Humility017: to be honest wit you...my brother. Alhassan stands a better chance to be called into the SE as an AM...Than Ajagun... reason because rohr already knows the first and even assessed him in training... ajagun will have to get involved in close to 20-25 goals this season to get rohr's attention Even he get better chance than Nwakili,as u said he was part of d team before moving out |

Icon4s: For those calling for Mikel to be moved to the DM or CM position, Mikel is our biggest asset in that midfield and we need to use him optimally.
Mikel keeps the AM role for me and let Ndidi and Onazi continue doing it in the midfield. Onazi is a work horse in that midfield and thank God the technical crew recognize that.
Iwobi can play from the winds and should occasionally drift to central positions swapping with Mikel (just like against Zambia in Uyo).
Some have again called for us to play Victor Moses as a wing back. *In Chief Zebrudaya's voice* Fa-fa-faa foul! He maintains his wing forward position.
We need to maximize our potentials in the best positions. I share your view but we can still try Ndidi/Mikel combo in d middle and Iwobi as Am and Simeon retaining his position or Nacho upfront with Ighalo and Iwobi on d right side with Ndidi/Mikel doing it in d middle. How do u see it. |

TheGoodJoe: Please. The same Mujtahida who just highlighted jabs on Iheanacho because of in his words, my exaggeration. Let us face facts. Not because of someone's admiration of a player (mine is always based on football reasons) people should make bias analysis.
That is my simple point. Comprede? OK sir. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Kog45(m): 6:33am On Oct 13, 2017 |
Mujtahida: He doesn't want to see that because to see it would destroy his romantic vision. If Iheanacho had movement and mobility against Algeria like the way Ighalo did against Zambia, trust me I'd say so. Yet I'm not saying Ighalo had a blast of a game against Zambia. But he wasn't poor.
For eg against Algeria, Iwobi wasn't fantastic(he had a fair game) , against SA, he was outrightly poor but against Zambia he was superb in bringing verve, pump and urgency to our attack. Nobody exaggerates on him and that's why he gets his due here. And so it is in football. Not everyday is your day and that's why it's a team sports. On a given day when one player is off, another might be on. On another day, the whole team might be on and on another day all of them go off. These things happen.
But when a player plays poorly and you say he was the reason his other team mate shone, that's problematic. Just say he had a poor game. If you are crawling and I am running it doesn't mean your crawling helped my running. It's like saying it is the poverty of the poor that made the rich, rich. Oh Iheanacho and thegoodjoe is like Ndidi and Michael2, Akpeyi,Mikel and icon4s, Komne and Nigeria born English player, Ajagun and forgiveness,Awaziem and Safarigirl,Mikel and Kog45 just to mention a few. I believe when it reach a certain stage in d course of our discussion or arguments we should put aside our love or hate for a player and let football reason take over. This is d only way we can have good and constructive analysis. In one of my comment yesterday i said Awoniyi was like a son to me but did u ever see me mentioning his name has a potential player to be in d WC team, not yet for him but if he make it fine. Dele Aiyenugba very closed guy to me,am one of d people that make sure he signed his first professional contract as a footballer but I read all d heated arguments about him yesterday and my comment on him was on football reason,i did not allowed my judgment to be based on personal relationship. Good to love a player but when it comes to reality we should face it and talk football without sentiments. I can mention some monikers(icon4s, safarigirl,Bascon velli,tbaba1234,Humility, enomakos,Joseph1013) despite their likeness for a player when it reach certain point they come out and say d truth, this is more reason i hold Jobie and mujtahida in high esteem when it comes to unbiased football analysis. For instance,i remember safarigirl was one of d championing of Tammy Abraham but now one of d strongest antagonist coz she believe he insulted Nigeria. |

tbaba1234: Players Guaranteed a place if fit
1. Ezenwa 2. Iwobi 3. Mikel 4. V. Moses 5. Onazi 6. Balogun 7. Ekong 8. Shehu 9. Ighalo 10. Simon Moses 11. Elderson (perhaps not as a starter) 12. Ola Aina 13. Ndidi 14. Enyeama (if he gets himself fit and ready) 15. Iheanacho
Shaky places
Musa: needs a club ASAP!! With Sarenren Bazee returning to full fitness, the coach will be forced to reconsider Musa's role. Onyekuru continues to score too. He would still be valuable if he can get himself fit and playing.
Agu: The coach has given him a lot of chances to impress, so far he has not been great.. Needs to start showing something.

Oasis007: I would like to suggest a 23-Man Squad for the World Cup solely based on personal observations.
Goalkeepers;
(1) Dele Aiyenugba; I pick him as my first Choice Goalkeeper because he's currently with a Club, he's the Number 1 Goalkeeper for the Club, he's a good Penalty Saver, and he's the most experienced aside from Enyeama.
Sometimes it baffles me why Aiyenugba is being snubbed for the Call up. He's ready to heed the Call and I think he deserves to be tried to prove himself.
I would have picked Enyeama first, but it's unfair to select him based on past Glory. Enyeama needs to get a Club in January and proves himself fit and ready for the World Cup.
Also, another Reason I couldn't choose Enyeama is simply for the Team's sake. Is he coming to dethrone Mikel as the Captain, or Dudes think Mikel could relinquish the Captaincy to him?!
(2) Ikechukwu Ezenwa; he's definitely gonna be an outstanding and reliable Deputy. I think he's a good Lad, he's ready to learn and he's really improving, and I believe he's the next to take over the No. 1 Position after the World Cup.
(3) Dele Alampasu; I pick the Rookie simply to understudy the Senior Colleagues for Future's sake. On Dele Aiyenugba i can tell u Rohr m not know him.I can tell u most of d guys u are seeing today are based on recommendation. What can u say about Aaron Samuel invitation? Dele Aiyenugba is a very good keeper with experience and still active in Isrealite top league as number 1,he deserves a look but sometimes coach can think otherwise especially goalkeeper trainer. A lot are questioning Alloy Agu on not searching well for quality keepers thanks to Ezenwa for rising to d occasion and save d situation. It's left for Alloy Agu to make recommendations even outside d shore of Nigeria coz Rohr cannot know it all.I know Rohr w be wondering with d performance of Ezenwa and Ajiboye in training coz they are home based. Right now i don't think Dele can make it coz Ezenwa has grown to become a reliable keeper to some point and all emphasis is on Enyeama to get a club and come back coz of his pedigree. |

Naijaphobia: Please don't go the Akpeyi way, 80% of SE fans understand what I meant.Ajiboye was outstanding for Plateau united 2016/2017 NPFL season, he had represented both U17 and U20 national teams with little or no flaws and was outstanding in the single game he was in goal at WAFU.
You need to watch Tiago Ilori to see his ingenuity, he is a class any day. Ajagun right from is playing days and career movement has always been repelled by the bench. He is a play maker, with eye for passes and goals. Watch his performances in Greece, Holland and Belgium and you would have a rethink.
Azubuike with all objectivity can stroll into the Eagles midfield. Currently one of the best DM in turkey and his display at the Olympics merits him being in the fold but lack of quality agent that can plead his course is greatly working against him.
Everton may likely recall Onyekuru. Watch him closely and you see the 'henry' instinct in him. Skillful, fast and unplayable on his days.
You can as well make adjustment to the squad and try to justify. You are everly welcomed. Good to hear your view and beautiful explanation. I rate Ajiboye highly coz what i saw of him against Guinea, he was so calm and highly confident,he distribute his ball on d ground with his legs and play with his defenders but I cannot use that match to judge him perfectly. If Rohr can try it,i want to see him in goal against Algeria coz something is telling me d guy is better than Akpeyi and Ezenwa but we need to see him in a grade A match to determine his readiness. |

forgiveness: Wow! You just took the bull by the horn by listing the 14 players that should be considered in the team list and listing players that must fight the remaining slots.
However, there are some players you didn't include on your list.
Players like Joel Obi, Onyekuru, Abdul Ajagun, Dennis Bonaventure, Cyriel Dessers, Peter Olayinka, Taiwo Awoniyi, Josh Onomah and Brain Idowu.
And I think Joel Obi should be added to your 14 man list.
Please, forget Nosa Igbiebor, Aaron Samuel and Kenneth Omeruo. My 14 man list are sure bankers for WC but d remaining are to fight for d 9 slots including potential gatecrasher like Joel Obi,Oyekwuru, Abdul Ajagun,Taiwo Awoniyi who happen to be my boy i can even call him my son,Josh Onomah,Brain Idowu. Oh Joel Obi very good player but i hope he is injury free so that he can fight for a place in d team and there is no way he w be in 14 man list coz 14 man list was based on performance and strong bench, this made player like Aina to be on d list coz he can complement both full backs On Nosa Igiebior,if u check my list very well,i try to accommodate all players Rohr and his technical team have used so far, that's why I gave him 10/90 chances of making it which is not possible. Even Aron Samuel too,i don't expect him to be in d team but only Rohr can explain, his club form presently damn terrible. Oh Kenneth Omeruo i still rate him highly coz Awaziem still need to prove to me he is ready, though good performance so far in his club but no matter what i w rather take Omeruo instead of Agbo Uche. |

Fringes: It didn't start in Brazil. In USA 94, the Italians, after falling one goal behind very early - and the world had woken up to learn the Nigerian?African unusual style of physical and beautiful play, simply - and tactically - ensured that Amokachi and Amuneke were injured and substituted very early in the game. They got no red cards on their way to achieving this. Zola, who was red-carded (and they still beat us anyway!) much later in the game, earned the red for a totally unrelated occurrence.
Of course, Thompson Oliha, of blessed memory, and my big friend, Mutiu Adepoju who came in for the Nigerian wingers were no perfect matches for the Bull and the flying left winger in Amokachi and Amuneke respectively. That left Rashidi Yekini (God rest his soul) all alone with an Italian Mafia defence, Rashidi could only huff and puff without any results. I have watched that game over and again and even protested about it on FIFA.com!
Yekini was so disillusioned that when now-Chelsea FC Chief, Mike Emenalo, playing as a left back in place of Benedict Iroha and donning jersey 19, eventually cut through from the left and made Yekini a marvelous pass from heaven in the late stages of the second half of extra time, with Nigeria 2-1 down and facing exit from the World Cup, Baba Yekini apparently had forgotten how to take a hot shot first time and blast it into the yapping net. He attempted to 'dress' the ball first to get into a more comfortable shooting position.
That was the end of the story. You don't try that in the face of a storm. The Italian defence recovered in a twinkle of a second and snuffed Yekini and danger out. The Super Eagles crashed and Nigeria's maiden World Cup appearance came to a stuttering end. NIGERIA was later named the second most entertaining team at the USA 94 Mundial, second only to eventual champions, Brazil.
I understand Yekini was awarded something for "Best Behaved Player" at that World Cup. I am not sure.
Bottom line: Europe would NEVER EVER allow Africa to have the best opportunities that can stand in their way. For as long as our players continue to seek 'greener pastures' in Europe for the lucre, and our local leagues are nothing to write home about in terms of officiating and organisation, we would never rule the world of football - and global success in the game of football MAY continue to be a mirage. My man u relayed d match live and God bless u. I want Rohr to use d match as a case study for his boys,we lost that match due to a lot of factors,i w never say conspiracy coz we have seen other Africa countries progressed to quarter final and Ghana even had d opportunity to reach semi final A lot of things happened in eagles camp before Italy match and Mutiu Adepoju should able to tell u much, this is one of d reason am happy for d unity in this present team. Prior to that match there was a serious brawl between Siasia and Olishe, this made Westerhoff to axe Siasia from d team list and brought in Okocha. After injury to Daniel Amokachie, naturally Samson Siasia should have replaced him and d rhythm of d game w continue coz Italy were under pressure. We had d game under our control till d tail end but Olishe messed up instead of simple clearance,Olishe decided to win d ball and lost it,this resulted to Italy equaliser. The penalty given to Italy was disheartening coz Eguavoen just act ignorantly and got punished for it,is a match i hate to remember, winning that match was straight to d final. Oh Emenalo pass to Yekini, just simple tap in would have done it but Yekini messed it up.One of d worst outing for Yekini in eagles even i w say US 94 his worst outing. We lost d match due to lack of WC experience and it was glaring we have d best team in d world after Brazil, rating d best entertaining team in d world and 5th best in d world. Hope this young team w supercede this great performance, they have everything at their disposal to achieve it,depends on d coaching crew ability to approach every game tactically. |

safarigirl: it's like you guys on this thread either don't rate Cyril Dessers or you just don't like him.
How can you even put Tammy that is still tied to England on your list, but no Dessers that is happily unattached?
Is it because the Press is not shouting about him up and down? Is it because he's not in EPL and so, he doesn't seem as attractive as the English boy? I get that some of you are fully influenced by what you read, which is actually not a very good thing, but come on!
Somebody please, explain to me why all of you are pro-Tammy, but are all acting like Dessers does not exist?

forgiveness: It seems Rohr doesn't trust some of the players in the team but somehow he had to invite them. Why and how is what I don't know.
That was why he said he was going to bring in better players Honestly i thought 75% of the present squad w make it but am thinking otherwise now. In our last match we have Iwobi, Aina,Iheanacho, Musa,Agu,Awaziem, Etebo, Akpeyi, Ajiboye, Agu,Agbo,Nwakaeme on d bench, out of these i w pick Iwobi,Iheanacho, Aina, with first eleven meaning we are having 14 likely players to d WC,9 slots still for available for any players who can prove himself.Pls my opinion o My 14 players 1.Mikel Obi capt 2Ogenyi Onazj asst capt 3.Victor Moses 4.Elderson Echiejele 5.Leon Balogun 6.Ekong Troost 7Winifred Ndidi 8.Alex Iwobi 9.Odion Ighalo 10.Shehu Abdullahi 11.Kelechi Iheanacho 12.Simeon Moses 13.Ike Ezenwa 14.Ola Aina. The remaining 9 slots are for grab with these 19 players and any Nigerian born players home or abroad. 1.Ahmed Musa must show he is still d same player of 2014 WC and only way out he must change club by Jan or else is out of d team 70/30 2.Awaziem must show he is ready for national team, South Africa match still a reference point, though he is having a good run in his club, likely to make it 70/30 3.Mikel Agu not yet convincing but Rohr believe in him,had a very difficult match against Zambia 70/30 4.Oge Etebo a good midfielder but since South Africa match he is finding it difficult to have a look at by Rohr 70/30 5.John Ogu a very experience midfielder who always in d team but finding it difficult to break into XI. 50/50 6.Uche Agbo a versatile player who can play CB or DMF but not yet not yet tested but surprisedly always making d team 50/50 7.Daniel Akpeyi trusted in d absence of Ikeme but lost his position to Ezenwa due to injury still receiving d knock for his below performance against South Africa 80/20 8.Nwakaeme a surprised call prior to Cameroon and he has been with d team since,a good striker but still await his debut 40/60 9.Dele Ajiboye one of d best keeper in d NPFL league.A deputy to Ezenwa during WAFU Cup,kept against Guinea with calmness and played d ball on d ground with his defender, with lack of availability of world class keeper in d team,he can pull a surprise 30/70 10.Dele Alampasu a young and promising keeper, he has always be with d team but was put on standby against Zambia, normally with sentiment he suppose to be on d train to WC coz he is for d future depends on Rohr choice. 40/60 11.Brown Ideye a forgotten player he was part of d starter and had a good match against Zambia but still looking for another call up since Algeria match. 30/70 12.Kenneth Omeruo one of d most experience defender in d team,he started d campaign with d team but not yet forgiven for his holla against Zambia, hope he rediscover his form, still very much rated by Rohr 60/40 13.Anderson Esiti a powerful midfielder who came in as 2nd half substitute against Zambia in Lusaka but not getting call again since Algeria match. 30/70 14.Ebuhei a young and promising player who need to pledged his allegiance to Nigeria instead of Holland, still waiting for his debut game but still in Rohr plan. 50/50 15.Kayode Olarewaju a very good striker who won d best Austria player of d year before signing for man city and loaned to Girona. He had a comeo appearance against South Africa, hope he get another call 30/70 16.Vincent Enyeama a reputable keeper who has seen it all, highly rated by Nigerians, also highly rated by Rohr.No doubt we lack highly rated keeper and everybody see Enyeama as d solution. The major concern is Enyeama form, just coming back from injury and presently no club..Hope he fix this by January so that he can be available for selection. 50/50 17.Aron Samuel got a surprised call against Cameroon and replaced injured Iwobi in d squad but later dropped from d squad but base on form he shouldn't be near national team, likely Rohr see something good in him 30/70 18.Tammy Abraham a young and prolific striker, highly rated by England and also wanted by Nigeria.Hope things sort itself out in coming months 50/50 19.Nosa Igiebor I know a lot have forgotten him but he was part of early campaigner under Rohr but fizzled out and made a statement that he cannot be a training material. I don't think anybody even Rohr himself remember him. 10/90 Special tribute to CARL IKEME.He made it possible for our qualification,he keep us in d race, anytime i looked back, his performance against Zambia always make me happy, he dived, punched, saved us from defeat, hope everyone remember that goal line saved. This great guy made us to forget Enyeama coz he came into d team as a world class keeper, settling down without issue When we taught we have seen a capable replacement and real time to see d best of him, sickness came, still on d sick bed looking strong and with strong belief that he w survive it IJN Carl Ikeme still remain part of d team,d wish of every Nigerian is for u to be part of d team and so shall it be coz u are a warrior and all Nigerians hold u highly for this great qualifications. Thanks CARL IKEME, guys here wish u quick recovery. |

forgiveness: First of all, we need to know the position Onazi played before he was injured and who should replace him in that position.
Onazi Ogenyi was the CMF and also played the box to box role while Ndidi played in the DMF to role.
Who was the natural and perfect replacement available for that role? John Ogu and no one else because he was the only natural CMF on the bench.
However, John Ogu coming in as a direct replacement for Onazi would have been a very bad choice.
1. He is slow and we already have another slow player in the mold of Mikel Obi on the field.
2. He is only offensive and his defensive ability is poor compared to Onazi.
3. His tackling about is not as good as Onazi hence the need to bring some one who can defend, tackle and do the dirty job in the midfield.
In regards to the obvious reasons stated above, it would have been unwise to bring in John Ogu.
Bringing in Aina for Shehu Abdullahi to move to the DMF position is a big game and is equally out of the equation.
That was why bringing in Agu who is a natural DMF was the best option based on the options on the bench.
What the did was to bring in Mikel Agu to Wilfred Ndidi' position and move Ndidi to the CMF position. It was very easy to decide like that based on the situation on ground.
That's was why I wasn't not worried about Mikel Agu when he came in to replace Onazi. I even demonstrated that when many here panicked and kicked against him by saying 'make una no worry....'. Good analysis, meaning that we need more options if Rohr doesn't trust Ogu as CMF to replace Onazi coz is a slow player. |

Mujtahida: Kog45 when you say Rohr is conservative do you mean in terms of strategy or personel? Let me give you heads up:
On personel I trust you see that Rohr is bringing down the age limit of the team to the extent that we have one of the youngest teams in Africa? He is not radical yet he has thrown Agu into the mix three times ahead of Ogu
On tactics:Do you know that after we trashed Cameroun, Bassagog said that they knew how we used to play and they were set up to play us that way but that on match day we adopted a different strategy that confused them? And how come we scored 11 goals in a group called group of death. Cc goodjoe, Icon4s, mickael2 My man Rohr is not new to me.I know him as a coach of Victor Agali then in French league. He has very wide experienced in european football and Africa football which is a plus for him.I was very surprised with his achievement with Eagles coz he has not be so lucky with other Africa countries he coached and Pinnick said he gamble on him Pls look at Zambia team, before our match they lose some key players to injuries but did u spot any difference in their play.Hope u remember what absence of Mikel,Moses,Balogun caused d team against South Africa and it was not their absence perse but we got it wronged tactically in that match. On d young players coming to Super Eagles, kudos to him for doing that but we should thank Manu Garba,Emma Amuneke for giving Rohr d platform to perform with these young lads. On Agu substitution,in d 1st half against Zambia pls tell me what was going on in your mind with Agu displayed.Did u know that Rohr wanted Aina in and Shehu move to midfield but i guess one of d assistants changed his mind and Agu came in.It nearly backfire but thank God d 2nd half was better. A coach should do what people don't expect.Hope u remember afcon 2000 how Bonfrere Jo shifted Tijani Babangida to d left side against South Africa coz he discovered Mark Fish was a slow defender, in that match TJ scored two quick goals. In that particular match a lot were surprised to see Finidi and Tijani starting together even to d surprised of South Africa team.We need to see this in Rohr approach. Westerhoff did it against Zambia in Afcon final introduced Emmanuel Amuneke for d first time in d competition and guy gave us a brace I still repeat it South Africa match made me to believe that tactically Rohr need a very good assistant just like Westerhoff having Bonfrere Jo doing it tactically for him. In that match we don't need Mikel,Moses,Balogun to beat South Africa. I believe with our qualification and before WC proper as experience coach he w address most of d grey areas and we w have a better team that w face any team just like US 94 squad. |

A brilliant coach whilst sitting down on the touchline already knows how things can go wrong and how to sort it out but when Onazi was injured, Aina, Agu and even Ogu stood up and the coach didn't even know who was going to come into the game and there was a period he looked back and I think it was one of his nigerian assistants that said let's put Agu and we saw just how great that idea was. Rohr is not a tactician, Keshi, Siasia, Amuneke and even John Obuh would outclass him tactically, not to mention Westerhof I just hope Rohr get it tactical right before WC coz no room for mistakes. |

Mickael2: in the game against SA we totally dominated the midfield, there goal was either a lucky break or a corner kick gone bad for us, pulling out Iheanacho made no sense whatsoever. The problems were with the final balls, at a time like that the coach will decide if he still wants to sub in a midfielder who can play defence splitting passes or sub in an attacker who can carry the ball from midfield to attack, Nacho had no business leaving that field Yea Kayode should have complement Nacho upfront, removing Nacho was a tactical error on d part of Rohr |

Icon4s: See, the principle is same all across. You don't tamper with the set up of the team at random. If the team is not getting results you can chose to overhaul but when the team is getting results you try as much as possible to maintain shape so as not to lose balance. This is a simple principle in coaching.
I have worked with Westerhof (I learnt coaching from him) and I know what I mean by he not being much different from Rohr in terms of tactical approach to games and team selection.
If the NFF wants to get any of those coaches you listed then they should be ready to shoulder the huge financial responsibility. I have said it that Rohr, tactically is not amongst the bests but the other things he brings to the team have carried the team thus far.
Then also remember that Club football is different from national team football. And remember also that it took Westerhof 5 years to build that team that featured at the 1994 World Cup and I completely disagree with you that the current crop cannot dominate African opposition. We are working towards that and we will get there but remember also that football has generally progressed in Africa. You can hardly dominate for too long. Truly not much difference but they cannot be compared coz i remember Bonfrere Jo was doing a lot for Clemens tactically and it was obvious but i don't know of Rohr may he has someone doing it for him too Yes club football is totally different from national team football and cannot be compared tactically.Rohr already has his team and they are doing well,so to tamper with d team w not be easy especially on d verge of making it to d WC. I see Rohr as a very conservative coach that need assistance in area of tactics coz i w not deceive u d team has been playing as a compact team which i understand. I believe before WC things w take shape and we w see a better and balance team |

Mickael2: Ok I have to strongly disagree here.
There was a game we were playing, I think it was against Algeria in 2005? Westerhof was in the NTA studios, immediately the team sheet was released he analysed the games and told us how it would pan out and the number of goals Nigeria would score in the first half and bam it happened. In the second half too he said he expects Martins speed to be a bonus plus other things he said and there we go it happened that way.
Westerhof after 4 years built a team that was easily outplaying Bulgaria and most of the teams on the African continent, trust me after 4years our team would still be dragging with Zambia. German coaches as a matter of fact do not dwell on team spirit/maintaining the same team etc etc (cc Joachim Low, Jurgen Klinsman and Klopp), these people depend on their tactical nous and their ability to get players to play to their formation, that is why teams like Germany and USA under Klinsman can field an entirely different 11 and still maintain the same identity, the only day we failed to name 3 of our starters we were playing kick and follow football.
I applaud Rohr for his all round man-management skills but comparing him tactically to Westerhof is just not true True talk, tactically d two cannot be compared.I remember Bonfrere Jo was doing it tactically for Westerhoff but i don't know much of Rohr back room staff may be they are equal to d tasks. Michael2 did u notice that there was little drama when Onazi got injured against Zambia,d original plan was for Aina to come in and Shehu Abdullahi move to d midfield but Rohr changed his mind and Agu came in but it nearly cost us in d 1st half-hour Rohr need to improve on his conservative approach to games coz he is too predictable. |

That concern the politicians, especially the ruling party. and the main reason for ruling and opposition party in Democratic system of government, why noise about status quo concern Afenifere? During Gej what is the real status quo position that Afenifere got for Yoruba nation? Oh I know your problem, am indeed sorry to even quote someone like u Look I voted for Buhari in d last election coz i believe GEJ wasn't doing enough as a leader but come 2019 i w not vote for Buhari. |

oladeebo: It is of no doubt that the leadership of Yoruba nation under Afenifere and CAN, Some political jobbers in Yoruba land were selling Yoruba nation to igbo, disregarding Yoruba interest and totally abandoned the vision of the past Yoruba nation that worked with either Hausa/fulani or igbo to defend Yoruba interest. Afenifere had camped to the side of igbo to sabotage Yoruba national interest. Politic had no permanent friend but interests any where in the world, The worst part of it is these elders follow the interest of igbo while closed eyes on the violation of Yoruba interests... It's total sell out. Lots like Odumakin, olu falae, etc were never hide their interest on pdp, and use Yoruba name to follow, follow the looted party, likewise they follow follow Nnadi kanu that never left anything Yoruba with out denigration! it is sad. The worst of it is that they were buying igbo region fanatic and infecting Yoruba nation with it now, where going our region tolerance? Awo never play religion politics. Yoruba nation didn't have eternal enemy between hausa/fulani or igbo, for Afenifere to think he will formed permanent relation with igbo or buy igbo religion vision cannot work in Yoruba nation, also they mustn't think they can lured Yoruba nation into permanent enemy of hausa/fulani it's impossible, so they must desist! Southern Unity is scam to Yoruba nation Religions interests protection christian/Muslim is another scam to Yoruba nation! Am assure Ibadan summit is well sponsored by igbo... if not why it wasn't condemn ipob hate speeches against Yoruba nation? There have never been the Unity between the Southerners before Nigeria Unity, why now? Yoruba with out unify to Igbo can fight for their own right in Nigeria! Enough for the sell-out. We didn't had blood feud with hausa/fulani, and it's not Igbo that will lead us into it, God forbidden Oladeebo on current affairs! I'm a Yoruba man but i don't know why we have many mad illiterate educated people in Nigeria like this OP.just like causing unnecessary disunity in d country. Pls what is your problem if anybody aligned with Igbo for God sake. My man is a free world if u are cool with Hausa Fulani,no issue enjoy your life instead of spreading religion division among Yorubas |

Joebie: How do you mean extra miles? Have we made another approach on Tammy? I'm not aware of that. If we have, that would be "extra miles". I see it as extra miles for FA boas to be involved personally to convince d guy.Did he do that in d case of Aina even Iwobi. |

Joebie: Let's say it as it is. I only remember Ekong and Balogun showing interest before we approached. Otigba, Alaba, Dessers, Torunarigha (but for his dad), Sennenger also belong to that class. Iwobi and Aina would have "loved" to play for England. Granted they talked about playing for Nigeria as children. In both cases, invites stopped coming from England, and that factor contributed in us getting them to play for us.
Even Balogun said if Germany came for him it would have been hard to make a decision. And I've been saying this on this thread.. It's not a matter of patriotism at that stage but important difficult professional decision. It's not easy to turn down big countries for Nigeria outrightly. And some of us expect these boys to turn down other countries (when those countries are showing interest in them) for us at the preliminary stage.
Uduokhai's case is no different. If Germany shows seriousness it will be very difficult for us to get him. I understand your view but do we need to go extra miles in convincing these players like we are still doing with Tammy. |
