Joebie: Aaron didn't get a look in until the Cameroon double header. Yes, someone must have suggested Samuel based on the physical aspect of his game when Rohr was looking for such. Don't forget that's how Nwakaeme also may have gotten into the picture. But Rohr still put Samuel on standby then. Recommendations are legal. But the coach's decision is final. Rohr has ran the rule over Kayode. Kayode may have been left out for any of these reasons: 1. Rohr is not convinced enough with Kayode 2. He already sees Kayode's attributes in some of the players we already have 3. Rohr is still giving Kayode time to hit the ground running at his new club (Girona). 4. He doesn't feel Kayode is needed for Zambia
My brother there is no foul play. I can list a number of players that initially got a call up but were never recalled. Do you suspect foul play in their case as well? My man am not suspecting any foul play regards player invitations. My point is this only coach can tell u d reason for any player invitation. On Aron Samuel i w say as a football pundit I w not extend invitation to him based on his current form, recently i read something about him in his club how his poor form led to his omission from d main squad and to d extent he was giving a chance to start against a lowly team in a Russian Cup but couldn't leave up to expectations. But d same Aron Samuel got d invitation over likes of Oyekwuru and Kayode, meaning only Rohr c explain this,he is in charge. Am not criticising him for Aron invitation coz he has his reason which u already pointed out but as a football lover i w never pick Aron over Kayode or Oyekwuru presently. |

Joebie: Lawal had not been in SE for a about a couple years prior to the Sudan double header. In the first leg, he came in for Ambrose in the 75th minute. Elderson clocked 90 minutes in that game.
In the second leg, Ambrose was not listed. Elderson was dropped to the bench -- Oshaniwa took his place.
Modified Hence, Lawal never pushed Onazi to the RB position, but for lack of options at RB OK |

Joebie: Agu is more of a defensive midfielder.
Joel Obi is fast and good with both feet. In fact it would be a delight to have both himself and Mikel because they can easily switch roles as AM and CM. Mikel can offer more defensively when needed, or when we need to hold on to the ball. Mikel can also go forward of course. Both players will have the freedom to roam provided there is a dependable DMF.
I think the battle is actually between Agu, Ndidi and Onazi, speaking defensively. Ndidi is also very good going forward, but he is young. He will get even better. Ndidi and Joel Obi no be mate, offensively.
Lastly, size will not be a big factor at the world cup. Ogu is not mobile enough. Joel Obi no doubt a very good player that i wish to partner Mikel in d midfield but something is glaring, for him to make d team is 40%,first is injury records, two he is not part of d team yet. If he can shake off his injury issue then i can say getting to d team is half done, all he need to do is get Rohr attention for invitation, come to camp and prove himself. |

Joebie: Okay actually Ambrose was red carded in the AFCON opener (Burkina Faso). So Onazi played as RB in the next match, when we drew with Zambia at the group stage.
But i've just checked. I know the period you are talking about. It was the AFCON qualifiers in October 2014. It was a double header against Sudan. Ambrose got yellow carded in the first match. I don't know the reason for his absence in the next. But that was when Onazi took Ambrose spot at RB, and Lawal played Onazi's role. Hence a similar situation -- lack of options at RB. No, Ambrose and Echiejele were dropped to d bench coz of series of poor performance but d Sudan match nailed it. |

forgiveness: Seriously!!?
There are many players ahead of Kelechi Nwakali but you want to specially groom Kelechi because those waiting in line, playing regularly two four seven, being nominated consecutively for MOTM & team of the week, week in week out etcetera are all mumunies from Somalia, ba?
Roben and Ribery are also injury prone. Why dem country no dey drop dem?
Joel Obi is miles a better player than John Ogu, Azuibike, Abdul, Etebor and Agu combined.
This is in regards to CMF position. Gbam! Agreed but on injury i w rather take injury prone Balogun to WC than Joel Obi and he cannot be compared to d likes of Ribery and Roben who are valuable players in their national teams. Hope u remember Etim Esin story how he was shot before 1987 U20 world cup and how Nigeria make sure d guy was operated on and made d team, not all player enjoy this privileged. Joel Obi must be super ft to make d team not coming to camp and be having a day off in training coz of knocks or getting hamstring in training and u expect Rohr to sweat on him with d presence of Mikel,Iwobi,Ndidi,Onazi,Etebo, Agu,Ogu. |

Joebie: You know, the Rio olympics afforded Rorh an opportunity to look at some of our players at that level. Shehu and Troost-Ekong were the beneficiaries. Rohr also spoke highly of Etebo at the time, but I think Etebo was injured so he didnt get an immediate call up. Did Rohr not see Azubuike enough? -- I can't say. But one thing I believe, Okechukwu will have a long spell with SE in future. Let's see how our bench fare against Algeria, then we can have more discussion about the options we still have out there. I believe getting national team called up required a lot of things and only coach can unravel it. |

Modifield Could also be because of lack of good options at RB No,we had a terrible match in one away that later affected our qualification,in d next match Keshi need to change d team, bringing in Raheem Lawal and Juwon Oshaniwa in place of Efe Ambrose and Echiejele respectively.Onazi was moved to RB and Lawal played DM,honestly d guy was superb. |

Mickael2: the best form of defence isn't always attack oo. If you meet a team with speedy wingers and you go and attack them bumper to bumper you will only get yourself killed.
To the point you made, I totally agree. We have seen that sometimes Rohr favours a long ball approach and Onazi is not equal to a good passer by any stretch of the imagination and his hopeless long balls have led to numerous turnovers by the opposing team which could well be punished by a better opposition. Somehow on the sidelines you have Azubuike and Ogu, guys who thrive on long passes with brilliant passing stats but Onazi still starts, the spanish coach was quick to bench Xavi at the 2014 world cup because younger and better guys were coming through.
Also on the sidelines(potentially) we have Joel Obi(If he stays injury free). He is one of the players who can play the CMF/AMF role. He isn't world-class but he is very good. A midfield combo of Mikel-Joel-Ndidi will achieve a lot of things. First, Ndidi will have to fall back as an out and out DMF and we all know the guy can make those long passes to perfection and his shots from deep would also be an asset. Then sitting beside him as a pseudo-Dmf/Cmf would be Joel, but in actual reality we would have a dynamic system where Mikel can fall back into the Dmf/Cmf role when the pressure on us gets too much allowing Joel to go a little bit further where his speed will aid potential counter-attacks and the rest is history. A fully-fit Joel Obi is totally better than everything we can offer in the CMF role, he is better than Ndidi in a Cmf role, Onazi? Not even close Pls where is Raheem Lawal, I remember this guy pushed Onazi to RB in one of our Afcon qualifying match under Keshi. |

tbaba1234: Olympics is still an age group competition
Agu and Azubuike play in the same league and these are their stats
Tackles Agu averages 3.7 tackles per game Azubuike averages 2.3 tackles per game
Interceptions Azubuike averages 3.2 Agu averages 1.8
Fouls Azubuike averages 2 Agu averages 2.7
Clearances Azubuike averages 0.5 Agu averages 2.7
Dribbles Azubuike averages 2 Agu averages 0.8
Blocks Azubuike averages 0.2 Agu averages 0.5
Overall rating Agu: 7.02 Azubuike: 6.89
For tenacity, clearances and tackling, Agu is your man. For dribbles and reading the game, Azubuike is your man.
From a defensive standpoint, Agu is a better choice.
Overall, Agu has had the better start to the season so far from available stats. Pls can u get me Raheem Lawal stats coz I believe d guy is better than d duo, though stand to be corrected |

Hope u know what absence of Mikel always cause in our midfield despite d presence of Ndidi, Onazi,Iwobi,Etebo, don't let us going into that not to derail our discussion. Truly i w not take Joel Obi and leave Etebo and d reason is simple,Joel Obi is injury prone but when w talk of class d guy is not average, with his injury history d guy by now he would have forget football but still playing in serial A tells a lot,d guy is good. |

onedayatime: go for japan version because when ut comes to cars, japanese cars are the best and these are the reasons I rate them higher than germans cars and american version(american cars are below german cars).
Durability(japanese cars are the best) reliability high quality better fuel efficiency and value for money.
But if you are looking for fashionable cars, then go for german or american cars.
The downsides of Japanese cars are mostly they never feel fantastic. The seats are not that great, you don't feel fantastic inside one. Japanese made car better than German made car?No o |

Mickael2: come take drugs brother . Anyways some people's opinion vex me sometimes like when Kog45 said Ndidi is better than Busquets, I knew I would vex and start insulting the guy(and I know he is way older than me and I MUST respect him)so I just backed down. That's my way, despite the fact that this is an online forum, top guys like Icon4s who I know are my bonafide seniors I don't even reply their comments so that we won't even have any form of dispute, any new moniker I won't attack the person until I check out his age range and I hardly even attack without provocation.
I understand that you don't like my views about life but I always plan for the worse. I started having a negative attitude towards life when a guy I know finished secondary school as the best graduating student but he still had to stay at home a while looking for admission and then I figured out that you should always be prepared for the worst, don't always hope that the best will happen. That is why I always assume that we will lose until I am sure that every possible weak point is corrected, that is just me, you may not be like that but we can still co-exist in that diversity.
In this vein I would like to totally support Icon4s' gesture and I also plead with Safarigirl(my very own sister from Abia) to also join us. In that vein also I would like to apologise to anybody that I may have offended in the course of this conflict but it is high time we let it go. Safari, babe, you don't need to apologise because you did nothing wrong but do not expect an apology from him upfront, just bury the hatchet, 'sorry' must not always be said before peace reigns. Who knows, he may later come and apologise to you privately but if we continue like this we will never know peace. Chrismario and Pietrico(I expect you to show up Asap) please forgive him of any wrong-doing but please let this die a naturally death. Icon4s as the leader of the gang has decided to embark upon a wonderful peace-making mission, let's all support him.
On a side note sha, something like this MUST happen again, that's human psychology for you, the only suprising thing is that it took this long before it happened. But the most important thing is how we handle this matter today because it will influence how we handle subsequent matters when they happen, it is not fun going to theSuperNerd's thread and noticing that he comments, replies his own comments and discusses with a couple of Ghanians who are hardly ever there, our young friend is going haywire, let's just extend the hand of friendship, he wants it trust me, he may just be too reluctant to hold out his own hand first Michael2 if u insult me.Oh boy I go karate u like thegoodjoe ni o. I am personally not happy with happenings here. This is a thread that I always visit to make myself happy and I am sure so does most others here.
It is true this thread was formed by a few number of us but it has grown to what it is today because everybody is always welcomed here.
On the recent feud between TheSuperNerd and Pietorico. Both of them were wrong. And we have exhausted all energies to condemn their actions.
However, I cannot stay in a house that is divided. I don't know Pietorico that much cos he is not much of a regular here but TheSuperNerd I know very well and he is like a son to me.
I suggest we set up a reconciliatory committee.
Elders of the house and every one else I need your take on this.
He is one of our illustrious sons here and not withstanding his short comings we still need him here. He is a great guy.
I need 1,2 or 3 persons to agree with me on this so we settle this issue once and for all.
This thread has grown beyond a social media It is now like a family. A house divided cannot stand. Who is with me on this?

Icon4s: Let me chip in on this Azubuike issue.
Azubuike is a player I rate so highly. But the problem is just like Shehu Abdulahi he seems not to have a good agent.
Remember his heroics at the CAF U23 (Olympics) qualifiers even then as an 18years old. You saw his inputs in the midfield of that Olympics team.
He was one of the standout performers from the Olympics.
Remember also that Azubuike played for the Super Eagles against Egypt in the 2017 AFCON qualifiers. You saw how he was able to combine excellently well with Etebo in that midfield.
I have not been impressed with Mikel Agu for the two occasions I have watched him play for the Super Eagles.
You can quote me any where, I rate Azubuike Okechukwu more than Mikel Agu.
People seem to forget the boy is just 20 years old and just still emerging. Yea Mikel Agu to contend with, need to prove to Rohr is better.Hope invitation is extend to him |
