Mai Deribe was made by military rule with oil license, nothing more, reason why we don’t really have truer rich men in Nigeria…..I always doff my hat for real entrepreneurs

TheGoodJoe:
First of all, I will disagree with the notion that Kanu is average. For a person that watched lots of Kanu's games, I say he was actually key to a lot of our good plays.

I still don't understand what changed but in the past,.we had lots of tactical players that had deep understanding of the game. Sunday Oliseh, Celestine Babayaro, Finidi George, Emmanuel Amunike and Kanu Nwankwo were those that really caught my attention.

Kanu was not the kind of striker that gummed the final fourth or 18 yard box to grab goals. He instead was the player that operated very deep to create room for other offensive players to shine.

You can call him average when it came to goals for the Super Eagles but when it comes to contributions for the Super Eagles to fly, he was creme and supreme of most players.
My comparison is between Siasia and Kanu in eagles and I want to say I got it wronged saying he was averaged but I rate Siasia than Kanu in eagles history, that’s my point which is my opinion.

oya mention Kanu’s World Cup contribution and mind you Siasia went to just 1 World Cup compared to Kanu’s 3
I think it’s hard for many to believe that Kanu had very averaged performance in eagles based on his exploits in Europe…two APOTY winners,Atlanta 96,Under 17 WC and numerous clubs achievement like UCL winner with Ajax and great performances with Arsenal the invincible.

But fact,he wasn’t spectacular with eagles but had very great moments during 2002 WC qualifiers, his pairing with Agali was great, both scoring 4 goals apiece.

I don’t know how Nigeria fans would have rate another CF with 5 Afcons and 3 WCs with no goal,87 appearances and 12 goals.Despite Ighalo and Emenike feats in Afcon and eagles peoples still see them as below average CF.

Kanu brought smiles to us during Atlanta 96 and Nigerians will always rate Kanu based on that performance and as thegoodjoe said Atlanta team was literary super eagles.

I meant his only World Cup contribution. He almost made us missed the 1994 World Cup. I never said he is not a good player but he was not better than Kanu!
Good morning Marjori.I never said Kanu was poor,in fact he was the best till date rating Nigeria players based on achievements but my emphasis is on Super eagles cuz I watched both keenly, though both belonged to different eras.

My comparisons are based on their skills, techniques and intelligences on the ball.I respect the duo

Yes I remember that pass Siasia failed to give Yekini against Ivory Coast, blow out of proportions especially by the press with different sensational headlines.

I don’t think not giving Yekini a pass should be used to rub off his total contribution to eagles. The same Yekini had a clearer chance created by Emenalo against Italy and fumbled with it.

My stance on Siasia over Kanu in eagles is personal opinion.

Good yes but better than Kanu? Never! That was his only major contribution!
Siasia contribution to eagles dated back to 80s.I just singled that goal out to buttress my point….Go and watch his goal against South Africa in Lagos Afcon qualifier 1991….In eagles talking about good pairing to top 9 I gave it to him.

.

No sir! It is a pity that Atlanta 96 was under age competition, nevertheless kanu is far ahead of Sia 1 in terms of sublime skills ND killer passes.

The only thing Sia1 has over kanu is physicality.

Besides Kanu was once APOTY an individual award that runs down to personal contribution both for club and national team.
I think you guys should know that am always based my point on national team I mean Super eagles.I never said Kanu is poor,in fact my favorite player which I visited in Circular hotel when he was younger playing for Nationale against Ranchers bees in Ilorin during FA cup but I rate Siasia highly cuz I watched him right from Moscow 85 and what Siasia did for Yekini in the late 80s to early 90s,oh my God,hope to see Boniface doing it for Osimhen

Aiyegbeni was never really committed to playing for us, people always mention the Angola game in Kano but have forgotten that the first leg in Angola was a disgrace, we played that game with just 13 players (I think), players like Yakubu and Jayjay failed to turn up for away games and friendly games always citing weak excuses.
Okocha,Kanu and Aiyegbeni skipped matches then in 2006

It might not be on par with the World Cup but I believe it is a very respectable tournament. Many greats, not just Messi played in it. Off the top, Marquez, Xavi, Eto, Ronaldinho, Zamorano, Pirlo etc. It is too huge to dismiss.
There is no FIFA World tournament that we don’t see greats players participating.

My samples is on Iroha,Babayaro and Taiwo in eagles.

Why should we include Babayaro Atlanta performance into eagles when talking about eagles best LB.

It would be disservice to include Olympic performance when we have Iroha and Taye who only had eagles rating.

I don't think we can class it just an underage tournament when some of the best players in the world were there.

Ronaldo De Lima
Ricardo
Roberto Carlos
Crespo
Claudio Lopez
Zanetti
Juninho
Conceicao
Gallardo

By the end of that year, these guys were among the very best in the world.

So I disagree with that underage tag and Atlanta should not be overlooked for Celestine's contributions.
South America teams don’t joke with under age tournaments so cuz Messi played in 2008 Olympics then we should rate the tournament at par with WC.

Oga Atlanta 96 is what?national team or underage.

Do we need to argue this….Celestine Babayaro was my favorite LB but I will not rate him based on Atlanta96 performance when talking Super eagles

We are talking Super eagles not underage tournament.

Toooh! Na una go tire. As far as I could remember, Fred Ajudua has been balling since the era of I.B.B.

Well grounded Fraudsters like Ajudua that could defraud a whole Chief of Army Staff (General Ishaya Bamaiyi) is not a small fish that should be handled with kid gloves.

The problem of Nigeria is deeply rooted. You say you want to fight corruption and eradicate crime, yet you’re only plucking the leaves and cutting some few branches instead of using bulldozer to excavate the entire root of the “Tree of Corruption” and then set it ablaze.

Fred Ajudua has powerful contacts within & outside the corridors of Power.

Do not forget that he was once a practicing Lawyer.

There’s no Court that could put away the likes of Fred Ajudua in this Country.

As one Court is sentencing him, another will be setting him free.

Guess who went to get his bail? Senator Ned Nwoko. Now, you should begin to get the picture.
Pls with what you wrote are you encouraging the young ones to go into fraudulent activities
