he was getting invitation and he must know why he was dropped. |

zoboizee: The coach is very predictable. He had made himself clear. He is sticking with the majority of the boys that played the qualifiers. Especially his preferred first team & bench. If Simon is fit, he gets selected, otherwise, the spot is taken probably by simmy or Joel. The squad can't be far from the names below barring injury at the last minute to any of the players. Obedience, Loyalty, Experience, Talents, Competence & Seniority are all factored-in in choosing players in Nigeria.
Goalkeepers 1. Francis Uzoho 2. Ikechukwu Ezenwa 3. Daniel Akpeyi
Defenders 4. Bryan Idowu 5. Elderson Echiejile 6. Shehu Abdullahi 7. Tyrone Ebuehi 8. Leon Balogun 9. William Troost-Ekong 10. Kenneth Omeruo 11. Chidozie Awaziem
Midfielders 12. Ogenyi Onazi 13. Oyinye Ndidi 14. Mikel Agu 15. Joel Obi 16. Oghenekaro Etebo 17. Mikel Obi 18. Alex Iwobi
Attackers 19. Victor Moses 20. Ahmed Musa 21. Kelechi Iheanacho 22. Simmy Nwankwo 23. Odion Ighalo
Honourary Player 24. Carl Ikeme Likely final list after England match barely any injury. Modified... Pls Ogu is making it. |

Mujtahida: I thought depth was something we had going for this team. How is it that on the eve of the WC we are saying no depth?
The only problem is that we have too many DMs if not I don't see who else should be in that team that is not in the team. Muj what the team need now is our total support, nothing more, hope to see eagles flying in Russia. And the dopped players, not the end of the world. They should count themselves lucky to be among the best 30 considering the number of footballers in Nigeria. Those in 25 man team should be happy though 23 is going but still good experience. |

krattoss: I can imagine this dudes desperation..
But seriously eeehh, I think some injuries are highly exaggerated.. Cos even in my local league, I know some folks who play with knocks, and injuries for days maybe weeks.. I know it's kinda dangerous but I think a kind of medicine or drug can be injected to keep him going for some time.. If he is that important oo Yes the guy want to be part of it but sometimes it can be dangerous I remember Ben Iroha hide his injury to make US 94 but thank God Emenalo was in the team. Also Amokachie did the same thing in 1998 to denied Akpoborie a chance. Rohr has accepted the scan and ruled Simeon out but the player insisted on having another scan in London and Rohr granted his request. |

goldfish80: This is exactly what was said about Echiejile before the Algerian game in Uyo. I recall how this thread was worried about Elderson coping with the red hot Mahrez. What later happened in the game? Mahrez was reduced to just a shot which went over the bar. Do you honestly think, Aina would have fared better in that game? Sir honestly i don't see Aina as better choice even Idowu but Echiejile has lost the steam and if not who is Idowu or Aina. |

somehow: Youre guilty of what you're preaching. You are trying to belittle Echiejile to hype Aina.
Funny enough, no one has been able to say how many goals came through the LB all the while Echiejile mounted that position during qualifiers.
Even agaunst9 Congo, he didn't do bad either. As for the tackle, hows that a big deal when we all saw onazi doing same in the middle?
My point? The coaching crew should be allowed to do their job, whoever they pick, its their responsibility. Yes Sir |

Naughtytboy: sir i disagree, we don't have a deadly striker, you can't go to the world Cup with one unreliable striker. Simeon is a winger. And we all know ighalo isn't a poacher but with simy ighalo have to be on his toes Sir did you know why you are saying this is cos Simy proved to be a quality one if not we manage what we have and nothing spoil with Ighalo,Iheanacho and Musa but good to have Simy in the midst. |

Naughtytboy: see no sensible coach will drop simy even if Moses wasn't injured,, are they playing the same wing? Simy has a lot to offer he's quick strong skilful and can hold on the ball Sir you are rght but with Simeon out easy for Rohr to decide. James Obiorah was marvelous with great performance against Jamaica prior to France 98 that dwarfed Simy's own against Congo but dropped. With Simeon available it would not have been easy not that he would not make it but Rohr will have sleepless night to decide. Even if Simeon later make it meaning one more midfielder need to go,hope you get my point. |

a good leader listen to his subordinate ideas and Rohr did that and his not hiding it because he sees nothing wrong with it.

tbaba1234: The 4 dropped men. Rohr already made up his mind and on player to drop. Uche Agbo surprised to see him dropped cos always make Rohr squad despite not playing Stephen Eze lacks the pedigree to compete with Omeruo and Awaziem, so expected Junior Lokosa had a debut and impressed as winger but hope to see him after WC. Dele Ajiboye had a good performance in camp and gave Rohr headache in picking between him,Ezenwa and Akpeyi. With this decision Rohr is a very conservative and good manager who believe in those that worked and gave him the desire result. Simy should thank his star, meaning he is a missing link Rohr is looking for and fit the bill. Hope to see good match against London and see who to drop again. Good list. |

World Cup: Ebuehi shrugs off injury concerns
Super Eagles’ defender, Tyrone Ebuehi has played down concerns that he might be battling with a serious injury.
Ebuehi started in the Super Eagles’ 1-1 draw against DR Congo but was subbed for Shehu Abdullahi after he went down holding his leg.
The Netherlands-born left-back, who had an impressive game against DR Congo, in an exclusive interview with AOIFootball.com revealed that he only had cramps.
“No, because I haven’t played for a long time so that is why cramp started coming on my calf. Yes I will be fine for the England game,” he assured.
Super Eagles flew into Abuja on Tuesday morning ahead of a wealth investment seminar.
They are also billed to meet with Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday before jetting out to London.
As part of the preparation for the Mundial, the Eagles will play against the Three Lions of England who are also World Cup bound.
The Benfica defender further said that Nigeria could come out tops in the friendly against England in London, noting that it will not be an easy encounter.
“Everything is possible. It’s not going to be easy but I think it is possible. We can come out tops against England,” he concluded.
http://aoifootball.com/2018/05/30/world-cup-ebuehi-shrugs-off-injury-concerns/ I think medical reports from camp should do the talking not players telling us they are fit.World cup is not for unfit players. Rohr should be the one talking on their fitness level cos players like Ebuehi and Ndidi are important to the team. If Moses Simeon or any players would be out in the next two weeks then they should be dropped. In other countries nothing like managing players, Romero out Argentina called replacement ASAP but here stories. |
