I am rooting for Tammy abeg. We just need to re-strtegise. Truly there is a lot to be done in d defence not even defence alone but d team in general, let just hope Rohr we do d needful. |

Mujtahida: Yes, Iheanacho is in a good position. Honestly Rohr has a lot to do and he must be radical in his approach. I want to see Ndidi and Onazi competing as DMF,one should be on d bench. Mikel drop a little bit as CMF with player like Etebo or Ogu competing with him not Agu. Iwobi doing his thing at d right side with Moses Simeon slugging it out with him V.Moses doing his thing at d left side with d likes of Musa on d sidelines, remember Musa did it well from that angle against Argentina. Iheanacho playing behinds d top 9 w be an idea coz it w give him more room to express himself Ighalo as top 9 for now coz not yet feasible player to unsurp him,how i wish Tammy can be available to compete with him. Balogun, Ekong are good as it's now though things need to be done regards availability of back up CB,Awaziem is available, hope players like Felix Uduokhai, Tournarigba Ojokojo, Irofa w be available for selection, not forgetting Omeruo. Shehu Abdullahi is a revelation hope he can keep it up,good to have Aina who is comfortable in both full backs and with Echiejele, Ebuhei.Hope we can still find one or two players to slug it out with them for better selection Goalkeeping dept our greatest headache no thanks to Ikeme health issue but thank God for Ezenwa calmness.I still believe in Enyeama hope he get good club in January to fight for a place in d team and with Akpeyi, Ajiboye, Alampasu, with these five we should get good three to represent Nigeria at WC. |

Mickael2: Javier Hernandez is more clinical than a lot of Epl strikers but where is he? West Ham. Clinicality isn't everything. I for one believe that if Ighalo and Iheanacho are the two main strikers we have going to the world cup then we have a problem, a serious one. We need strikers who can combine what Ighalo and Nacho provide all in one. This is the world cup not nations cup and we know our defence will provide the opposing teams with bonafide chances(it is not a thing of shame, we are African teams, we always concede) so we have to look to outscore the opponents. Going to the world cup with a striker who can hold up play and ruffle defenders while missing open tapins and other easier to score chances OR going to the world cup with a 'supposedly' clinical striker who cannot hold up play or who goes missing when opposing defenders man-mark him is not the way forward. We need to see what Nwakeme brings, if I say Martins now nsogbu. We also need to check this Cyril guy, check Onyekuru in the CF position, maybe try a false nine position for him and Kayode etc etc but currently what were have now in the CF department is not good Nice post, love your highlight'we need a striker that possess d quality of Ighalo and Nacho. This remind me of Rasheed Yekini at US 94,a very woeful outing for Yekini and one of his worst in his career for Eagles coz he only possess one of d attributes u outlined. |

Humility017: i am not canvassingfor him to be dropped from the team, but definetely not a top 9 and shouldn't be starting ...you've been watching eagles since the 1990s....you're in a better position to know the kind of strikers that have always been paraded by the SE...the likes of yekini and co.... there is need to shop for a top 9 and back ups for troost and Leon and also elderson... That's all we need now . Definitely if we see better top 9 why not but fact still remain Ighalo,Iheanacho are strikers to beat for any new comer. |

Mujtahida: Na now I can support your call for Rohr to become a little bit radical. Cos we need to apply real tactical intelligence at the World Cup. No be to the play the same line up all the time in the name of never change a winning team. That might not work all the time. Sometimes a little tweaking like bringing Iheanacho to play behind the main striker can help make our attack more effective, a midfield combo of Mikel-Ndidi - Etebo /Iwobi too can do wonders in that midfield Definitely a lot w happen after qualifications coz coach need to sit down and plan very well for better outing, formation w change, new players w come in to complement d team, meaning unexpected w happen, some player might be dropped but all these depends on Rohr. This is not d best we can get from d team but I believe before world cup things w take shape from goalkeeper, defence, midfield, attacks. Hope Rohr w get it right coz we need a good WC outing at least quarter final even if possible semi final. |

Humility017: disagree what...? sir you're talking as if you've not been watching SUPER EAGLES matches...
between nacho and ighalo who is more clinical in front of goals? My man have been watching Eagles since 80s and i know what am talking about I watched Odegbami Segun,Rasheed Yekini,Chibuzor Ehielegbu,Odiaka,Owubokiri,Samson Siasia, Mike Obiku,Chris Ohenhen,Dan Amokachie, Efan Ekoku,KANU Nwankwo, Julius Aghaowa, etc So issue of Nacho or Ighalo not new to me and I know what am saying.I rate Nacho highly than Ighalo, u can check most of my comments but Rohr must have his reason for picking Ighalo ahead of him of recent. Pls check most of my comments on Ighalo i don't rate him but he had a good game against Cameroon which i appreciate. My point is not who is more clinical or do u see anywhere i said Ighalo is more clinical than Nacho,so why d question. Ighalo had a fair game like others in a tense soaked match and he cannot be dropped coz of yesterday match, that's my point. |

Mujtahida: At least Dominic Iorfa's own is better - he said his son would play for Nigeria at the senior level. They should talk to that Ojokojo oo cos we need that boy. Him and Uduokhai or at least one of them. The commitment of Alex and Ola's Dads is really heartwarming. Iwobi's Dad- while trying to explain why Iwobi came to camp on Tuesday rather than Monday - said that he'd be the last person to encourage his son to break camp rules and that the young man is disciplined - that's why having a good father is important. He also said he's been following Iwobi to football games since Iwobi was four. Can you imagine?
That back line needs stiff competition, very stiff competition. If we are solid at the back it would bolster our attack. Someone said Ikeme kept us in the game against Zambia in Ndola till we scored and that's true cos I remembered how he made save upon save till we scored. That's what a good defence does- it keeps you in the game.
How do you see Ighalo? I do think he played well but missed too many chances especially the threaded pass from Moses after Iwobi countered but unlike Iwobi he failed to keep things simple and just shoot. He wanted to do Bebeto on the ball and that's how the opportunity was lost. Otherwise I feel his movement is good, he gets into goal scoring positions and his hold up play and dribbling are good enough for him to have a place in the team if he does not suffer any dip in form. Ighalo had normal game like others except d indecision from Moses pass, still a player for d top 9 position, though some are saying Nacho would have done better but i disagreed. |

Mujtahida: You say you know Ojokojo. How can we convince him to get that his son to play for us. The guy can play comfortably as left back or CB. He's tall, strong and quick. He can either be a back up for our central defensive duo or as substitute for Echiejile or even replacement if he proves his worth so that Aina can stay on the right where he's most comfortable and battle with Shehu for a position at RB. Yea but NFF guys know him very well especially Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi,Segun Odegbami, Felix Owolabi, these people are enough to talk to him coz it seems he is d problem not d boy. I don't expect him to be a stumbling block on this issue,he was a very local home based player then and i thought he should be happy seeing d boy played for Nigeria. Kudos to Iwobi and Aina Fathers, see d join in their face, just like when someone child graduated from d university. They are just too happy seeing their children playing for Nigeria. Hope Tammy Dad can do d same thing, though a lot are not happy with him now for coming out to denied Nigeria but hope he can have a rethink. Ojokojo and Irofa fall my hand on their children coz they know d system very well and nobody should tell them before these guys pledge allegiance to Nigeria. My wish is to see Felix Uduokhai,Ojokojo, Irofa in Nigeria colour and make d competition thick in d national team just like d way we are seeing Aina,Iwobi Balogun, Ekong doing it. |

Mickael2: Last game, that is the point, last game. Check Omeruo's whoscored rating for the season, he isn't bad at all. Personally I believe that Omeruo is a better ball playing CB than Ekong for sure and Balogun to some extent, he makes mistakes and has a few bad games every now and then but who doesn't? Yea u are right,Rohr has said it,Omeruo is still part of d team and we cannot discard him like that, against Zambia d guy was OK if not for that stupid error.I still rate him highly. |

Mickael2: On the contrary, you think the game is just remove defender A because Defender A isn't performing and replace him with defender B because defender B looks better.
See the thing, a team isn't outstanding entirely because of the DMF, no, the CMF as well is very important. When Onazi was playing as the CMF at the start of the game he was leaving pockets of space, this drawing Ndidi out of position, in that case you as a coach might decide to just change Onazi and Ndidi since both aren't performing. But then Mikel Agu came in and continued where Onazi left-leaving spaces for the Zambians. Then a simple switch, Ndidi to CMF and Agu to DMF balanced everything. So you see that the CMF is as important as the DMF, Ndidi is an average or slightly above average CMF, he is an excellent DMF on the other hand but an average CMF(Onazi) made him look bad. Agu too is not a good DMF but a slightly above average CMF(Ndidi) made him look awesome. So let's try this out, Ndidi, who is a good, very good DMF plus Etebo/Joel/Ajagun/Mikel Obi who are equally good CMFs equals midfield dominance. If Mikel is the CMF, put Iwobi as the Amf and you have a potentially destructive midfield combo or if Joel Obi is the CMF put in Mikel as the AMF and the potential is too mouth-watering and will send cold shivers down the spine of opposing teams anyday of the week and twice on matchdays I read your analysis and I realized we can never be on d same page when it comes to Onazi issue and my major issue is why always Onazi when is not even necessary to blame him. Did u see how Ndidi was disposed of a ball yesterday that almost resulted to a goal but if it's Onazi oh my God we are not going to rest. |

Mickael2: depends on the period of the game. When Onazi was on he was the CMF and he, like I expected, wasn't fantastic there. When Agu came on he went in straight as the CMF and we were still having the same issues but once Agu shifted to DMF and Ndidi moved to CMF in the second half/ending of the first half we were sure of our game and they hardly created another chance Oh wasn't fantastic for that little period on d field?but Ndidi better as CMF in d second half?and Agu better as DMF?meaning Agu can replace Ndidi as DMF and Ndidi move to CMF and Onazi to d bench. Onazi was very OK as CMF yesterday even better than Ndidi before injury set in,hope u see how Ndidi almost gives Zambia d first goal,am not here to nail Ndidi or to compare but i want u to always put good judgement to your analysis, u always shield Ndidi and always ready to expose Onazi even when unnecessary. Mikel Agu played better yesterday in d second half?oh he should have played worse as he was in d first half.I can tell u Rohr was sweating seeing very horrific displayed by Agu in d 1st half, pls go and watch d match again and tell me any special thing Agu did in d second half.
