of course if he is still in form and we don't have options at LB, why not? These players we are mentioning still have to show they are still good in camp. But they say Taiwo is OLD. grin
Taiwo and Ambrose no go area for me coz they have nothing to offer again as regards national team.

Just hope Omeruo should shake up his slow start this season.

Onyekuru need to do more and so is Kayode...Being the highest goal scorer in a backwater league is not enough to give you a nod over players like Ighalo, Kelechi and even Nwaneme.
I thought Nwakaeme play too in backwater league which is Isreal.

I've tried to say it times without number. Most times when we say push/displace etc, the actual reason is lack of options we have at RB. Meaning Omeruo and Obaoabona could not offer what Ambrose could offer at RB. We've not had a dedicated RBs in a long time (I think since Chidi Odiah). So what we've had for a while are players that can also play as RB. Ambrose was MOSTLY used as CB at Celtic then.

By the way, at the moment Omeruo is not it. If Omeruo gets back to good from, I won't mention Efe Ambrose. Just read he had a bad game for Kasimpasa. I hope he picks up.

So for now I'd go with Ambrose and Awaziem. Maybe Junior Pius (Tondela), in future. He was red carded just yesterday for kicking an opponent.
Efe Ambrose?

meaning Taiye Taiwo can be recalled as back up for Echiejele due lack of availability in LB

Thank you for this sir.

Let me see the yeye people that will say Mikel is not a legend on this thread, Nigerians are only good at rubbishing their own and elevating others
My aunty just take it cool,I know why u used word'yeye'u don't need it.

I realised something on this thread if someone don't like a player they get mad at people who share contrary views and they can go to any length to dress u down but u know what let your maturity reign supreme on such fellow.

Whether Mikel is a legend or not I believe d guy w never be forgotten as one of d players that bring smiles to Chelsea fans worldwide on d day Chelsea won champions league and nobody can erase it no matter d arguments.

Respect my sister.

So because a MOTM performance in just a match automatically makes him a legend?

Maybe we shld start calling AHMED MUSA A LEGEND too since he got d MOTM PERFORMANCE against Argentina at d last world cup for scoring two sweet goals
Easy my man.I read your first comment not this one and i realised u are so infuriated with people calling Mikel Legend.

Well to some a legend which i belonged to and also to some not a legend which is understable, people wilth different opinions.

Pls let us be calm and be cautious with our words when we are trying to pass our message.I don't know Mikel personally and i don't know may be u know him,so we are all here for a purpose and is to share ideas, nothing more.

I know everybody like to ignore this but William Ekong has been shaky in defence. Very excellent in the air but mostly flat with his feet. The presence of a world class player beside him hides a lot of his flaws. Chidozie Awaziem should be given more playing time to adapt. John Ogu can play there ,too.

I am shocked some people are rating Etebor ahead of Joel Obi but maka why ? Is it because of injury ? Enefee dike ,ekee ekpo ya! Joel Obi is just about world class and the only player that is currently above him is Mikel Obi,nobody else. If Joel Obi becomes fit before the world cup I will take him ahead of Etebor and even Iwobi if you consider the later an attacking or CM.
On Ekong u are right,am always having my reservation even right from Olympics but of recent in Super Eagles he has improve and d presence of Balogun always give him that boost,as u said always shaking with ball on ground, hope Rohr is watching.

Truly on Awaziem,d young man is doing well in his club, hope we beat Zambia,i w love to see Balogun and Awaziem pairing .

Joel Obi major issue is injury,a fit Obi cannot be ignored. All we need from him is to be injury free.

Concerning the bolded, It is basic management principle....that is why leaders move around with their own trusted hands (from Coaches to C-suite executives). By the way, I don't live in Nigeria.

As to your challenge of naming 5 players, my response is I cant. Not because it defeats my point, but because I couldn't name more than two key players from each top team in the world. I am simply not into football that much anymore but I will cite examples from past word cup winning teams.

Aime Jacquet dropped Ginola and Cantona from his team when he took over the national team. No one who went to Euro 96 or France 98 was better in the positions these guys played. However, the team was better for it.

Romario was performing way better than Ronaldo, leading up to the 2002 WC and would have been the choice of many for the World Cup. However Scolari decided not to take him to the world cup. See this quote from Zagallo - the man who took Brazil to France 98.

"Each coach has his philosophy of work, but I would have summoned Romario," he said. "I think that his performances with Vasco da Gama mean he should have gone to Asia. "But Scolari made his choice. I respect Scolari's ideas and will be a fan cheering for success. Brazil can only grow."

Lastly, Keshi dropped Osaze, Martins and Nsofor from AFCON 2013. None of the strikers he called had a better pedigree than these three except IK Uche who was turned out to be the player with the worst returns of our forwards in the tournament.
U are right, only Rohr can tell us d reason for players invitation, all we need is result,if he failed he faced d music alone.

Honestly i want Kayode,Oyekwuru in d team but Rohr is d coach and he knows what he want regards players invitations and we must respect his decision.

Agu and Troost-Ekong starts and currently trail a goal away

Guy u funny. Is RB not in the starting 11? Efe brings experience and good form if he keeps it up.
Am not disputing his XI starting but Efe should have been a direct replacement for Yobo not Omeruo or Oboboana.

If he cannot do it as CB under Keshi, not now

Hope u remember Efe Ambrose started as CB in d national team.

My question is simple why should Efe Ambrose be invited as back up CB in d present national team,i f u can prove your point i w keep quiet.

Efe is only 28.
What age got to do with it,d same Efe Ambrose,Omeruo and Oboboana pushed to RB even when everyone expect him to replace aging Yobo,he should now be back as back up CB for Ekong and Balogun, meaning Taiye Taiwo should get a recall to back up Echiejele, even Obafemi Martins instead of calling d likes of Kayode, Nwakaeme, Oyekwuru, Aaron.

My man better to have a fit Omeruo back in d team than Efe.Thank God Awaziem is showing d class in French league, hope he replicate it in d national team.

you do not seem to understand that obj was more powerful and influential the second time around. in the 70s/80s, companies were not wholly dependent on government influence\benevolence. today they are.

Is Agbo even listed as a CB whenever he is invited?
Awaziem is making a case for himself at the club level. As long as he is still in the team, he stands a good chance.
Omeruo.. hmmm
If Agbo is not CB then is a waste of space coz we already have Ndidi, Onazi, Agu as DM or CM.

Yea Omeruo i watched d Zambia match again and i can tell u if not for that stupid mistake he had a better performance than Ekong but that costly mistake ruined his over all performance.

Them too, riff raff. Take it or leave it the remedies are part of the old school.

It is really sad that all these moin moin artistes cannot give probes that laid the foundation for the house they are rocking in.

The only mistake idris made was going socially conscious . Jaga Jaga was a great song but it infuriated Obj, and that was the end of idris xareer
I don't think any music analysis w classified Eedris as one of d best artist to come out of Nigeria.

Eedris w be remember as one of d generation that bring out d best in hip hop music through Remedies which he formed with Tetuila,Eddy. It was a nice group which gave Nigeria another dimensions in hip hop world.

The group broke out with Tetuila going Solo first with an hit u don hit my car and Eedris, Eddy continue with Remedies, remix Shakomo just to spite Tetuila that he lack talent.Later Eedris went solo and Eddy too.

Truly out of d trio Eedris was able to pull his weight with hits like Mr Lecturer and Jagajaga leaving Tetuila behind and Eddy went underground.

Eedris was able to cut niche for himself in d entertainment industry going to different concerts and he w be remember for his infamous fight with 50 cents which later nailed him in entertainment industry coz a lot of corporate organization ran away from Eedris, his musical career started to diminish, losing his relevance in Nigeria music industry.

Do we call Eedris a legeng?i w say No coz he didn't attained legendary status before his career nosedived but Eedris w be remember as one of d 2nd generations that includes Tetuila,Eddy,2face,Blackfaze,faze that changed d face of hip hop in Nigeria.

I believe Eedris should just take things calm coz talking to fellow artist in an uncivilized manner is uncalled for.He need to restrain or else he w be having issues like Timaya dirty salvo on him.

I don't expect any mature mind to support Eedris on this, there is need for him to take things easy and try to seek a way of bouncing back into reckoning.

He should just take a clue from artists like Sound Soultan,Banky W,Darey who are still relevant doing their things with d young ones or Paul IK Dairo who still sings in some live show and making cool money.

With Hope Akpan, we had a shield who could protect the defence and on the right back role, Onazi looked blazing, using his work rate to cover the length of the right side of the pitch. It also helped his runs not creating much gap in the defence.

Hope Akpan's injury was one of the areas I believed stopped us from qualifying. Although Musa's misses contributed the most.
yes Musa was d worst culprit. He mess d match up,two well laid passes by Mikel just a keeper to beat.
